Well, we built the poang chair and ottoman, and I moved the furniture around in my room to make space for it and the cosleeper. I need to get out my daughter's small stuff and pull out the gender neutral stuff. I would love to donate the girl stuff, but I'm just not ready. I still keep thinking of this baby as an "if". Maybe I will bag up the girl stuff or move it to the garage so it's closer to being out the door. Right now it's still in my kids closet in plastic totes. Did you use a poang chair for your daughter rather than a glider/rocker? I used a hand me down glider, but it was really rickety and I kind of want to get rid of it. I have an extra poang chair and hadn't considered using it in the nursery, but I'm thinking that could be a good solution. Also, I'm right there with you thinking of this baby as an "if". I was originally planning to be team green, but then felt like I wasn't really bonding with this baby, so I decided to find out. Well, I know the sex now and it hasn't really changed anything. Loss is a mind fuck.

Loss is a mind fuck. Last baby we lived in a tiny beach house and I just pumped and nursed on the couch outside my bedroom. We were given one of those dutailier gliders from my sil but it took up so much room I got rid of it. Now I live in a condo with a huge master bedroom so I bought a poang and ottoman to nurse in there. I will have baby in with me regardless of space because I'm just not comfortable with them having their own space for probably a year. I'm sorry you're having the same post loss struggles. It's horrible and so many of us get it.

I used the poang chair/ottoman with my second and it was great, using it again. Wouldn’t skip on the ottoman, personally. I do like gliders too, but we got rid of ours when we moved west and I do not want to go to the trouble when we already have a poang.

We were out last night so I ran into Lowe's to look at paint colors and think I'm starting from scratch 🤣 pretty positive I decided against navy/grey for now and have moved on to some muted greeny/blueish colors I think I like more. If only I can narrow it down to 1-2 I really like and can try out! Picking paint colors is so difficult for me. I'm going to run into another store later this week and look at other options and then at least pick out samples to try by this weekend.

Major progress made this weekend! Cribs put together. Painter is here today (he's also painting our downstairs, hall, and stairs grey instead of yellow, much excite). We also got a beautiful 100% wool rug (cream, blue, and gray) from Home goods for only $69.99 and 2 blue crib skirts for $6.99 each on clearance.
Got out our old sheets, clothes, etc. to see what we need. New knobs on my childhood dresser, which we're using in the nursery. Whew I'm beat.

Our plans have changed slightly this weekend because Dumbfuck McGee over here bought a non-returnable dresser that doesn't fit the changing pad. I was so focused on making sure widthwise it would fit in the space we have that I didn't even think about the depth - and it's a full inch, inch and 1/2 too skinny. We have a blonde wood dresser in our guest room that we've been planning on refinishing, so H and I decided we're going to refinish that for the nursery and paint/stain it navy, with some fun pulls (maybe blocks?) Because I think we're going to move next early spring to the town next door, we decided not to paint the walls and to leave them the grayish beige that they are currently so we don't have to paint the room 2x in a year.
If anyone has recs for removable wallpaper though, let me know.

lemondrop I've used removable wallpaper for a small space before, but it was easy. I bought it on Amazon but I know the brand also sells at Home Depot, I'll see if I can find it. It was simple to put up and take down, and I didn't have any issue with it removing paint when I took it down either. I don't know that I'd want to do a whole room with it, because you have to line up the edges especially if there's a pattern on it, but maybe for an accent wall. I just looked it up, the one I used was NuWallpaper and actually peel n stick.

We started painting this weekend and cleaned out his room! It's not done because we ran out of time and yesterday I had no energy thanks to this dumb cold, but hopefully we'll knock it out today. Still searching for a dresser, not having luck on the FB marketplace so we're going to look at thrift stores today too.

No windows or doors to cut around, so theoretically it should be easier. (says me, who has never put up wallpaper in her life) lol

Not difficult, but go slow if you do it! And have a big plastic piece you can use to run across it to help flatten it out and get any bubbles out.

lemondrop I just got removable wallpaper from Chasing Paper. I haven’t put it up yet but had ordered some samples to decide on a pattern and the look/feel were all really nice.

So far we have the room painted and MH put up new closet doors and a new bedroom door and also trim. We went with Minted Condition from Sherwin Williams and I am in love! The crib is also up now and we had to get a new dresser to fit in the space since our other one wouldn't work. But MH found a great deal at Big Lots and it's super cute. We also sold the old dresser too, so that's fun! I have two etsy orders on their way now to go on the walls. I still need to find a rocker/glider and decide if I need a changing table? I also want a few more things for the walls, but I'm so glad it's finally coming together.

Well, most of kiddo's room is done, finally! H refinished the dresser (it originally was a light oaky color), the pulls (which H got at Habitat for Humanity Restore) and the red frames, and he made the peg board surround. He also bought the toy finials at the Salvation Army, spray painted them and attached them to the curtain rod (the one of the left is a race car). We also got a red ribbon to pull the curtain back. We're still waiting on the rocker that we bought to go to the left of the crib. I ended up using my 15% off baby registry discount on one on Amazon, and it's been a clusterfuck. It wasn't sold directly by Amazon, but by a third party - who last week emailed to say that it wasn't available any longer and to cancel the order myself and they'd issue a refund. So I contacted Amazon who said that they talked to the 3rd party, who said that they were wrong and they're still sending the chair. On Thursday, I got a shipping notification and a UPS tracking number. On Saturday night, I got another email from the 3rd party saying "nope, chair is cancelled, issuing a refund." So I again contacted Amazon, who basically shrugged and said "too bad so sad - looks like the 3rd party just created a shipping label and never actually mailed it". I mean, at that point, I was fine with getting another chair, but I wanted my discount back - the initial 15% had saved me like $50. After more than an hour on the phone, Amazon couldn't figure out how to give me another 15% discount, but could give me a credit for $30. So I go back on Amazon and order another chair - but then look and lo and behold, the original chair IS STILL EFFING AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. *brain explodes* H is waiting to put up some shelves and this precious car mirror we made until we get the chair on Friday so we can determine height. We also got a 6x2 cube that we put some red, navy and grey baskets in that is on the right hand wall but is a current disaster because we're waiting to put up shelves.

His room looks so cute lemondrop. Sorry about the chair issues. We had a bunch with ours with DD too and it was really frustrating.

I told my H, I'm glad we got one in a neutral gray because I'm not buying another chair for a nursery after this LOL. Sorry, future second child.

It looks great lemondrop !! I love the pictures above crib. We ended up getting all 6 for less than $20! The file of the prints on Etsy was $4, the frames were $.50 each at Walmart because they were all scratched up, the printing of the prints was $7 on shutterfly, and the red spray paint was $4. Total win!

lemondrop It looks great! I’m so impressed that all the pictures are hung evenly. Multiple frames in a straight line is my H’s nemesis. So many holes in our walls 😭

So many holes in our walls 😭 LOL I'll probably tell my H this just to watch his chest puff up with pride. He's so anal about getting that kind of thing straight. Meanwhile, I've been known to put nails in the wall using like, the heel of my shoe. A thick book spine. Bottom of a coffee cup. I have no shame lol.
