I'm confused by the eat, play, sleep when by the time he gets ready to sleep it's also time to eat again!?! I'm not understanding. Let's say H can only stay up for 2 hours. He eats, I let him play and then I put him down within 2 hours of waking. Once he wakes up from his nap I feed him, he plays then I put him down again 2 hours from when he wakes.

Cheshie6 FTR, if you do the eat, play sleep method, I would feed again before bed.

Yeah I don't get it either! tgrimes I've been confused by this since the beginning. I've seen this in several places especially when they are trying to prevent the feed to sleep connection. In the beginning, L wouldn't stay awake long enough to have time to play. Now I think he has FOMO and doesn't want to sleep for missing play!

We do 2 naps a day. Both are 1.5 hours average. I'm confused. We have to do 3. When is wake up and bed? He wakes up around 7 and bed is at 7/7:30 pm. He usually naps 9:30-11 and then again1:30-3.

I would kill for hour naps. Last week we were doing good with 3 naps.. 45 min, 1.5hr then 45 min again. But he went off schedule with daddy then this weekend and today have been a mess. Tomorrow we're back to driving to grandma's so he'll probably go back to adding in car naps. I'm not sure if our 8, 11 and 3 o'clock naps will work anymore.

We're driving back to my IL's house from Winter Park. I'm going to try to address the main topics here... It's crazy to me that some of these babies are in 18m size stuff. Lillian was wearing that size until recently. In fact, she still has a few 18m things that fit but I put them away to make room for her 2T and 3T stuff. She is 2.5 and is only 25lbs and 33.5" tall, though. It's strange being on the small side of the growth chart sometimes. I'm with danib about not caring about the nurse to sleep thing. They really do wean and then go to sleep on their own anyway. Lillian would only go to sleep in the car or nursing when she was a baby. When she weaned at 19m, we just read books and rocked for a few minutes and then she put herself to sleep. Now, we don't even rock. Just read some books and she goes to bed. And, she sleeps all night. It's just not something I'm really stressed out over with Lilah. Granted, she's a pretty good sleeper in that while she wakes up 2-3 times a night still, she usually falls asleep easily. I'd probably feel differently if she was more like how Lillian was (took 1-2 hrs to go down and then woke up 6+ times per night). We do 3 naps a day usually. Wake at ably 6:30, nap #1 is around 8:30/9. Then nap #2 is her longest around 1 and nap #3 is about 4:30/5. Bedtime is 7:30. Her longest awake stretch is 3.5-4 hrs and her shortest is 2 hrs. I don't necessarily follow the eat, play, sleep schedule. I usually follow her lead. I feed her when she's hungry, which is every 3 hrs or so. She gets puree before nap #1 and 1 hour or so before bed. Puffs and snacks a couple times a day, too. No to orajel. My parents and IL's don't really tell me what to do. Maybe they did with Lillian, but not much. My dad's gf does, but she's a nurse and it's often advice about medical stuff so it's not annoying. I'm pretty opinionated and independent so I think they just figure it's better to follow my lead. Or something? In Texas you can drink with your parents and buy wine and beer in the grocery store. Except on Sunday before noon for some reason. I've definitely bought alcohol with the girls alone. I just get the understanding, "I feel you girl" thing when I do that. But in CO, the beer in the grocery store is like 3.2%, so you have to buy everything at the liquor store. They're a lot more judgemental, too. And, Colorado pictures!

Hey guys! I'm back, I think. I've been skimming and LTing and hopefully I didn't miss anything too big.
I'm still just completely blown by the trial itself and especially the result. I didn't really want to go to work today--could have really used a quiet day to recover and maybe get a pedicure or something--but my other cases really couldn't be pushed aside any longer.

FFMC: I have used Orajel on C, and did with B, too. Oops? 😳 I've literally never seen anything until today that it shouldn't be used. We I did use teething tablets on B but have since read about the recall so have not used any with C.
C is still in 12 month sizes but will be in 18 by the end of the summer. My rule of thumb is to double their age, and you get the clothing size. So far that worked for B and C both, but we have giant children, so.

But I am also not taking old people's guidance. My problem is with non informed people telling me how I should take care of my kids.

I need some more kleigh storys in the private board. Can accommodate. ETA let me know if it's supposed to be just my drunk stories or embarrassing stories in general. Have both naturally.

classymrsa B started off as a chunky baby (born 9lb 10oz) but slimmed way down due to movement, picky eating, and unfortunately low supply when I was pregnant with J. At 12 months he was 22 lbs and now at almost 2 he's maybe 27 lbs. J on the other hand is already 23 lbs at 8 months old. He's in 18 month clothes whereas B can still wear 18 month pants. They both are in the same size diaper!

Hi!
I learned pretty quickly not to buy clothes too far in advance. Big Bro A is on the small size. I was trying to plan ahead and nothing was the right season by the time he fit. The downside to that is the kid had zero summer clothes until a few weeks ago. I'm not even going to pretend to know what size C will wear and when.
I think C is working on his top teeth. He is turning into a drool bucket and chomping away.
Speaking of chomping, I've decided to start the process of partial weaning. I'm hoping to drop my pump sessions and still nurse in the morning/night. Has anyone done this before?

buckyb I don't know that it completely applies because he was older and I wasn't pumping, but with DS, I weaned from BFing to just morning /night just before one year old (when I was returning to work). I weaned over several months from 5 feeds a day and overnight to just those two feeds. It didn't have any negative effect on my supply. I was able to continue with 2/ day for another 7 months before weaning completely.

Re: big babies/clothes. I'm so sad because I just put dd in the most adorable Carters romper yeaterday that I bought when they had a big sale a few weeks/months? ago. It's 9 month and just barely fits! She's going to be wearing this thing everyday so I get some good use out of it!
Ds was small and so he was on time or just behind with clothing sizes so I assumed the same would happen for dd. Guess I'll just have to buy more clothes!

Re clothes C was a total chubb. He has always been in bigger clothes (slowing down now at 4yo, except he is so darn tall). H, on the other hand is pretty much on par with his sizes (wore 0-3 until he tuned 3 months, wore 3-6 until about 6.5 months, now wearing 6-9/6-12 and it either fits nice or is big).
