Ok so wait. J just woke up and one of his eyes is red but also starting to get crusty. ATM I just have the one eye drop. Can I use the same dropper? Do I need to clean it? I don’t want to make it worse. HALP.

I am sensetive to jalapeños. My fingers will burn from just cutting them up so I always wear gloves now.

At the time I was really horrified, but once I washed off the burning sensation I laughed. Poor H didn't get any that night though. I think I may have told y'all about the time MH was cutting peppers and scratched his sack. He was dipping his balls in a mug of water for a good 2 hours trying to get the burning to stop. I've never laughed so hard in my entire life. Omg nooooo That’s like throwing water on a grease fire. Milk works, but so does an alcohol like vodka, or another non irritating oil like olive ir vegetable. I am laughing so hard because it just dawned on me that he was scratching his nuts while prepping food.

yep. I’ll just add it to the list of reasons why I don’t have time to workout. Lol. M stopped napping right after H was born. Not delightful. This is a concern of mine.

Well, I think the time has come that my 3.5 yr old has given up naps. Atleast on a regular basis. I think in the last week he has napped 2 times and mainly because he’s been sick. So who knows. It was glorious while it lasted. Sigh. 3.5 is a good run. It still sucks lol I know it is but it’s 5 and he’s currently laying at my feet whining. Like he’s obviously tired and need some sort of nap. Even if 30 minutes. Gonna be a long night.

Apparently my empathy level drops to zero when taking care of a sick child.
H was opening zip ties with a knife and stabbed himself a bit.
Appropriate reaction: “Are you ok?”
Actual reaction: “you did not actually do that to yourself...”
I’ll take my wife of the year trophy and sit it on the mantel next to my mother of year one.

So we heard back from the seller and they agreed to basically all the fixes (and all the important ones) so we are good! We have a house! Closing on 2/22.

So we got hammered with snow yesterday and overnight. And they only plowed main roads overnight so my commute in was hell this morning. Like, MH and I were shoveling my car and pushing it out of our street, literally. I seriously don’t know how my 13 yo, low lying, no snow tire car made it around today. And it’s suppose to be single digits here the next two days. I know I live in Canada, but this is ridiculous. I don’t like winter enough for this.
In more exciting news, I haven’t nursed E since Friday!!! It’s safe to say we have weaned successfully and I am so happy!

Isn’t blade 101 to cut AWAY from yourself? Thankfully this isn’t very abnormal and he just laughed at me. His first reaction would have been to make a fake call for an ambulance if I had done it so....

hangry how did it go? I know H needs to wean soon but I don't know how. C weaned when he was 2.5 but it was forced because I was literally in the hospital for 2 weeks. When I came back home he cried for it but after going 2 full weeks it would have been crazy to start again, but we both had a really really hard time. So I'm at a loss for what to do this time.

Just talk to him about it and stop offering it to him. An N13er just weaned her 4th kid. She said it sucked for the first few days but she just kept telling him mommy didn't have any more milk. Now she says she's a free woman. Ha ha ha.

I weaned in August and it was tough because I’m really hormonally sensitive to prolactin changes. I did night time first and then naps the following week. Just set a last day and stayed firm with it. She was upset the first two nights or so but got over it before I did and all of a sudden a week later my body regulated and I felt like a new woman.

When I came back home he cried for it but after going 2 full weeks it would have been crazy to start again, but we both had a really really hard time. So I'm at a loss for what to do this time. I have been leading up to it for a long time, saying that she is a big girl now and only babies get mommy milk. I told her it would be all gone soon. So in January I started timing our sessions. I let her nurse for each side for 5 minutes and when the timer went off, I told her it was time to stop. After just a couple times doing this, she willingly would stop. I let her pick the timer tone too so she was excited whenever she heard it. I have been gradually trimming the time down. I got it down to 1 minute on each side. Then I was out for one night and MH did bedtime and then the next night I just said it was all done. She complained that first night but hasn’t really complained since then. I replaced it with letting her hold my finger through the crib for a while as she settles it to sleep. And now I just have to sit in the chair. Soon, I will start leaving the room before she falls asleep. I obviously dragged this out extensively, but it has been painless for both of us so I’m ok with that.
