Is it just K, or is this age an unhappy age? She's not ALWAYS screaming and crying, but man, she is a lot of the time. She threw a huge fit this morning because she couldn't carry her alarm clock around with her. I feel like anytime she hears no it is the END.OF.THE.WORLD. She used to be so happy and bubbly and now I feel like she's just a little screamy tyrant. I don't remember big sister being this way, but maybe she was. It was many years ago.

Also I totally forgot that DD1 was in time out until she called down just now. Oops. That was longer than it should have been. She can't even remember why she was in there. Mom fail.

tinydancer, congratulations!!! All of mine started as squinters, so I wouldn't discount anything just because of that. copperboom, count me in for the all whining all the time club. I've been trying to cut her some slack because she has gotten 10 (!!) teeth in the last 11 weeks, but seriously, I am really over it. Her last 1st molar just broke through, so I'm really hoping we get a teething break for a while. I recall the other DDs having very whiny phases, too. I just don't remember how long they lasted. That's probably for the best

Congratulations, tinydancer! We got DD our first month TFAS too. Best wishes to you!!! Us too! And I think S was the second month, but we weren't actually trying for him.

I just went to a baby shower where I literally knew no one, except for the mom to be. I'm not actually even sure why I was invited. But it was nice. She works for an animal rescue, and the shower was at the home of someone who fosters dogs for them. There were 5 or 6 dogs there. All very friendly.
That was the farthest I've ever driven myself, and I only got slightly lost trying to find the right house number, and I didn't get lost at all coming home. I'm very proud of myself.

I love her hair valiente! I hope you have a great trip! copperboom, DD went through a phase of this when she was teething and for what felt like FOREVER! Could that be it? Also how is her communication? DD is getting much better with her signs and that helps avoid lots of meltdowns because she can tell us what she wants for lots of things.

I think it is mostly it is communication. She signs more and please, says yes, no, mine, more, Dadda and Momma and maybe a few others I can't think of right now. It is also that she does not like to be told no.

Definitely wish I I had taken the time to teach some signs. There is a lot of lack of communication ability melt downs happening here. Also if she doesn't know how today what she wants she just screeches about it. Sounds par for the course. I have noticed a little jump in the vocabulary though. So maybe there will be an improvement.

It's never too late for signing kcrkcs! At this age they pick up on it so fast. Check out baby signing time in YouTube.

Wah!! So I came to the ER this morning because the pain was worsening. CT scan showed diverticulitis. Ugh. Gonna get a round of antibiotics. But aren't I too young for this!?!?

My mother decided that we should take the kids to the spray park today, which is fine. But she forgot to mention it to me, so I had to run back in to the city to get their swim suits. Oh well. Didn't use much gas, and I got a few minutes alone with my tunes.
Re: 50 shades, my sister and I saw it in theaters. We smoked a joint before we went in. Much laughing.

Both of my girls are 50 shades kids. H and I have seen the first movie which resulted in lots of laughing. I tried to watch the second one but it was a bad download and was tired of the subtitles. scorpioscuba I'm sorry about the diverticulitis. tinydancer Congratulations! valiente it's gorgeous! you have to teach me about this curly hair stuff. Ls always looks like she was in a fight with a badger. Gosh, I don't know much yet. I wash it every three days-ish and condition afterward. Mornings it is dampened and gets Aveda damage repair product in it before being combed with a wide-tooth comb. We still have the "fight with a badger" look after nap time though.

I could nap. The spray park was tiring. And I didn't sleep well last night. I thought M would nap well after being outside for awhile, but so far, no such luck.

It's 100 degrees here today! We have AC and a nice shady tree in the front yard, so we are staying pretty comfortable despite the heat. Dd2 was loving the sprinkler, but Dd1 spent most of the time being worried about bugs. scorpioscuba - sorry to hear about the diverticulitis! Hopefully the antibiotics help, and at least you know what's causing your pain now. Were your parents back to watch dd? Lots of whining and throwing fits here, too. Some of it is not being able to communicate as well as she'd like, but I think it's mostly wanting something she can't have and not yet having the emotional skills to deal with that frustration. Or maybe desiring some independence and control over her life, but still obviously too young to have much at all. Like she HATES getting her diaper changed, and acts like I'm trying to do something horrible to her every single time, but clearly it's not optional. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh! And I made these burritos for dinner last night and they were a big hit! All four of us loved them. I stopped making burritos at home a long time ago because I thought they never turned out that great, but I think they are going back in the rotation. I added a little bit of rice and avocado to these. Left the onion out for the dds. www.dinneralovestory.com/you-make-it-you-own-it/Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, they came back and my mom watched DD so I could go in first thing this morning.
Those bean burritos look awesome! I'm adding this to our list. Thanks for sharing!
