What I'm not thinking is that if we were lucky there could be competing funerals.

Per Merriam Webster it looks like @starbucks use of yeet is still appropriate, though the verb use is more the term i know.
"yeet interjection, slang — used to express surprise, approval, or excited enthusiasm yeet verb : to throw especially with force and without regard for the thing being thrown"

Can someone eli5 this to me? I get why shutting down the supply chain would be bad but like...isn't that what strikes are for? To get better work environments in this capitalist hellscape by not letting those at the top profit off the backs of the laborers? So why not just do something about what they're asking and prevent the strike? Or is that also a capitalism, trying not to have to give them better wages and what not?

The WH can't have it look like they're putting pressure on the companies. They can be supportive of the unions, but overt pressure would backfire politically. But letting an already messed up supply chain get even more jacked up will hurt consumers and the WH can't have empty grocery shelves on top of inflation.

1) FFMC? I’ve never heard or used yeet. Where do I apply to AARP?
2) as he keeps trying to argue that he declassified the documents (sure Jan), it still doesn’t explain why he tried keeping the documents from the archives. Even declassified documents are still property if the US and not him. What is his real argument? (I plan to read the gifted article too)

ldubhawksfan have heard it (only as a verb), but never used. My brain translates it to “chuck” so I’m unsure where that puts me on the aging scale.

I'm not sure why he would have come here to golf. It's humid and gross out. No respite from FL.

I'm not sure why he would have come here to golf. It's humid and gross out. No respite from FL. Right? Like, there are better places to golf right now. Related story: we did a visit to Water Country USA in Williamsburg over the weekend for N's birthday, in lieu of a party. MH was worried it wouldn't be warm enough. Even the morning of he was still worried! I just laughed. Of course the weather was perfect (for a water park).

I meant to post this last week, but I thought this was interesting to read about the POV of migrants being bused from TX to DC, and how for the most part the bus to the north is welcome. "From border town to ‘border town,’ bused migrants seek new lives in D.C. area" This is a gifted link, so have at it. wapo.st/3RTenoN

Posting because I know several of us were curious about what brought #45 to DC.
(and this part because it's "easier" to see the people in the group)

Why disguise a meeting as a golf outing when you could just have a meeting inside where people can't see you?
