OH also, DH officially won that trip to Atlantis for work! So we have to decide when we want to go. We are aiming for October (I know it’s hurricane season) but I don’t want to go during the summer so it doesn’t leave us with many options. We also have to plan around school breaks/days off so my MIL can help. We are thinking Columbus Day weekend. I’m so excited and really need to get my ass in gear.

I've been trucking along with W30, halfway there! We have MIL's birthday this weekend, I'm not sure what food they'll be serving. Probably pizza. I might eat before we go and then just have salad there. Good idea. I have a gender reveal on Saturday and they are having a taco bar and a baby shower at an Italian place on Sunday. Ugh. I need to find willpower.

So I bought pajamas to wear to the hospital for after I gave birth. Something easy to open for breastfeeding but comfy. Well, I bought them in a size I was prior to birth and they never fit!
Here I am 2 years later in those pjs ... Poof

Can I jump in? Sorry this post is kind of dear diary. First of all—way to go Cheshie6!!! You look amazing and I love the confidence shining through your smile. You should be proud! waitwhat and jubilantsquirrel sounds like you guys are off to a fantastic start. Currently I am 90% on the postpartum diet of eating whatever my MIL brings us or I premade and stashed in the freezer, at whatever time of day I can manage. I have been cooking a little though and managing to fix myself some lighter things like lettuce tacos or zoodles. I haven’t weighed myself (our scale apparently broke) but I’m certain that I’m currently below pre-pregnancy weight. I only gained 17 lbs with this pregnancy (versus 40 lbs each with the first two). A big goal is to stay here and not gain back half of the pregnancy weight within 6 months of giving birth (like I did with the other two). Cutting out drinking will play a HUGE part in this. Overall though I’m feeling more accepting of my body now than I have in a long time. At 9 days PP I think I look about 15 weeks pregnant, which is pretty much my status quo anyway. And I can accept permanently looking low-key pregnant at 34 years old and 3 kids in 4 years. Maybe I’ll be able to tighten things up more once I’m able to exercise again or maybe I won’t. I have been through a lot, especially with this last pregnancy. My goal isn’t a six pack but a healthy body and energy to be a mom to these three. And hey, shapewear is my friend! I have no immediate plans for going back to work so 2019 is going to be a year for me to focus on myself and my babies. I’m sad realizing we probably can’t afford for me to go back to Orangetheory on one income (not to mention wtf would I do with the kids?), but there is plenty of stuff I can do at home; it’s just a matter of figuring out how to fit it in around everyone’s schedules. I have 4.5 weeks to get mentally ready 😬

dashook did you like the HIIT aspect of OTF? If so I can’t recommend a subscription to beachbody on demand enough. I don’t feed into the “coach” nonsense about it so I just skipped that part and just use it for the tons of different workout programs they have. All of Shaun T’s newer stuff has a low impact moderator, and at 25 minutes a day T25 got me in the best shape of my life over the summer. I was also thinking about looking at Kayla Itsine’s SWEAT app because I love the workout circuits she posts on IG. I’ve been working out at home since I was cleared, and it does eventually become a habit. M is always awake and has just gotten used to it over time. Inevitably I’m opening something in the middle of burpees or helping her with xyz periodically throughout, but I’ve always done it and for the most part she just plays next to me and recently, attempts to join in.

I cut way back on the drinking this week. I've only had one martini a night and I drink it as soon as I get home. Then switch to water which seems to help me sleep. I can't really open wine during the week if I'm only going to drink one glass so it will be cheaper this way.
We all know there's no way in hell I can just give up drinking so, I think this is a good compromise.

FTR, one of the main reasons I'm cutting back is because my FIL was recently diagnosed with fatty liver. Granted he was drinking waaaaay more than I ever do, but I told MH that we need to cut back. Drinking as much as we were every night is a bad habit to get into at our age.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to drink copious amounts of liquor when M hits the teenage years, so I'll save it for then.

dashook and everyone thank you! I sometimes can see my weight loss but usually, I don’t! I think that’s a very healthy mentality your body has been thru a lot having 3 kids in 4 years. What I’ve been doing is waking up before L and using the Zumba dvds that I get for being an instructor. I get a new dvd every other month which keeps it fresh or I’m doing one of the many Jillian Michaels DVD’s. I don’t know how much Orange theory is but is it the equivalent for a family membership to your local Y? $90/month for your whole family? Usually childcare isn’t extra with a family membership. Just an idea. If not, I second beach body on demand. I don’t do it but have seen that my friends like it! I don’t have good enough internet speed for it which is why I don’t.

tgrimes Good for you girl. I am sorry to hear about your FILs dx dashook I commend your attitude!! I’m not quite there yet. I’m somewhere between still wanting to look as hot as I used to PP, and realizing that where I’m at “isn’t so bad” for being 37 and having twin 2yr olds. I hope my daughter and son don’t ever have the false perception that it actually matters what their body looks like so long as they’re at peace and healthy. Luckily they love being active and even “running” with us.. but they’re two so. Adam started making me do this Reps workout. It’s an app. I’ll find out the name and report back. It’s very short (like 15 mins?) but I have been hella sore after so far.

sophiegrace I love HIIT workouts! I have had good results with at home routines before and I love how efficient (read: short) the workouts are while still being really intense and effective. Cheshie6 IIRC my OTF membership was like $109/month for 8 classes a month. I used to go to a 5:45 am class once a week and a weekend class once a week unless we were away (which we often were), in which case I would do two 5:45 classes. Realistically if I rejoined I would still mainly be doing 5:45 classes because that’s the only time I would have MH home to be with the kids. Maybe when LO is a little older, but right now I can’t even fathom getting up before 5 am on purpose, to pump and then go work out, and come home to a madhouse where everyone is just waking up to get ready for work/school. I think I will be much better off fitting a 25-30 minute workout into a later part of the day whenever the opportunity presents itself.

PRINGLES? Oh, YH. There are better chips to cheat with. What's the egg roll in a bowl? Sounds delicious. Omg don’t get me started. GAG. And of course M sees him eating them so she loves them too. Nasty. This is the recipe I used and it was amazing and super easy. There’s a few different ones floating around, but I think they’re generally the same thing. I did drain the pain after cooking the ground sausage, though. www.bunsinmyoven.com/sausage-egg-roll-in-a-bowl/ sophiegrace do you think the egg roll in a bowl recipe would be good with ground turkey instead of sausage? I was thinking of making it tonight and I have ground turkey on hand. Or I can wait until Wednesday when I go back to the grocery store and get sausage.

I’ve tried subbing ground turkey in for a few different Asian dishes and it never works well with the flavors for some reason. I think in this it would overall be too...mushy? My grocery store doesn’t carry ground pork so I just bought whatever brand pork sausage was on sale and cut it out of the casing if that helps at all. I spent a long time just staring at the pork section trying to find it.
