Hello! I have a 5 year old kindergartener so idk how much of a sahm I am anymore but he can give me so much trouble leaving in the morning, the days sure go by fast & before I know it, it's time to pick him up already! I wish there were jobs in between his school hours but there's just not. The few that I've found didn't want to hire me so home I stay. I used to post on tcf's sahp's page but it was pretty dead, hopefully this place can stay active.

Hello! I'm currently a SAH mom. I wasn't too active back on TCF but hoping to change that once we've established where we're staying.
I'm Canadian, married to my H for 5 years now. I'm a mom to a 3 yr old boy and a 3 month old baby girl. H and I are in talks about me going back to work in 2018. For income sake, I may go back part time at least.

This is something I worry about, I've got a few years before it's my reality but what am I suppose to do when they are both in school? I know I won't be ready to go back to work full time because I'll want to be available for the endless sick/vacation/conference/teacher work days. But man it sure would be nice to have extra money again😬

Hi! I'm a SAHM to two DD's ages 6 and 3. My six year old is almost done SK and my three year old who will be four by the end of the year will start JK this fall. I'm home pretty much out of necessity at this point. MH and I have have no real outside support system. For me to go back to work full time would actually hurt us more than help us financially so here I am. I've been married for almost nine years and I live in Ontario.

Hey all. I SAH with my 3. DS1 is 6 and finishing kindergarten next week. DD is almost 4 and her last day of preschool (K3) is tomorrow. DS2 just turned 2 last week.
I've been a SAHM since my oldest was born. I've been slowly working on doula certifications and plan on working with postpartum moms when my littlest is in school full time. In the mean time, I volunteer by leading my local Hike it Baby group.

It's a weird spot to be in because I like being available for all his days off/field trips/conferences/snow days, etc but extra money sure would be nice. If only a lucrative legit online job would exist. Bahahaha

I tried to get a feel for what was out there job wise about a year ago and it wasn't good. I did clerical work before I had my kids and those jobs don't pay well unless I worked in another city or found a big employer to work for. To get into a big company you usually need to know someone. I just saw that and realized with the way our life is plus MH works 12 hour shifts that it wasn't going to work.

Hi! I'm a SAHM of an almost-18-month-old. Looked into going back to work but daycare costs in my area are truly nuts and it didn't make sense for me to work full-time just to pay for daycare. So I'm SAHMing for the foreseeable future.

Hello, I'm a SAHM to a 4 year old boy who just graduated from Pre-K and a 2 year old girl. They'll be 5 and 3 in the summer. I worry too about going back to work, but I still have a couple years until DD is 5.

Hi all! Jumping in too! I chimed in a few times on TCF.
I have been a SAHM for about 2 years. It was never my plan, but after my son was born I knew it is what I wanted to do. My DS is 2.5 years old and we have another little boy due in August!
I am still trying to figure things out as a SAHM, I have good days and bad days! We do the parks, mommy and me, and group things, but I still always worry about socializing! I am thinking perhaps a week or two of summer camp would be a good trial for him!
When both kids are in school I will probably head back to work, but nothing is set in stone! I do miss my job, but I enjoy being home and being a full time mommy!

Hi! I'm a SAHM to 4&5 year old girls and currently 13 weeks preggo. We moved a state away from family and friends for boyfriends job (we have been together forever just doing kids and houses before a wedding haha) about 4 years ago now. I was a nurse before the move but with no help and his demanding/always changing work schedule, it was near impossible for me to work. It was a hard adjustment at first but now this is my new norm

Hi everyone. I'm a SAHM to a 2yo son.
Add me to the list of little outside support. IL's are overseas and my family is 2-3 hours away and rarely visits. I feel like we're always expected to pick up everything and visit them despite my parents and step parents all being retired.
I try to keep busy with mom groups and toddler activities but haven't really found my niche yet. We did MOPS this past "semester" and though the women were lovely it was not for me. Thinking about giving the local MOMs group a try next.

I want to go here!
I stay home with my July '15 girl and my 14-week old boy. I'm drowning a little bit with the whole two under to thing, but it's got it's good sides.
I'm already dreading returning to work, for the same reasons others have said. Realistically I will be home at least until 2022, but how does one work only during school hours? Ugh.
Seriously considering learning Spanish so I can look at translating as a career. I live very close to Mexico.

Stay at home parent to s1 who is 5 and starts kindergarten in the fall. I also have S2 who will be 2 in July (but I'm an aug15 bmb as he came early), I plan to get a job as an aide in the school district my kids go to school in. That way we have the same days off.

I hope you can find something that works for you!

I'll jump in since ktg is here! I stay at home with my almost 4yo (August 13) and almost 2yo (July 15) boys. I'm the secretary in my MOMS club and they are my lifeline. I taught first grade and kindergarten before my first was born.
