I called to check on L at daycare around 11:00 and they told me that he had been napping for about 1.5 hours in his crib there. He never naps in his crib for that long at home. I guess the early morning wake up really exhausted him. Bloody daycare magic! DS1 hasn’t napped at home for well over a year but has an hour to two hour nap at daycare every time. Whhhhhhyyyyyyyy???????

sunshinedaisies that’s rough I hope your little dude feels better ASAP. I’m taking my giant baby for his two month health check today and I’m excited/scared to find out how much he weighs. I can barely rock him standing up in the MOTN without feeling like my arms will fall off. Here he is at 2 months in the pants that DS1 didn’t fit into until he was 6 months. Poofed pic

mattsgirl2004, it is a bit reassuring given your previous experience with DD2. Will the condition improve or resolve with age? Or like asthma, they grow up with it? Sorry for nosy questions. I've heard about neutropenia if one is given chemotherapy for cancer, just not in childhood. We're hoping it will resolve with age. Considering we never figured out what form of Neutropenia our daughter has, we won't know for sure. Lately she's had good levels and then really low levels. So, we don't know if she's growing out of it or if its just how her body is when it comes to the Neutropenia. It's all still a mystery and now we'll add Ryan to all of this. Lots of unanswered questions it seems.

I had my IUD inserted this morning! I was nervous because the one I had before hurt a bit going in, but it was totally painless. Glad to hear it was painless. I have my appt scheduled for two weeks from now. I am a little 😳 about it cause the doctor couldn't get one in before I got pregnant/gave birth ask that was quite an experience.

DS2 had his 2-month checkup today. He weighs a whopping 15lbs 4oz 😳 He’s in the 96th percentile for weight and 99th for height. DS1 was always in the teens percentile-wise, so this is totally new territory for me. I’m a little sad that the tiny newborn stage went SO quickly this time, but I’m just glad he’s doing well. nevertoomanyshoes I’m curious about your LO! Here’s a chunky baby pic from today, PDQ

Owen has an appointment this morning to get his lip tie released and I’m dreading it. I remember the procedure with DD and feel awful that I’m taking him, but nursing is still so painful that I neeeeeed to.

I found a picture of DD when she was 2 months old. I think J looks just like her. Also, how is J almost 2 months old? I feel like I just had him. The first picture is DD, the second is J.

ArielMermaid, I’m glad your power is back on. Hope you don’t lose it again later. We used to have a power outage every time it rained...it sucked.

Hakaaa - it’s hit or miss with me. If you have turned down boobs (where Areola and nip points down) the Hakaa doesn’t stay on well - at least for me. When I do get enough suction though and it says on I can catch half an ounce or so.
A friend of mine though - she’s a milk machine and can catch 4-5 ounces on her side she’s not nursing. She also pumps to donate milk.

Oh my gosh, that sounds awful! My doctor said the difference in discomfort between women who have had kids and women who haven't is huge, so hopefully it goes smoothly for you this time!

Why do people think it is okay to take your stuff while on maternity leave? I went into the office to pick something up and the risers under my computer monitors have been switched out. The ones I had we're drawers and they have been changed to regular risers. It isn't as if they were empty so they took my risers and all my supplies. This is on top of my chair already being "borrowed" by my teams temp executive assistant.

So I got a surprise this morning. My ILs called *on their way to my house*!!! Wtf? They live 3 1/2 hours away. They booked a hotel (thank god!) and they are staying the rest of the week. I’m dumbfounded. As if I didn’t have enough to do this week before we leave town Friday, now I have them to keep track of. They are not independent or helpful. It took them 7 weeks to meet their grandson but at least they’ve now met him I suppose.

MIL and SFIL haven't met L yet at almost 10 weeks and FIL hasn't acknowledged his existence. Our relationship with FIL is strained to say the least.

My in-laws haven't met E yet either. It's a 6 hour drive but they're both retired sooo. SIL and her family have been down to visit twice already.

I hope you're able to get your stuff back. I was annoyed about the chair because they were expensive and it was based on seniority to get one. I didn't actually get one to begin with but had to ask a girl that was leaving for another job for hers. Her reason was that someone took her chair. Then why didn't she go find hers instead of taking mine?? I only didn't insist on it going back into my office because our regular EA will have no problem giving it back to me and now I k ow anything will be taken. The drawers will be replaced before I go back because our regular EA will be back from mat leave before me and will get more ordered. I am more annoyed about the supplies because I had accumulated the hoghlighters and such for specific tasks that I have and now I have to do it all over again. I just don't know why they couldn't ask for some to be ordered for them. It isn't like they are expensive and our firm is pretty easy going. I mean we have a fully stocked wine and beer fridge. Okay I am going to let it go now.

Schedule question. I work M-Th 7:30 to 6. Still BFing at home, he’s doing well with bottles at daycare. I nurse at lunch and pump morning and afternoon. I really really want to keep BFing as long as I can and I’ve read that it’s important to nurse as much as possible when you’re home with baby.
We get home after work around 6:30-6:45 (he sleeps the whole way home, about 25-30 min). I usually nurse as soon as we get home, but then he’s tired around 8:15 or so. Before I went back to work, I was last feeding him at 9 or 9:30 with bedtime right after that. But now I’m thinking bedtime should be moved up to around 8:30 since I’m getting him up earlier in the mornings and if he just napped when he wants to sleep around 8:15, bedtime would end up being so much later. If bedtime is 8:30, that leaves us with 2 feedings in the evening, one MOTN, and then one in the morning.
Basically I want to get sleep, I want him to get enough sleep, but I don’t want my supply to drop. Does that sound like a reasonable schedule for sleep and keeping up with BFing? Does it really make a difference supply wise for nursing vs pumping?
Ugh sorry for the novel. If you have advice, I’m all ears and thank you x 1000.
