Milestones: Nothing really this week.
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? My lower back hurt so bad trying to fall asleep last night. I'm think of looking into if there are any chiropractors in the area who specialize in pregnant women.
Pregnancy related questions: Do you have a linea nigra? Has your belly button popped and/or did it with your other pregnancies? Linea nigra - I don't have one yet, but I did get one with DS. It never got that dark, but it was definitely there. So I assume I'll get it again this time. Belly button - My belly button is such an innie normally I don't think it could ever really "pop". However it has completely flattened out.

When is your due date? How far along are you? Sept 20th, 28 weeks
How big is baby? Eggplant
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Blue
Any Upcoming Appointments? I'm going to try to get in with someone today because I'm in so much pain.
Symptoms: I've been dealing with almost unbearable hip and leg pain (just on one side) for the last few days. I can barely walk! Also it was a long weekend here so nothing's been open. I'm going to call my OB's office as soon as they open this morning, and also try to get in for massage and physio. Fingers crossed that something helps because tylenol doesn't touch it and I can't sleep.
Milestones: Third tri!
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? No linea nigra this time or last. My belly button is a pretty deep innie and hasn't popped or really even flattened much.

How big is baby? Atlantic Puffin
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Blue
Any Upcoming Appointments? July 16th midwife
Symptoms: Feet hurting if I stand too long. Sciatic nerve pain.
Milestones: Another week!
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions?
Pregnancy related questions: I had one with DD and it started super early but not one with this pregnancy. I think I can see a slight one beginning at the bottom half but nothing near what I had with DD. I have super deep and round innie belly button and it didn't pop with DD but flattened. This time, I'm noticing more of a bump through my clothes by the belly button, but I don't think it will pop. I think it's more from the hole of my old belly ring.

I'm also quite fair, but I did have a linea nigra with DS. I assume I'll have it again. Funny you ask about this, cause I was just wondering the other night when it would show up! I'm actually surprised it's not there yet. My belly button stays all flattened out. It still has a little bit of room to go so far.

Since we were talking about belly buttons, I had my belly out while sitting on the couch. DD came over and started poking it and asked what the hole on the top was. I told her that mommy used to have a ring in it like I do in my nose. She said "actually, it's an anus mommy." 🤣 I knew it looked like a butthole!!

Speaking of belly button rings - that's on my rather short list of things I regret doing in life. Thanks 1990s....
Although, aren't people still doing this? I don't know how it's still a thing!

That and my tramp stamp. I don't know if it's still a "thing". I don't really think I've seen the younger generations really have them.

I have mine done and loved it. Until I had DS. The hole definitely stretched out so it looks terrible without a ring in but the ring is now a bit too lose when I put it back after delivery. I try not to regret it because I loved having it for so long, but if I could go back I'd skip ever getting it done in the first place. The hole seemed to be tightening up with time after DS so granted I have to start over again I'm hoping it will look ok again eventually.

I still have my belly button pierced. I don't really notice it and kind of forget about it most of the time but I don't necessarily regret it. I do buy long, flexible acrylic retainer rings for when I'm pregnant. I'd probably get more piercings as well if I had not become such a wuss about the pain in my "old" age lol

Nymeria I wonder if someone could help you close the hole a little after babies - like they can with the stretched earlobes. I took mine out probably 18 years ago, but the scar is ugly and I've hated it. And then with DS, the weakened, scarred skin there allowed for one of my only two stretch marks to spread off from it. The stretch mark is hardly noticeable but the belly button ring's scar itself is bigger and uglier!

I've heard of women keeping them in, but I just can't imagine it with how stretched out my belly button skin got while pregnant! And hey, if you can handle the journey to motherhood, you can totally handle the pain of a little ol' piercing 😉

But I definitely had to change it out to one of these. They're 1.25 inches long and super flexible so I don't even notice them. With my first pregnancy I made it almost to 3rd tri before I switched them but this time I made it to 6 weeks before my old bars were irritating the skin lol www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RXB9CR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Has anyone thought about cord blood banking? I didn’t do it with DD because $$$, but I’m considering it for this baby. Seems like a good idea long term but I can never tell how much of the promo materials are just hype.

chriskoo - I prefer to do delayed cord clamping which I believe means nothing left for banking so I never even looked into it.

I took mine out after first trimester with DD mostly because my piercing doesn't seem to have a lot of skin. I had it since 2001, so I was kind of over it at that point.

I would probably prefer it too, but we had to cut dd's cord before she was even all the way out so it wasn't applicable, but maybe this time it will happen.

We had that we preferred delayed cord clamping written in our birth preferences. We also told the Dr at delivery. It did not happen that way though. DS needed some help to start breathing on his own and the Dr told MH we didn't have time to delay and had him cut the cord quickly. We'll try for it again this time 😊

It was standard practice at this hospital, and with the midwife practice and in my birth plan so everyone was on same page.
