I’m so tired of being sick. My cough is ten times worse and I’m waking up MOTN unable to stop coughing. I started wheezing last night and I sat in the bathroom for over an hour with the hottest water running and made it like a sauna. Did the same thing this morning for like half an hour. Finally went to the dr for urgent care. Explained the timeline and post covid cough and improvement after a round of oral steroids and currently cold exacerbating the cough….. and dipshit tells me he thinks it’s pregnancy reflux related and I should take some tums. And that maybe a different nasal spray would work better. I almost punched him in the face.
I feel very lucky DH just prescribed me some stuff bc no I don’t need a prescription of tums when I already have them and this cough is not reflux related! I need a fucking steroid inhaler bc albuterol alone isn’t working. I don’t have asthma. I have pregnancy SOB + post covid cough / SOB + a bad fucking cold.
Sometimes doctors really are assholes.

Our 20+ yr old oven/microwave wall unit we inherited with the house died and I may cry. None of the ones I've looked at online come even close to fitting in the space, so there's not just new unit cost but also construction costs to adapt the opening.
Bye-bye, 💸💸💸💸

We have a likewise old range that is an odd size and the only ones they make in that size now are $$$$$ when the day comes we'll need to replace it, or have an odd gap (our kitchen layout is a bit unusual, thanks 100 year old house).

What was it about 100+ yr old houses and their crazy kitchen configurations? Our stove top is literally right in front of the back door in it's own weird peninsula. Our kitchen island is concealing an old chimney. It's just bonkers. We can't afford a kitchen redo right now, but I think we're going to scrap that whole setup and opt for a freestanding range. Still, $$$$. 😭

Please check your carbon monoxide detectors, if you have one. If not, please get one.

Do we need carbon monoxide detectors if we don't use gas for energy? Yes, right? Because possibly from the cars in the garage?

Im not too worried about garage carbon monoxide cause We can never fit a car into our garage. Sad.

So I am giving an update to the saga of my twins since you've all been so supportive since this winter. We had our debrief with the the neuropsychologist today after her evaluation of my one twin, G. She has diagnosed him as autistic. She thinks with the right therapies and supports, his verbal communication will likely get much better, and she suspects his cognition may even be higher than average but we can't fully see it because of his limited communication skills. Ultimately it has been a relief to finally get an answer so we can move forward.
Now I'm overwhelmed and I have like 30 tabs open and really what I need to do is wait for the County to call me back to get an assessment so that we can get referred for what we need to get the TEFRA insurance, etc. We are also going to try and get on the waitlist for the specialized preschool for autistic children asap. So I am waiting on a call back from them as well.
Thank you again for all your support here and I'll probably come back for more as I know several of you have ASD kiddos and have been in my shoes.

willow I am sure that it is a relief as well as a stressful time right now. ((Hugs)) Not my own children, but many kiddos at work with an ASD diagnosis. We are actually spending a PD day in November on SCERTS training and I am very excited for it. I will gladly try to answer any questions that you have if I can.

I’m so glad you have answers willow. I bawled when we got DD2’s diagnosis, but it was ultimately the best, best thing for her and us.

I feel like in my gut I’ve suspected it for a while but he presents as very NT in social situations so I never really knew for sure. So I guess I feel more relief right now but I also kind of feel on the verge of tears too. Idk. It’s a lot to digest.

My gut knew it too, but it still was hard to hear it. But a diagnosis means help so this is a good thing!

Hugs, Willow. I remember the mix of relief and overwhelm when DS was officially diagnosed all too well. The ASD dx has opened so many therapeutic doors for us, in addition to helping us better understand DS.

addymac - I ended up with post COVID + other virus chronic cough syndrome. You definitely need the other inhaler. I’m sorry that doc was a sick.
