K threw up a few times overnight. She's in good spirits overall but we are exhausted.
H took off work to be with her and I'm going to WFH in case this is one of those things that will sweep thru the house.

L went to bed early (for him) last night because he didn't want to nap yesterday. Dude was dozing off in the bathtub!! Well this morning he woke up early for him which is when I usually workout, so no workout for me. I'm hoping that with him being up early, He'll nap early and then heading to work won't be as much of a cluster! Also when playgroups start, I may do no-nap Tuesdays every week! LOL

I think I'm gonna go through some more clothes and organize our dressers a little better. I watched some more Marie Kondo last night and I feel like I need to keep going with the tidying (though admittedly not following her full method, just the rules).

I feel like this week is moving faster than last week, no?
Kids are eating breakfast and I’m having coffee. B has school and I have an appt for my car at 9, which is when B starts school. So I am hoping to drop him off a few minutes early and shoot over to the dealership. Or else I would have to wait until 9:30 and I have no clue what I would have done to kill 30 minutes except drive around with a toddler.

Morning! I went in for the first ultrasound this morning and all looks good so far. We saw one gestational sac and fetal pole measuring on track! Next appointment is on the 18th.
H wanted to come to the appt so we ended up telling my mom that he had an early meeting and she said it'd be better to just let C sleep over. So we took him over there after the hockey game last night. He had a lot of fun at the game. At one point we let C stand down by the glass since it was empty and a player got body checked right in front of him. He was shocked at first but then started cracking up. It was hilarious.

Can someone TTMA Disney. I’m paging sophiegrace but anyone else feel free to jump in. I personally have never been. Is it worth it to bring kids when they are young? What is there to do for them? Specifically, a 3 and 4 year old.

Yay goldenlove! That's awesome. I'm for once kind of glad it's Wednesday. Tomorrow we fly to Nebraska complete with changing planes and a 2 hour layover. Ugh. I hate flying in general, but with two kids for the first time, it's making me extra anxious. I'm taking the morning to get some things done, packing and whatnot. Then I'm subbing in HS for the first time ever this afternoon. I'm hoping being busy takes my mind of tomorrow.

waitwhat I took M to Disneyland last year so she was 4. There's rides they can do, character meet & greets, etc. You should be able to look on the website to see what rides are available with height limits. With that being said, my sister & I are thinking of visiting my parents over spring break. Her kids are older but they don't remember the last time they went to disneyland. Her youngest was 3 at the time. Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether to bring H. He won't be able to do everything M can, won't be interested in meeting princesses, will probably be scared of Mickey, etc. So I'm leaning towards leaving him at home with MH or my MIL. I think if he were 3, I'd take him though.

waitwhat They probably won't remember it in a couple of years, so it depends on whether you think it's worth the money or not. M has an amazing memory and tells me things we did on her 1st birthday, etc. Its freaky. But I doubt H will remember anything. Lol.

New year, new insurance to deal with. Apparently my progesterone shots that I've been getting filled at CVS is considered specialty and I have to get it mail ordered now. I need the refill in like 2 days. I spent a half hour waiting and talked to someone and they can overnight it once the doctor sends it in. From what I see, they might send a 90 day supply even though I only need about a month more. So I don't know why this is better than just using CVS but whatever I guess.

I know so many people who have been and I just have no idea what to expect since I’ve never been.

So I am hoping to finally finish L’s baby blanket but now I have to find the pattern! I thought if I found the clipboard it was on, I’d find the pattern but that didn’t work! I could just order a new patter, I’d have to remember where I was whereas I had a system already in place for that so I could just check the spreadsheet (paper) and pick right up!! This blanket is not going to get done before his 25 and married!

My H woke me up at 2am because he sat up and yelled "what the fuck is that?!" - he was dreaming. I of course had trouble falling back asleep after being startled awake in such a manner.

I have basically always wanted to write a grant for NatGeo. Not really sure why. Like since I was a kid, I wanted some involvement with them. This isn't my documentary but writing the grant is still very satisfying. It's almost ready to submit and then we just have to wait and see what happens.

