F dropped to the 15th percentile in weight, from the 35th at 2 months. This exactly happened with DD1 at 4 months! I’m going to try to up her feeds again by like .5 oz (the dr said I didn’t need to but I think she might sometimes eat a little more so I will see if she starts spitting up again more, like last time I tried this). Then we go back at 5m for a weight check. The dr really wasn't concerned though because all her stats did go up (though the percentiles dropped a little), she’s meeting or exceeding all her milestones, sleeping well at night, just got more active because she’s rolling over, and will start solids soon so that will give her more calories. Plus DD1 was a small-ish baby so it’s probably genetic.

Before I got pregnant I was wearing a size 12 pant. I was putting away clothes tonight and decided to try some on for the heck of it. I can get them on and up where they belong and I'm only about 2 inches away from being able to do them up! I'm so excited! I legit ran out to the living room to show DH lol. Of course he just rolled his eyes at me XD

Am I the only whose baby went from sleeping like an angel 10-11 hours a night to multiple wake ups?! I need to get her into a sleep sack but she will only sleep in the magic suit. I tried the swaddle with her arms out and she completely busted out of the velcro and got out of it.

I don’t know what was going on but there was a lot of sleep protesting. It was either her reflux bothering her or she is definitely getting into the please be within eye sight stage. She is still in the magic suit bc I’m terrified to take her out lol

My kid has always sucked at sleeping, so my expectations have been very low since the beginning.

Well, AF decided to show her face for the first time. Hopefully it doesn't affect my milk supply too much. No wonder I'm sleepy and cranky.

Okay, ftm question - F seems to be sleeping about 12 hours at night, with wake ups 2 or 3 times for feedings. And then he's napping for 4 or 5 hours total throughout the day. Some days it's longer naps, some days it's more cat naps. Does this sound about right?

I’m excited to see a little tooth bud but sad that the baby phase is zooming by. In some ways it seems like yesterday and in others it feels like a lifetime ago. I'm keeping F pretty dosed up on tylenol and it's helping matters.

Anyone start solids yet? I think right about 5 months is when DS was getting up a lot and hitting the daily limit for formula so his pediatrician said we could try some solids if we wanted. I've been waiting with F because she's gaining and is "mostly" a good sleeper. I'm wondering if I may start soon. She has her 6 month checkup next week, so I'll talk to her doctor about it. I know it serves no real nutritional value at this point, but I hate to not feed her if she's going through a growth spurt and can't eat more than 32 ounces if that is what she wants.

One nap is usually almost an hour and the other 2-3 are usually about 25-40 minutes. So she's at about 13-15 hours per day.

I’m holding off on solids for as long as possible, I think. If she keeps dropping percentiles I might reevaluate. But I’ve convinced her she wants to eat more at each feeding so I think we’ll be good. We’ll start around 5.5 or 6 months. At the moment she’s only 4.5 and I also prefer for my kids to be sitting up or pretty close before we start

We skipped spoon feeding with DS1, so he had to be able to sit unsupported and bring the food to his mouth, which was about 5.5mo. Plan is the same for J, though I’m guessing he might be 6mo before he’s ready.
ETA- he’s 4.5mo now

Still 100% BFing for the moment. I want to order some Bambix, which is the first cereal they give in Holland. My BFF is like "just buy Gerber's" and I know it would be easy, but for some reason I really want him to have the Bambix.

Even though L is breastfed, the ped recommended we start at our 4 month appt. We waited until 5 months (he was sitting completely independently at that point), and we've been doing a little bit of cereal and introducing a new fruit/veggie puree each week (we have to go slow because of his dairy intolerance). He doesn't eat much at all, but he's SO interested in food and is getting good practice with the spoon. I started whole food with V at 6 months, and I'll probably do the same next week with L after his appt.

Our pediatrician told us we could start solids at the 4 month appointment. He could tell I wasn’t ready so he added we could also wait until 6 months. I’m going to wait until after our trip in November to start solids so she will be almost 6 months.

DS2 dropped to the 1 percentile for his weight at his 4 month check up. His pediatrician talked with us about starting baby foods to try to up his weight. I smiled and nodded but have no plans to introduce baby foods until closer to 6 months. I’ve always thought food before one year was just for practice. “Food before 1, just for fun!?” But then she gave a handout that said that the APA recommends that babies have BM/formula exclusively for the first 6 months. I just can’t imagine a little baby food/cereal will help him gain weight. I don’t know.

Why I started DS early was because he was hungry and formula says not to give more than 32 ounces a day. F will be 6 months on Friday and getting close to wanting more than the 32 ounces. It is weird why she would suggest it and then give you conflicting info.

F is already standing more or less independently. It's crazy, I just have to hold his hands to stabilize a little of the rocking he likes to do and he'll just stand there happy as a clam
