danib, mh is like that! 99% great. He does all the stuff when he’s home, the bedtime, bath, dinner, etc. But doesn’t “get it” when you criticize or comment on one minor thing. tgrimes, I’m sorry, and I hope they do answer your questions! So L is allergic to trees (several), grass, and weed pollen!?! My baby is allergic to the outside. And of course he’s DH’s son wanting to climb trees (he hugged one Friday) I live in the boonies surrounded by trees and grass and weeds!

Damn Cheshie6! Is it as simple as taking a daily allergy med, or will you have to avoid contact with nature? tgrimes I think you have some good questions but I do like his confidence in the solution. Will you be able to make the finances work without drowning? That’s a big hit. danib my H is defensive when criticized too. Sounds like you did a good job laying it out for him. Not much more you could have done. Hope the tension passes soon.

hangry, he’s already on a daily allergy med! As of right now it’s wash his hands after playing outside, try not to let him scratch his face or his legs etc. And then put his steroid all ointment on if we see any flavors! That’s all I got!?! I am honestly considering buying him a bubble LOL

I really should do that soon though.

Otherwise he just pushes the toothbrush around and acts ridiculous.

I might’ve just found the unicorn dentist but despite both my kids being hrrible, it was a fine first experience. They seemed really reasonable and were more about getting the kids comfortable with them, the office, having their mouth poked at. They were able to confirm no cavities or issues but not really do a full cleaning, and the fluoride was barely fruitful. But I’ll say this, my kids LOVE the idea of going to the dentist now (at least when there’s no threat that they really have to)... also my dentist wrote a kids book (he has a 4 and 2 year old) and they give a copy to each of the kids and it’s my kids favorite book, I think that has also helped them identify with it. And of course Elmo. Blipping has one too tgrimes lol

To my surprise, he did great. He was hesitant at first so she examined him with him sitting in my lap. But once the actual dentist came in he sat in he chair and let her look in his mouth.
The downside though, both my kids will most likely need braces.

I’m going to try to have him at my next appointment with DH so the dentist can take a quick peek!

It's always interesting to me how different dentists are. We've taken the kids since 1 year, so I'm surprised that a dentist wouldn't see a child until 3. Maybe it has to do more with the dentist's comfort level with littles. Seems like there should be a standard for this.

I spoke to the nurse for the ENT. I have an appt tomorrow morning at 8. He's going to try and remove the tubes in the office.

I have no clue what goes into this but it sounds like my nerves are fried. I’m hopeful, very very hopeful for all of you that this is the thing he needs and it’s all better soon.

No sedation when done in the office. We'll have to hold him down but I have to do that when they suction out his ears anyway.

I have an underdeveloped jaw and I’ve been told that at my age they’d have to break my jaw and reconstruct. It’s wild that at 2.5, they can tell this already though (the braces).

I was totally prepared for the braces. I had them. And both my kids are finger suckers so the dentist commented on how their roofs are already narrow. My cousin is also an orthodontist so I ope she can hook me up with a family discount when the time comes. Ha.

My boss seriously needs to learn to take personal calls in the hallway and NOT on speakerphone. Just heard his wife and son arguing then him yell "Matthew will you shut up so she can talk!"

Liam will definitely need braces! He already has an overbite. DH’s family have had thousands of dollars worth of orthodontics. A week after we started dating, they had to put a hydraulic like system into DH’s mouth to pull his wisdom teeth forward! Poor guy was so nervous about coming back to school!

We were already told O would need braces too. They didn’t mention E at our last appt, but we have one in a couple weeks so I’ll see if they changed their mind.

C will likely need braces, which we were told at his first check up. H is scheduled for his first check up in 3 months.

So the other day I found out there’s a gymnastics place around the corner that has open play for an hour on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. They have foam pits and obstacle courses and it’s $5 a kid. So I think we are going to check that out today since it’s another gloomy day. A mom friend of mine and her kids (her son is in B’s class) wanted to come along so it should be fun for the kids.