Can someone TTMA Disney. I’m paging sophiegrace but anyone else feel free to jump in. I personally have never been. Is it worth it to bring kids when they are young? What is there to do for them? Specifically, a 3 and 4 year old. I can tell you just about anything about the place and getting there so if there are any specific topics you want to know about just let me know. Honestly, age one was magical. Two, not so much. She was more interested in the splash pad at the hotel than anything at in the parks. I’m looking forward to universal much more right now because they have multiple spots in both parks where toddlers and young kids can get down and just play. You don’t have to make reservations for fast passes for rides two months in advance and restaurant reservations can be made same day, not six months in advance for the sit downs at Disney. We already have our stay booked for M’s 3rd birthday because she’ll finally be old enough for the bibbidi bobbidi boutique and I’m hoping she’ll be a bit more into the experience. Plus now that I know more along the lines of what she does and doesn’t like it’ll be easier for me to pick what we should do with our time. Like the waiting forever to meet Mickey and Minnie was the biggest waste of time and no doubt completely traumatizing. 😂 I will say, as I’m packing and panicking a bit about food for this CO trip, that Disney is hands down unparalleled when it comes to providing for the their food allergy guests. It’s almost too easy to find stuff that’s safe for everyone to eat. Every restaurant has a specialized allergy menu that allowed M to eat entire amazing meals. Even Mickey waffles come as a vegan selection so it looked, to her, like she was eating just a normal breakfast with everyone else. Any place with milk will also have soy milk as an alternative. I would start off by going to Disney and just plugging in some random dates to look at prices. It does add up quickly. I can shoot you recommendations from each tier of hotels that are rated well with young kids. There are pluses and minuses to staying on site and off. We always stay at a Disney resort because of transportation within the parks and to and from the resort is included. If there are other places you wanted to go within the Orlando area than that’s a non factor for you. Let me know what else I can tell you!!

sophiegrace I may need some help planning a Disney trip for Oct this year. My bro works for a company owned by ABC and can get us park passes and nice discount at Disney properties. A few days ago, I emailed him a big list of questions to look into, so I’m waiting for him to get back to me, because it will somewhat dictate what we can spend and if it’s doable! What’s your opinion on dining options? Do we need sit down? If I can bring my own food into the parks is it worth it? Any recommendations on these hotels: Art of Animation, Pop Century or All Star Movies/Music?

Happy hump day! E had a dentist appointment this morning. It’s amazing what 6mos can do. Last time we went he screamed and they couldn’t even go near his mouth. This time he was awesome! Counted along to how many teeth he had, opened his mouth when they asked and was so excited to pick cherry for his toothpaste! He was too thrilled to be dropped off at dc after the appointment, but he’s always fine after a min or two.

What’s your opinion on dining options? Do we need sit down? If I can bring my own food into the parks is it worth it? Any recommendations on these hotels: Art of Animation, Pop Century or All Star Movies/Music? If the kids love swimming at all then the Art of Animation is the way to go. Their pools are amazing and the resort itself is themed fantastically. As for dining, it’s all what you really want. We’ve never went with the dining plan because I get groceries delivered to the hotel for breakfasts, snacks, and drinks (because I’m not spending $10 on a bottle of water) and then because of nap time we always headed back and ordered Uber eats or grub hub for lunch. That’ll probably change as nap time ends and we can spend some more solid chunks of time at the park. We would probably do a lot more of the quick eats at lunchtime that don’t require a reservation. Because it was really only one meal in the parks we did do sit down places for dinner that required reservations...my Cinderella’s castle and Be Our Guest reservations were actually snagged through a reservation finder program I joined because they were both already booked up by 7 am 180 days in advance. It’s insane. It’s really up to you and what the experience is you want. Amazing food (if you’re a foodie) and fun kid experience won’t usually be found at the same place, unfortunately. Cinderella’s castle is insane and has to be paid at time of reservation, but it’s always the highlight for M and hard to be upset about. Epcot has amazing amazing food, but I suggest doing that on a weekday and not making a reservation somewhere. They have their food and wine fest that time of year and you can literally eat and drink around the world at dozens of stands they have set up around the world showcase. Always our favorite place to grab stuff. If you want, download the Magic Guide app. All the restaurants are listed by park or hotel and you can get a better idea of where you would want to go. They have all the prices listed, whether a reservation is recommended, if it’s a character meal, how many Disney dining credits it takes up, etc.

Waiting at CVS right now.. my new insurance says that the medication I need in 2 days could be 3-5 days to process. Umm no. I told them it's literally what is sustaining my pregnancy right now so I can't wait that long so they submitted my account to some high risk manager. She kept trying to say they just got it today and I said yea because usually I've been able to fill it same day at CVS and just found out that it's not covered.
I went to CVS and asked if I can just buy it without insurance because I don't trust that I'll get it in time and they said yes. Luckily H found a coupon online that got it down to $20. This whole thing has been so frustrating.
