Well we had our first paci-free night since O was born. He surprisingly rocked it and made it most of the night! He was up an hour early but I’ll take it🙌🏻 Poor guy is also cutting 4 teeth at once and has a faucet for a nose though😭
How are all of you doing in this end of summer?

That's great about him getting through the night with no paci!
We've been in our new house for about three weeks and we still have so much unpacking and organizing to do. It's causing me much stress. And it's been so hot and the mosquitos have been so bad that we haven't been able to play outside much.
N has been so hilarious these days. She talks so much and she is constantly trying to be a little clown and make us laugh.
She's 16 months today and I weighed her yesterday - 27lb!

We have horrible mosquitoes here and I feel like a total earth-hating asshole, but we had the yard sprayed. It’s been a game changer now that we can actually play outside. We got a $7 sprinkler thing from Aldi and everyone is so much happier.

Leaf 🌱 I've thought about spraying but I've never heard of anyone doing that here. I'm going to look more into it. Our new yard is a good size and nicely landscaped. It would be amazing if it was also fun and usable lol.

Annoyed with mosquitos here, as well. L got a bite just below his eye and it looked like he had a black eye. mintyblueair hopefully most of the unpacking/organizing is done soon so you can enjoy your new house! How is everything aside from the unpacking stress?

L is just getting over a major case of diaper rash. Finally went to the pedi and got some magic butt paste from the pharmacy. Thankfully, it really is magic and it’s helped a ton. He’s also getting 3 molars but they haven’t seemed to be bothering him much.
H and I are getting ready for our trip to Mexico next week. L will be the the ILs which is giving me some anxiety but I know he’ll be fine. I just can’t wait to sleep in, sit on a beach with a beer, and not make any of my own meals.
Also I borrowed my friend’s T25 dvds bc I was bored/annoyed with my BBM workouts and I basically died. My arms feel like noodles.

have a great trip clementine! we are just chugging along here. v turned 17 months yesterday and is settling into her new found attitude. she literally threw herself on the floor as we were leaving drop off for dd1 because she wanted to stay. she is also still waking once a night and i’m still nursing at that wake up. i need to stop. we go out of town without kids the first week of october and i was planning on being fully weaned by then but i’m having feelings about that. in other news we are in the process of buying a house🙃

How is everything aside from the unpacking stress? I actually really like the house! I think I mentioned before that I never got to see it before we bought it, so I was anxiously awaiting possession day to find out if I liked it lol. It's great, I love the layout and the original 1960s features. I like the size and the yard and the location is perfect, the neighborhood is beautiful and MH can walk to work in 13 minutes. But I'm really afraid the house is a lemon. We had an inspection but the report gives no detailed information about anything. There's a crack in the foundation that's been repaired, but we noticed another crack that wasn't mentioned in the report. The basement has clearly had water in it before, which we knew, but it freaks me out. And one week after we moved in the hot water tank burst and flooded the basement overnight 😭. We lost quite a few books and had to rip out the carpet in the guest room, but other than that no real damage.... That we know of. It was a bad start. I'm paranoid now lol.

mintyblueair my gosh. i hope you’re done with the bad stuff. we’ve actually already found a house, but it’s a weird situation where we wouldn’t close for 6 months because we don’t want to put our house up at this point in the year (new house is in a trust and currently not occupied). we are waiting to hear what they say about our requests after the inspection. i have so much anxiety about buying a lemon house as well and it’s always so hard to know if it’s the right move.

I hope your inspection goes well. We had such a thorough inspection report on our previous house. It wasn't a perfect house but in 8 years we had zero issues and we always felt that we knew what to expect from it. Having a weak inspection makes me feel like anything could happen and it's not a great feeling. MH was so sold on the location, though 😑 And if the inspection goes well I hope they consider your 6 month request!

Oh no mintyblueair. What a wonderful introduction to your new home. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong! I’m glad you like the home and neighborhood in general, though. We actually bought our house without H seeing it, so I was super nervous that he wasn’t going to like it when we moved in.

mintyblueair, I hope there are no more surprises with your new house. About 6 months in to moving into our new house our furnance died, so we had to replace it. polson, I hope everything goes well and you can get the house you want. clementine, have fun on your trip! It sounds fabulous. L is 17 months now. He officially started walking about 2-3 weeks ago and has finally been moved up to the toddler room at daycare. He goes paci free at daycare, but we are not yet there at home. L has so much personality and is a ham! He loves to play peek a boo, point to his belly, go on walks, eat, and call everything that has four legs a doggy. In other news my summer break is almost over. I start work again next Monday and DS1 starts Kindergarten in 2 weeks. We went on a couple fun family trips in July.

This is the second week of daycare for the kids. J just breaks my heart when I leave him. He starts crying as soon as I get ready to leave. They say he doesn’t cry long and I know he’s really attached him to one of the workers there, but I still feel bad 😢 School starts on Monday and my classroom is nowhere near being ready. I have a lot of water damage near the outside wall. The tiles are warped and coming up, when you step on them water seeps through the floor. Also, there is evidence of mice. I have training all day today, so I really hope they get the floor fixed by tomorrow. I have all of my instruments pushed to one side of the classroom since I don’t know how much of the tiles they need to replace.

We were still giving N a bedtime bottle (3oz) until last night, when she refused it. So tonight she was saying "baba?" when I was getting her into her sleep sack and I just said there's no baba tonight. She said "no baba" and was completely fine, we just proceeded to brush teeth and read her story. I'm amazed! But I remember thinking it would be so hard to drop the bedtime bottle with DS and it was easy with him, too. I just build these things up in my mind because I'm so anal about the routine lol.

Hi guys! I just got caught up. Those summer is flying by! E is starting daycare the first week of september and my ds is starting kindergarten. Ahhh. I'm so anxious about having to get everyone together and where they need to be.
We seem to have finally turned a corner with our sleep struggles. We cut E down to one nap and DH started putting her to bed and handling all wake ups. She hated it for the first 4-5 days and would scream bloody murder. It started to get slowly better and after about two weeks she was waking up once around midnight and settling herself down within minutes. I've missed sleeping so much!

Yikes auri, I hope they have the floor fixed now? That's a tight timeline! They have a work order to get it fixed, but it’s not fixed yet and I don’t know when they plan on getting it fixed. It rained really bad on Thursday and I came in yesterday to a big puddle of water from the back wall almost to the front. I’m just going to tape the area off and hope it doesn’t rain anymore until it’s fixed.

I’m glad she was cool with no baba mintyblueair! L did the same thing when I told him there was no cereal left in my bowl the other morning. I thought he’d have a cow but he just said “all gone” and walked away. 🤷🏼♀️

Speaking of bedtime bottles, I recently stopped L’s bedtime nursing, so we’ve been offering a sippy of milk instead. He’ll take maybe 3 sips and doesn’t want it anymore. That’s ok right? I feel like it’s fine but it just seems weird that he doesn’t drink anything before bed for the first time in his life.

And hi guys! We got back from our almost 3 week road trip to the lake and to visit SO’s family. The kids did relatively well in the car although there were at least two times I was researching airports in whatever area we were in.
I go back to work in a month. I’m so ready and I’m not at all. B is FINALLY starting to walk but still prefers crawling and is still nursing all the live long day (probably 2-3times a day but I’m very over it).
