katietopaz your MIL sounds amazing. It sounds like it was a fun day. We just got done with L’s 4 month appointment. He barely cries after the shots. He cries worse when I try to put him to bed awake. He is a tank (DS1 was too). He is 17 lbs 2 oz (74th percentile) and 27 inches (97th percentile). I don’t know what it is like to have a little baby. I have started moving L up to 6-9 month clothes 😭

woodenshoes We have our 4m appointment today, too. I have maybe been having literal nightmares about her crying at me today about the shots. We're also in 6m clothes, who approved this?!! I demand answers and my little baby back. D:

Does anyone have the summer infant 3D lite stroller? It’s on amazon for $57 today. Seems like a pretty good price to me. Would you recommend it?

I need to get in shape you guys. I’m carrying around way to much weight - and I’ve lost the baby weight already.
My problem is I don’t know where to squeeze it in. I’m up at 4:30 to feed baby, shower, dress, pump, and be out the door by 6. I get home around 6. My lunch break is divided up at work to pump... bedtime starts at 8, and it takes a good hour to hour and half for her to nurse and be done - she clusters at night before sleep but she is STTN.
She nurses when I walk in at 6, so I could squeeze in a workout around 7? Ideas for something quick and easy at first? I have PIYO I could do?
I just have serious mommy guilt for taking that time around my kids who have not seen me since the night before... they are still asleep when I leave in the morning.

yianna can you add any family exercise in? I know it’s stupid hot right now, but are y’all YMCA/gym members? Or is there a shady park near you? We try to do family walks and I add in lunges and some sprint “races” with DD1. I also think at this age/point in life for me that food is about 4 times more important than exercise in terms of losing weight. Can you do a Whole30? Weight watchers? I lost a lot of weight on W30 a few years ago and just allowed myself red wine 😂 I think I’m going to try it again once I go back to work. My sister is trying the Keto diet for a month - long term it’s not good for you, but if you’re just trying to reset some habits and drop some weight, it may be a good option.

I feel your pain yianna. I SAH and I can’t figure out how to get the time to exercise. I’ve been averaging one workout a week (also PiYo) sometimes I can sneak in a walk but it’s been too hot to take the baby out.

I would totally do low carb right now except it has always killed my milk supply. I’m like teetering in that if you cut too many calories or carbs area, my supply tanks. It’s sucky.

Will Keto work maybe bc it’s high fat? ...I’m just embracing the extra 15lbs ATM bc I don’t think I can drop them without cutting the calories and killing my supply. I’m just shopping a lot and buying up all my favorite styles on Poshmark. I have 4 new pairs of pixie pants from ON and 6 new sidewalk skirts JCrew I bought for less than 150$!!

yianna I don’t what kind of job you have but can you get up and walk a couple laps around your office periodically throughout the day? I am in the mind set that every step counts. I also try to focus on food more. I did Weight Watchers and only focused on diet and lost 50 pounds. That was 8 years ago. I don’t breastfeed so I don’t have to worry about milk supply like you. I am trying to move more myself, but the heat has made it difficult and when I am exhausted it is tough to motivate myself.

I walk back and forth from my desk to the mommy room 4x a day - it’s a good 5 minute walk each way and I speed walk! And low carb/High fat still kills my supply. Plus I worry about ketones being in breast milk. It’s crazy right? My eating isn’t horrid right now. I prob just need to use my fitness pal to log food.

Maybe try reducing most carbs but keep oatmeal in your diet to keep your supply up? I have about 10 lbs I want to lose but I don't know how to do it without my supply tanking. Unlike you though I am on mat leave and do have time for daily exercise. I couldn't imagine adding daily exercise to your day.

yianna this probably isn't what you want to hear but this is what my OB told me when I had my first. I think you'll probably need to wait until you stop nursing to really focus on the weight. If your supply is sensitive to your diet, and you're already eating reasonably clean, you'll be limited in what you can accomplish. And the season of your life where you are a working mom AND nursing is very, very challenging. I remember that very well. I would leave my house for work at 5:45 and got home around 5:30, so similar schedule. I aimed for 3 workouts a week. Twice on weekends and one evening a week, after work. We made arrangements for my husband to pick the baby up so I could go straight to the gym. I added in a pumping session before working out. It was the absolute maximum I could get away with. And TBH although I felt great, I didn't lose the last 15 pounds I wanted to until the month I weaned. It is what it is. Be kind to yourself. It won't last forever.

Also adding in that if you feel the need to lose weight out of guilt or societal pressure, fuck that noise. You made a goddamn human and you are now feeding that human with your body, so fuck anyone or anything that makes you feel like you need to "spring back" so quickly. I can guarantee not a single one of your children gives a crap if you have a few extra pounds hanging around. If you want to lose weight, just make sure it's for your own "selfish reasons" and only your own "selfish reasons", okay? *hugs*
(I say "selfish reasons" because it's not really selfish to feel good in your own body, it's your goddamn right, but sometimes giving yourself permission to take control of your body can feel selfish.)

It’s more my comfort. My knees hurt from the extra weight. You know? I’m not going to give up breastfeeding though so I just gotta suck it up and find something that works...

What about working out at home with the kids? Like doing a short at home workout like BBM but while the kids are awake. DS1 loves it so much and we just bought him his own weights (little 2lbers that are so cute). It’s 20 mins, a really decent workout and my 4 yr old has loved it for 2 years. I feel you though. It’s hard to be patient especially when the weight is interfering with your day to day life. And balancing everything is a mental and physical workout already.

Also hi everyone. Sleep regressing over here. It’s 4am and we’ve been up about 1000x already tonight.
We leave for our road trip vacation on Tuesday so that seems about right.

Ellie was coughing a lot all night. I feel like I want to take her to the doctors, but I mean, she seems okay other than the cough? I don't know...

I had my work computer on my counter while I was baking a million things for Em's birthday yesterday. Now it has flour all over it. Whoops.

A only woke up 2 times last night! I don’t know if it’s because of immunizations the other day or what but I hope it continues.

I'm sorry leatherpants. We had one week of really shitty sleep all around. But it was followed by 3 nights of 4-7 hour stretches. We are now at 3-4 hour wakeups but I can handle those a lot better than the 1-2 hours during her regression. Hopefully your guy's regression is short lived too.

I'm trapped under a sleeping baby. She woke up happy but when we came downstairs she was crying her awful sad cry and I couldn't calm her. I noticed her bottom gums are super swollen so I gave her Tylenol and that helped. I desperately need to shower but she has not been napping well and I'm glad she is finally getting a good nap in.

Does anyone know if the sleep regression is supposed to happen 4 months after the birth date or is it adjusted for due date? It hasn't hit us yet but it could at any time if it is birth date.

It's just around 4 months I don't think it's at 4 months exactly. Ours hit about two weeks before she hit 4 months.
