Yes, so was I! I hope you guys had a blast like we did. How is C liking preschool so far? She likes it. She peed her pants during the nap today though I'm glad she likes it. Hopefully no more accidents, but they happen.

Ugh can someone PM me the private password again? Also, have we changed it recently? I can’t remember who has access to it.

Betweenthelines, kindergarten transition is harder than i expected. dd is wiped out at night AND in the morning. Today she was so whiney and clingy and just HAD to bring her blankie in the car....she hasn't touched her blankie in months.

RunsforWineandCarbs, thankfully DD is handling it well. Today IS only day 2, but so far so good. It's just extra stuff for me to do that I'm trying to get a groove going with (packing her lunch, making sure her backpack is all good, etc) and now I'm driving to 2 day cares (in opposite directions) after I get off the train in the afternoons.

We are going to start touring pre-k programs for next fall. We have universal pre-k, but it’s a whole thing where you make a list ranking your choices and then there’s a weighted lottery and you get placed. And then you do it all over for kindergarten. Tours start now and applications are due in the spring. I am excited to not have to pay for daycare. One more year!

Betweenthelines I feel you on getting into the new routine. I have to ensure M has everything for school, daycare and my dad's depending on the day. But I'm lazy and have him eat at school. I'll happily spend that $1.35 a day!

I'll happily spend that $1.35 a day! oh, trust, at DC they ate all the food they provided... DD technically COULD buy lunch at school, but they don't get a lot of time to eat. I'm thinking with her just starting K, it may be too overwhelming with buying lunch, carrying the tray of food, etc. She also told me yesterday that not one kindergartner bought lunch. I'm going to feel it out a little later into the school year and revisit maybe having her try to buy.

We're 3 weeks into kindergarten and it's going great! Both kids love it and they're doing really well with being separated for the first time. The new schedule is definitely a big adjustment and they only just dropped naps 2 weeks before school started. So everyone is tired and cranky here, and we're struggling to get the kids into bed early enough. And making lunch every night sucks. It's 11:07pm here and I still need to go take care of that... Abigail started half-day preschool yesterday and loved it. It's the first time I've dropped her off and left her anywhere. Fortunately she bonded with the teachers on visiting day so drop off went fine. She even made a friend yesterday that she talked about all afternoon.

J had no problem going into his new preschool room at daycare today. We even had progress in potty training. His teacher suggested bringing some underwear in to put over his diaper. I may even try to do just underwear this weekend. EEEEK!

Pizzaslut, would the daycare be willing to try JUST underwear? DS could care less that his underwear were over his diaper. What really helped him click was having accidents in his underwear. It only took a week & a half of extra laundry but it worked

He’s supposed to be potty trained to start in this room so I’m sure they want to hurry it along as much as I do.

That's what we did with M. I used the shells from the cloth diapers over his underwear. It has taken a little over a month, but now he is mostly in underwear with minimal accidents (aside from night time. We are no where ready to look at night time training! Lol) Good luck this weekend.

My heart.... I got some school info out of Isaac today. Rare. And I’m not sure when this happened but we are only on day 4.
One of Isaacs classmates was really upset on the playground. He was in kinder with her. She wanted one of her old classmates from kindergarten to push her and play (she’s in a wheel chair). That person ran off to play somewhere else. He said he tried to make her feel better by saying things like “you can try playing with her next time” and he said “I also tried taking deep breaths with her and she did for a little bit”
You guys we work so hard on this. So hard and he’s trying to teach others these techniques.
