Add us to summer sickness. DS1 just got through with a sinus infection and ds2 is a snotty, coughing mess who’s also teething- so much drool! Yeah, you read up and it says it's very contagious by water droplets as the drooling kid is coughing in your face She's sleeping amazingly well, which is so weird for her when she's sick, so hopefully she'll keep it up! She's even been waking up happy and not yelling.

You guys can keep all your sick germs 😉
Seriously though, I know as soon as these kids are in school and daycare again we are going to be full of the sickies.

I’m bummed. My company golf tourney was planned for a Saturday later this month. I guess the owner forgot about a conflict with another fundraising event so the young kid planning it pushed it to the Sunday. 😒 Yeah sorry, I can’t make the drive down to SD, spend the whole day, and drive home late before a work day. I’m not that young and family life puts a damper on just changing plans on a whim. A different weekend I might be able to, but we will be down there sans kids that Friday night, so the logistics of 2 trips in one weekend sounds 👎🏻. I’m bummed. I miss golfing! I didn't know you golfed! I also do, which you may have guessed from my screen name. LOL. I haven't golfed since DD1 was around a year old, though. I played in high school and was somewhat decent, but I assume I have lost a lot of my skill. If you ever want to GTG to go golfing with an internet stranger friend, let me know.

Ugh, I'm sorry so many kiddos are still sick. Neither of my kids are, but I almost wish there was a reason for DD2's absolute insane antics lately. When she doesn't like what I am saying, she literally screams NO and runs away from me. When bath time was over, she scooted to the corner of the tub and slowly turned her back to me. If she doesn't make eye contact, I don't exist, I guess. Like basically this if she had a window to roll up: She was playing in her little play house yesterday when it was time for bed, and when I said "bed time" she started trying to scoot backward through the little door, and then she threw herself halfway on the ground and started cry screaming. It's GREAT. Obviously H and I can't stop laughing when this happens. Parents of the year!

I was decent then...but then got the reality check of CA green fees after playing for free in HS and I rarely went since moving here! Ha We might have to figure out a golf GTG since we live somewhat close!

I am an abysmal golfer, but I definitely think it's a sport that you have to play frequently to be good at! But we enjoy it from time to time. DH went with my brother yesterday in fact. I can't believe how many kids are sick! Boo to all. The first year was pretty tame compared to what has come since she's been 1. I'm hoping that daycare will toughen her immune system at the very least, but that can happen any time now. LOL thatgolfb, DD is a bit like that too just lately, turns away from us if she doesn't like what we're saying. I mean, we are pretty high needs, haha, always asking her if she wants things (when she's sick). So I'd probably be annoyed by me too. Not too many tantrums though YET.

DH likes to golf. I like to ride around in a golf cart and day drink.
I felt like absolute crap today. Luckily my parents took pity on me and picked up the boys and kept them for a bit so I could rest.

My H also golfs. In fact he’s at his men’s league right now. I played field hockey and could never not do a field hockey swing when golfing. So now I don’t golf. Lol.

DS has been “singing” songs lately. It’s just a series of da da da, but DH has me listen closely this weekend and sure enough it’s to the tune and notes of twinkle twinkle! It’s so cute. He would even get to the end, if he knew we were listening, and clap for himself! 😂

Hi all! Thanks for the birthday wishes! Sorry I've been MIA, weekends are hands full with N and work's been nuts because our fiscal year ends this month. Sorry for all the sick kiddos! Summer bugs are the worst. Hope everyone is feeling better! N has been so obsessed with Elmo/Sesame Street lately (he points to the TV and asks for "Emmo" all the time; I'm sure the pedi will love to hear that ), so even though he really hasn't shown any inclination towards stuffed animals (only very recently to a stuffed dog BIL got him, and even then not much), I thought he might like a stuffed Elmo. It came last night, so I gave it to him when we got home from DC. As soon as he saw Elmo his face LIT UP. He insisted on bringing Elmo outside after dinner for National Night Out, took him to bed, refused to part with him while I changed him this morning, and I barely got Elmo away from him before we left for DC. I'd say it was a hit lol

So cute both ldubhawksfan and cakewench! DD sings happy birthday (knows all the words) when she wakes up in the night, haha. She also can do some of twinkle twinkle, rockabye baby, tiny turtle, she can carry a tune better than I can, sadly!

cakewench , N still doesn't say much (although he has been saying WAY more lately) but one of his very first words we could actually understand was "Emmo!" He also really enjoys "Wah-whoa" which is the almost 2 year old translation for Waldo. My big guy inherited my H's Where's Waldo books and they are both totally obsessed with them. thatgolfb ,we are experiencing the greatest tantrums in our house. N just screams, runs away, or throws himself on the floor. I laugh because it is SO dramatic. He also tells us "No, no no!" complete with little finger wag if we are doing something he doesn't like.

On the tantrum note, including the foot-stomping which H and I honestly find hilarious, N will sometimes do the "dead weight" thing and drop himself to the floor. Lately if I'm not where he wants me to be, he'll get behind me and try to push my legs. Which reminds me, I think we need to add "Little Dinos Don't Push" to the ol' Amazon cart... (We already have the biting one.)

C “sings” twinkle twinkle and the National Anthem lol. Ds1 has a strange obsession with the star spangled banner so we sing it a lot in our house.

AJ likes to listen to daddy's music and "sings" along (ie growls) it's hilarious lol
We have alphabet magnets on our fridge and tonight he started taking them off and actually naming the letters one by one! And he was correct with almost all of them too! Crazy what he picks up from ds3. He also pointed at goose poop and said "shit" so... crazy what he picks up from me too I guess

I’ve missed you all. Just flailing out here and trying to make it through the summer.
School starts next week and it will be just me and A from 9-12 every day. Probably still won’t get as much done as I imagine, but I’m going to at least try...or maybe I will just make sure to catch up in here instead.
My brother just got married this weekend and I’m an Aunt to 4 preteen & teenagers - 3 are girls! Girls! One shares my birthday, so unofficially, she is my favorite, but really they are all pretty awesome people.

They were calling me Aunt Clucky and it was heartwarming. BIL’s stepson (now 13, have known since he was 9ish) barely acknowledges anyone, so it was nice they actually wanted to talk.

cakewench Happy Birthday! jules1614 my brother always liked cookies: Oreos and Chips Ahoy were the most requested non-homemade cookies. thatgolfb A is taking the opposite approach and giving a giant smile, dimples out and saying “no”. Sometimes he puts up one shoulder, head down to that same side and runs off with pure determination in his eyes. Stinker is FAST too. He also won’t stop calling me “dada”, little fart.

DS1 called H “Key” or “one-E” (for “honey”) or sometimes both, because that is what I had to call him to get his attention. It was so cute and when I tell him about it, he giggles that he got to call Daddy by his first name. With him we were FTP and didn’t know better, plus it was one of a few words he had, so we rolled with it.
