Last night was a complete shit show. Faith didn't sleep great at daycare (which is actually still normal for her) and didn't sleep great when I picked her up at 3:00 and was super cranky all evening so she was in bed asleep a few minutes after 8:00. She then woke up twice before midnight (one paci and one bottle), three times between midnight and 1:30 (2 comforting/paci and one bottle plus some Tylenol in case she was in pain) again at 4:30 (bottle and more Tylenol) that actually woke DH up so he took a shift with her so I could sleep, then she woke up again around 5:30-6:00 and she ended up in our bed where she whimpered and fussed every 20ish minutes until the alarm went off. Guys, I think last night may have been worse than the newborn stage.
She was MAD when she was up too. Screaming, arching her back, digging her toes into my leg, grabbing her sleeper and pulling on it... I have no idea why.
Today should be a slow day at work, then I need to run a few errands and mop the floors and run the vacuum before DH's parent get into town sometime this afternoon. I'm going to try to make some chocolate chip cookies but I'm not sure I will have the energy.
I hope you all had a better night than we did!
One year ago today was our Level II ultrasound with Faith where we got the all clear that she was healthy. Two years ago yesterday was our Level II ultrasound with Ava where we found out she was sick. It feels weird to not be pregnant in the fall...

We had a really rough night too. Not sure what's going on. DH taught the toddler the phrase "are your eyeballs floating?" As asking him to go potty. Toddler proceeded to ask everyone in the house if their eyeballs were floating this morning, including the baby. I hope he doesn't teach the kids at daycare.....

Is there a 8 mo growth spurt I wonder. Baby slept fine but was up way earlier than normal. And yesterday at daycare she couldn't go a full 3 hours between bottles.

I looked this up last night during one of my many wakeups. They say 6 and 9 months are big growth spurts. Faith is 6.75 so it is possible she is having a growth spurt, but who knows.

Add me to the rough night club....so tired! We had been getting pretty consistent 7 hour stretches at least but the past two nights he was up a few times. I am a zombie today! DH has been travelling for work all week and I am SO ready for him to come home tonight. Is it Friday yet?!

Morning! Last night was actually better than the last few. So that feels much better haha.
This week is my self care time before H starts going back to work more frequently next week. My mom and I had a great time at our manis last night (and got coordinated team colour nails for the football game we’re going to this weekend haha) and I have a hair appointment this afternoon for my first colour since last fall! Then tonight I’m taking DD1 to her first dance class registration night. See what it’s like, but we think dance is something she’ll really enjoy!
Have a good day!

I don't have the luxury of doing once a year color! No joke if I stretch my color to 8 weeks I look like an old lady. My temples are probably 75-80% gray and I'm "only" 37.

I only slept 20 minutes all night. No exaggeration. It had nothing to do with the baby. My insomnia was just awful. I am exhausted.
I did manage to snag nkotb tickets though and that was a nice surprise. It was super frustrating trying to get them so I didn’t think I was going to succeed.

My kid is finally sleeping (not consistently). I got 6 hour stretch for the first time in 10 months. I was ready to go at 4am, but still managed to go back to sleep after I fed L until 6:30. Not sure what’s on the agenda, maybe park? I am currently sucked in to bachelor in paradise but should get up and shower before L wakes up.

Thanks. If I do, it will be very short. MH will come home for his lunch break which means he will be here for barely more than an hour. I will nap then. Other than that, I am alone until 7:15

V keeps pulling up the corners of the rugs and looking underneath, it is so stinkin cute! ETA: it's like she is checking to see if there's anything good there.

Our sleep has been rather crummy too. I’m trying to take advantage of a Shutterfly sale and make my Disney World photo album. I started with 1600 photos. 😳😳😳 I’ve weeded out a ton and I’m now at 497. Still a ways to go though. The sale goes through Sunday. Hopefully I can put together something by then!

OMG pippiann, I tried to watch some of bachelor in paradise the other night but it was just a bunch of dudes laying around on beach towels gossiping and I just couldn't do it! I want some crappy TV in my life but can't handle it at the same time. I do turn on Big Brother every now and then if I am awake/downstairs while it is on.

I was freaking out b/c I go back to work on 8/27....so I did 18 freezer meals today. Doubled up most things so there's about 10-11 different dishes but I'm feeling a lot better now. I can't believe I got it all done!

Our sleep has gone to complete shit. H has been rolling belly-back for a little while now but has finally mastered it. She’s a belly sleeper and whenever she’s in between sleep cycles, she wakes up and rolls over and gets stuck on her back like a little beetle. She flails around and completely wakes herself up and can’t soothe herself back to sleep. I don’t know what to do 😩 I think she has a couple more teeth coming thru which is making her wake up more as well, so that and the rolling thing has us up all hours of the night. She was up at 12, 1, 130, 5, and up for the day at 630. At the 1:00 wake up, I had MH go in and flip her back to her belly and he got her back to sleep, but she never got in a deep enough sleep and woke up again half hour later.
I’m a zombie. It’s been this way for the past couple weeks. I remember this exact thing happening with dd1 and I think we just rode it out until she mastered rolling back-belly. But man this sucks

Today was my DD1’s 2nd birthday! We went to a trampoline park during toddler time and she had a blast. Having a small family party Sunday. Sleep has been shitty here too.

Mongolian chicken, white chicken chili, lime shredded pork, balsamic beef with carrots, chick pea curry, Moroccan chick pea stew, meatballs That's all I can think of but there's at least another. Those are mostly doubled and I also have a lentil shepherds pie I did a couple days ago. Oh sausage and peppers. Most dishes will go in instant pot and I'll add rice or quinoa.

Knock on wood our sleep at night is still going well. It's just while he's awake that he screams non stop. He has major separation anxiety. Its frustrating not to be able to walk away without getting screamed at.

I stepped away from the table to rinse a couple of dishes when we were done with dinner. The girls were eating lemon muddy buddies. I had my back turned for maybe 30 seconds, and I heard DD2 dump a ton of puffs on DD4’s tray. I started to reprimand her and noticed a chex/muddy buddy stick to DD4’s chin. Apparently DD3 tried to feed her one. I can’t stop replaying the damn scenario in my head. And now I seriously can’t trust any of my children. My anxiety is on high alert.

ajetter I'm so sorry. We constantly have to remind DS1 not to feed DS2 especially when he's had peanut butter or nuts on his hands.

Speaking of which have you guys done pb yet? I feel like we should get on that here but I haven't! What about other major allergens? Maybe I'll try to remember and do eggs or something tomorrow.

We don't do a lot of solids yet but with my other kids I wasn't overly cautious with allergens. I think research now says early exposure is better anyway. Eggs are such an excellent BLW food! We don't eat shellfish and she has done fine with dairy (we FF). We will probably introduce PB in the next month or two. I can't think of other major allergens at the moment.

We have done eggs, dairy and strawberries. Strawberries aren’t a super common allergen but my brother is allergic so I am cautious when introducing it. PB is next on my allergen list to try.

I had to reach my wits end with DD1 in order to successfully get any sleep training done. Well, last night was my wits end with dd2. I let her CIO and she ended up figuring it out and gave me a 4.5 hour stretch... which is prob the longest stretch we’ve had in 2 weeks
