Lakes Yes I joined the fb group. I feel irrationally sad too. Thank you for your post. It’s been so helpful as I navigate this new world. I feel bad for E too because she is not going to be happy with this all. She hates things on her face even in her nicu days she would try to pull the tubes off her face lol. I have her going to see someone for fitting in Saturday. I hope it goes well. I think at this age they understand they can see better with the glasses. DD's vision is within the realm of normal but her left eye started crossing, one of the common side effects for her condition is double vision when the eye crosses. I could tell she was frustrated when her eye took a second to straighten so I think she was experiencing that. Her prescription makes her brain/eye muscle communication work less. This morning she asked for her glasses so I think she gets it. A crossed eye (strabismus) can turn into a lazy eye (amblyopia) which would affect her vision and give her a weak eye since her brain would stop using that one. That gives me hope. I really worry about E’s adjustment to life with glasses. She hates things in her head and face. I expect lots of praise and bribery necessary in the beginning.

peaseblossom55 another highly recommended site for glasses is Kids Bright Eyes. They have cute styles for super reasonable prices but unfortunately didn’t go small enough for dd. But I have it bookmarked for the future! ..... I just remember because she chewed on her strap and broke the connector so I just ordered her a new red strap from them. Sighs. And done stay puts because her glasses keep sliding down and it’s driving me craaaazy. We should probably just rename this thread “Lakes & Peaseblossom Talk Baby Glasses” 😂

I am so glad we found a store near by too. The Facebook group is also so helpful. The glasses come in in about 10 days. She like wearing the ones in the store After we took her to the mall and Santa was a no go this year. All we got were pictures of her crying.

Pink is a very E color, I had a feeling that’s what you’d pick! I can’t wait to see her rock them. Yeah, Santa didn’t go well over here last year so my expectations are low this year. I normally take our Christmas photos when we’re visiting family in NY over thanksgiving because of the pretty outdoor backgrounds but between the weather and my kids not cooperating....it did not go well.

Happy belated Thanksgiving ladies!
I've been absent from this board but think of you guys often. W is.....lovely lol He is so freaking stubborn and No is also his favorite word. Everything is no. He calls for us, we ask what he wants, he shouts no. He is so different than his brother! DS1 was so chill until about 2.5 and even then, I he wasn't this frustrating. I tell W it's a good thing he's cute or I'd give him to a circus.
Hugs to you ladies dealing with baby glasses. I'm so convinced one of my kids is going to need them everytime we take them to a doctor visit. Only because my vision is so awful, though, and even then, I didn't get glasses until I was 6. H has perfect eye sight so maybe we'll get lucky and my kids won't need glasses.
As for everything else, life is going well. My midwife decided I'm dealing with SPD which I guess isn't the worst thing. At least my back doesn't seem to hurt lol She gave me a referral to a PT but I haven't made an appointment, yet.

Hope E’s adjustment to glasses goes ok peaseblossom55! We’re going to see Santa next Friday and I’m assuming M is going to lose her mind. DS will probably love it (he’s never cried at Santa) but M is not a fan of strangers and definitely not a fan of anyone other than me holding her. Our photographer and Santa do really great/funny pictures when the kids freak out though so we should at least end up with a laugh 😬 Poor M!

I received a text that said there was a case of lice at school. Three minutes later there was a follow up specifying which class. It’s not my kid’s class but daaaaamn I was in a panic for a hot minute. I’m ordering the repelling spray as a preventative anyway. It can’t hurt.

We were busy with a play date and thenlibrary today but this post-nap afternoon is dragging. So happy it’s friday.
We’re getting our tree this weekend! I’m excited and have held off decorating until we have it. I thought about starting to put some stuff out but decided I want to do it all in one go.

thelittleredm I’m sorry about the SPD. How are you feeling otherwise? Are you ready?! Please don’t have a car baby. Your birth story makes me smile when I think of it. No red light tickets ever came in the mail right?

Lakes, Lice are terrifying. I'm so sorry you had to potentially deal with that! And other than the SPD, I'm doing pretty well, actually. Third tri is finally here! Lol And no, no tickets. Lucky for us, our city took down red light cameras because they couldn't get anyone to pay their tickets.

So proud of W! We've been working on getting him comfy with sitting on the toilet but with us not being home a lot to really work consistently on potty training, we haven't pushed it much even though he's been showing a lot of signs of wanting to train. But tonight, he kept saying bath and I thought he wanted an actual bath until he started groaning and he took off to his potty chair. I popped him on the actual toilet because poop is gross and not a mess I like cleaning. He finished pushing before I could get the diaper all the way off so I guess he didn't really go but it fell into the toilet so I think that counts lol He was so excited about it when he got off and got a jelly bean, he made me put him back on the toilet and pushed more but there was nothing coming out so he quit.
