Happy New Year! We had a couple that lives in our neighborhood that we are close with come over after our kids were asleep b/c they had parents in town to stay at home with their baby. We drank wayyyyy too much prosecco and I was pretty sick on New Year's Day which was not fun. But we still had a great night.

I have been thinking about the weaning too. I'll continue to nurse morning /night /weekend but she will be getting milk at school and occasionally at home. I think though once she gets that she will be over nursing, it's not quite as in her personality as it is for DD1 who is way more snuggly in general.
We currently use a soft sippy for water. I need to grab a couple 360s with handles. She got sippy /straw cups for Christmas.

Guys, it's like 2018 won't end. We can't exactly get the chimney leak fixed so my bathroom wall is currently like The chimney mason told us that getting a flashing fixed is hard this time of year bc shingles are more brittle and a roofer is prone to just tell you you need new roofing in that part /overall. And no thanks to that. My husband is going to go back up on the roof and try something else around the chimney to stop the leak now that it says it won't rain until Tuesday. But I really, really need this rain to STOP.

I am in a reorganization rampage. I purged and tossed toys before and after Christmas. MH is putting together a new cabinet to store some books and craft stuff of Gs.
We did two loads of laundry, I have vacuumed downstairs and when the baby wakes up, there will be more cleaning. I need to buy some new bins things like blocks and small toys.

Christmas is down, but my closet isn't fully packed away yet. DD was melting down after being contained in the PNP for so long, but we're not finished baby proofing downstairs, so I'm hiding with her in the playroom holing that H packs more of the closet. Except I can hear him watching YouTube, so I think I'm SOL.

ajetter, helloerrbody peachesncream easternshoregirl sunfroggerThank you everyone for all the bottle and sippy cup advice! I feel like I have a weight off my mind this weekend because I had been so worried about this. I like your perspective helloerrbody- it doesn't seem like a battle worth fighting if he's not ready yet. Love that your older son just let you know when he was ready! easternshoregirl I do have the 360 cup but he doesn't seem interested in that one either- I have only ever tried water though so I will try putting formula or breastmilk in it and see if he gets the hang of it that way! Thanks!

pinkcat, so glad we were able to help you feel better. Have you guys tried showing him what to do with it? Like holding it up and drinking from it? Maybe a silly question, but figured I'd ask!

I gave a cup of some sort at every single meal. He got it about 2 months ago but just perfected it right before his first birthday. He used the 360 the best up until a week or so ago. We are working on straw cups now that he is good with the 360 and regular sippys. I will say that I stopped giving him bottles at his first birthday purely because I could. It wasn’t a big deal. He gets a sippy of water with every meal and one of milk in the morning and at night.

I just sat on the floor with her, put a little of the liquid in the top, and I did the tipping part so that she could figure out the mouth part first.

Happy birthday flippinchica! We had a good (but long) weekend and the boys were shot last night. Classes start today and two of my classes are new to me so my goal is to keep afloat.

Can I say this here? I'm so over nursing with Olivia 🙈
With DD1 it was this magical bond thing but like Liv just gives me the hardest time about latching on. I'm experiencing low supply SO CLOSE TO 1. I plan to push thru it and keep going but I'm just sad its not the same experience kinda? I legit cried ugly tears when E weaned. I might throw a party when O does.
Sorry. I had to get that out. Plus it's a big part of my stress. I feel like she's gained weight since her last Dr appt. Yay and also sad because I clearly wasnt doing a great job before if she dropped on her curve so major mom guilt.
But the stress of still needing to pump 3x a day with managing a new job is real and stressful! Omg.

Happy birthday baby flippinchica! sunfrogger, sorry to hear about all the stress. I'd struggle with the pumping/new job thing too. Plus your chimney was/is the one leaking too? Not easy to have stress at home and at work.

easternshoregirl yup. That's me. I'm a wreck. Lol. Thankfully hubby got the drywall off that section and there's no real damage to the wood so it looks like we caught it really early. As long as what he did held (we should find out tomorrow) we should be OK.

sunfrogger I'm so sorry to hear about the stress. I am way beyond over pumping at work. I had planned to cut back about a month ago, then got hit with 3 weeks of crud and tanked my supply which in turn decimated my freezer stash. H told me yesterday that she was refusing bottles with the nanny yesterday and I did a happy dance. I will throw confetti for you when O is done if you'd like.

Holy shit guys. So DH manages the detail dept for a dealership in town. They were cleaning up a trade in today and noticed this suspicious powder that kept coming out of the seats as they vacuumed. Just out of caution they contacted the cops to have it tested. It was cocaine!!! There's like over a cup of it on his shop floor and the cops told him to just dispose of it????? They also told him he will likely fail a drug test now but he should be clean in 3 days. WTAF! I'm looking to get more information from him tonight.... I did make sure his pregnant employee doesn't enter the building until it is cleared out and everything.

jessijean whaaaaat!? That’s crazy. Who spills a cup of cocaine in their car! 😂 When we moved into our very old house a few years ago, H was pulling down the ceiling in the basement and found a package filled with a brick of white powder. He ended up letting the cops know, but it was unclear what it was. They just said to throw it out. But we like to tell the story of how we found a lb of cocaine in our basement.

I forget, when does she turn 1? V turns 1 right at the beginning of Feb so I'm starting to put a little almond milk in her bottles. 1-to get her used to it and 2-to stretch my milk. Could you try something like that? My ratio right now is like 3 oz breastmilk 1/2 oz almond milk but each week I plan to increase the almond milk and decrease the breastmilk.
