...WTF
I got a bill over the weekend for $25 from the cardiologist I haven't seen since my palpitation appointments back in March. I had 2 appointments with them, both of which I paid on my credit card at the time of the visits. Well one of the visits had a duplicate payment taken out of my HSA so I called my HSA bank and they cancelled payment.
Well apparently the cardiologist office tried to cash the check, even though my account had a zero balance, and was charged a $25 fee because the check had been cancelled. The lady at the billing office tells me "well, we were charged the $25 so someone has to pay it" to which I basically sat quietly on the phone until she finally says "we'll take care of it, we'll have to see if insurance company will pay it."
I am not paying a $25 fee because I was charged twice for an appointment!!! What, I should have let the $400 duplicate payment go through then have to run around trying to get reimbursed? Hell no.

Celebrated my birthday yesterday with my mom and dad. It really was just laid back and didn't do anything aside from that. This week will be crazy because we are preparing for DD's 3rd bday party Sunday. My SO's mom will be in town two days this week too.
Got to snuggle my friend's baby Saturday. Two friends had their babies and my friend from france is stopping but with her baby and toddler. So much baby love!

Nymeria medical billing and insurance infuriates me to the brink of insanity. I just got a bill a couple months ago for something that should have been taken care of TWO YEARS AGO. I gave them the proper insurance info on multiple occasions and yet they never billed it to my insurance. And they didn't bother to send me a follow up bill for nearly two years! Now my insurance co says it's been too long and they will not cover it.... Well, I sure as hell am not paying it because someone there cannot do their job!!! And that's on top of another claim for a follow up hearing exam for DS that I've been fighting for a YEAR NOW and am having to go through the appeal process. Pain in my ass 😵 End rant! Ha! Good luck with your billing issue!

My BIL, SIL and fam are in town and we're going to the zoo today. Wish me luck that I survive the walking! I remembered to bring my support belt 😉

tbirdlove - 2 years?? That's ridiculous!! Have fun today! Hope the belt works well! Right?! At least it's a bill I'd actually seen before and had dealt with after the initial test. Apparently it's legal for medical facilities to bill you for things for up to several years??!? Wtf?! Like, to send you a NEW Bill for something! I had to Google a little cause I was so surprised by the two year old bill! If they're allowed to bill you for that long, you'd think your insurance would have to cover it for that long..... Who knows. The whole thing is so ridiculous.

Went to go check out a Used Britax double stroller to buy. The lady ended up giving it to me for FREE!!! See, this is why I can't imagine paying several hundreds of dollars for a stroller. I'll deal with something I'm not perfectly in love with to have all that extra money in my pocket. 😱

My double stroller is going to be the most expensive thing we buy for this LO. We do daily walks with the dog though so I feel like it's worth it.

We all have different priorities. Mine is usually, how can I get what I need but spend the least amount of money. I'll say it again, I'm cheap AF!

Has anyone been offered and got the tdap this pregnancy? The nurse that talked to me about it stated it’s recommended every pregnancy so I got it. I can’t remember if my SO is supposed to get it too, does anyone remember or know?

mirabelle - It is recommended moms get it every pregnancy, but the shot is good for 10 years so if those around you got it within the time frame they would be all set. I will be getting it in the next month or so, but MH doesn't need one since his is only 2 years old. I did request my parents and MH's parents get it, but didn't go any further than that. They had all had the shot in the past 10 years when DS was born so I need to double check these additional 2 years haven't pushed any of them outside the 10 year range.

pixiepink24 that’s amazing! What a nice lady! Nymeria what double stroller are you thinking of getting? I think I want the baby jogger city select luxe but I’m open to suggestion. I hate my graco stroller from DD so I’m going to sell it.

mirabelle I got the TDAP this week. From what I understand the purpose of pregnant moms getting it is to pass immunity on to baby for those early months before they can get vaccinated. So it’s more important for moms than other family members. The thing I’m uptight about is insisting my close family members get their flu shot. Especially with this baby being born near flu season I’ll be bringing it up to everyone again this time.

mirabelle +1 to what the others said about the TDap. I'll get another one at some point this pregnancy. I assume sometime soon by the sounds of it!

Yeah, I've been in some pain and struggling to walk since we got home! And unfortunately I expect it to last a few days 😔 I did some stretches and that helped loosen things back up a liiiiittttle bit. But the pubic bone pain doesn't seem to be relenting! I considered trying to ice it 😂

chriskoo - UPPAbaby Vista. I tried out a bunch of single strollers when pregnant with DS and ended up going with the UPPAbaby Cruz. I love it and nothing else came close for me when testing them the first time around so I'm going for a Vista this time without even looking at anything else.

One of my projects won Gold for our Continuous Quality Improvement team awards last week. The team photo was posted in our campus update and I look like my due date was some time last week. Yikes. Only 11w6d-ish to go.

Funny we were just talking about the TDap yesterday. This morning my OB was like "So, it's time for your TDap." I'm like oh, ok. Unfortunately it was the same appt as my glucose test, so I had to be poked for the blood draw and then the shot too. Plus I'll still have to stick myself tonight, so I'm feeling like a right pin cushion right now. It's so silly, I get antsy for shots at the doctors and stuff even though I do them every day myself! I don't know why I get a little nervous about it!

tbirdlove - I've never had to stick myself but I imagine there's something to the fact that you're completely in control when you do it yourself as opposed to someone else sticking you.
