Goddamn. I think I have DS1’s stomach bug. And DS2 refuses to go back to sleep. We’ve been up for over an hour and his gas/reflux has made him so cranky.

Sorry for all the lack of sleep. Right there with you all. It's just after 4 a.m. and baby is awake. We have newborn pics this morning and my alarm is set to go off at 6 a.m. 😩 I'm guessing I'll look nice and tired in our pics today.

Not MOTN anymore but ugh. I saw every hour on the clock last night except for 6. It was not a great sleep night. Please, L, let me nap today.

Hi all. I'm here to commiserate. T has a stuffy nose and it makes her... not really sleep. UGH.
I try not to pick up my phone MOTN because I feel it makes it impossible to go back to sleep.
Coffee clinks to all.

Anybody up at the moment? Baby was not happy with me that I took as long as I did to start feeding her. God forbid I use the bathroom first. She's very selfish 😛

I’m up. Got a decent first stretch and my kid has stopped screaming bloody murder for every diaper change so that’s nice.

I’m up. Some days/nights I feel wholly unqualified to be a parent.
Like some feeds are a nightmare. He thrashes and pants and screams and cries and literally everything i do seems to be the worst.
I cannot wait for that pediatrician appt.

I'm up. I was hoping we'd get a nice long stterch since DD was awake for 6 hours straight. Alas she decided she was absolutely starving after 3 hours. We're up for the second time now.

We are up here too. Poor baby is super congested so nursing is a struggle. I will be going and buying a Nose Frida in the morning if this keeps up.

Hiiii. Lactation consultant said we’re good to go 5-6 hours between feeds MOTN. H slept out in the living room with L so I could get some sleep and I was so excited when L actually waited until my 5 hour alarm went off. But it turns out he did not sleep well in that stretch and H had to get up with him a bunch. Come on, baby! It’s like he can go longer stretches without eating but he just can’t stay asleep. So grunty and squirmy.

I'm here. Dealing with a cracked nipple and now tonight the good side has developed a blockage or engorgement resulting in a third of the boob being hard. Hand massage, warm pack, and pumping have done nothing to budge it. I can hand express some, but I'm guessing that there is a decrease in the output since baby wants to feed on both sides this evening. Ouch for my cracked side. Ugh.

Call your doctor when/if you have the first signs of a fever. Mastitis is scary and can come on really quickly.

J is only 5 weeks old, but I can’t wait to get more than 2-2,5 hours of sleep at a time. My SIL has a boy3 weeks older and he’s been sleeping 6 hour stretches, lucky.
ETA: Between all three kids I was up 8x last night.

Which is still in the early stages at 9 days.

DS is kill. ing. me. with loading his diaper as soon as I’ve changed him. He waits till I’ve gotten his clothes all snapped up and back on, too. I just want a faster MOTN wakeup so I can go back to sleep 😩

To make things more fun, he hates diaper changes and screams throughout the process.

+1 I dislike that it is about a hour process gettin L back to sleep MOTN and then about another 20 minutes before my body settles enough to sleep.

Yea I came in here and then disappeared because baby takes foreverrrrrr to go back down. Then I ended up staying up for a bit because I was starving and needed some baby free eating time.

I have a horrible crack on left side. I have been babying it because I so so want it to heal quickly. I think we would be in such a good place breastfeeding if I could just get it to go away. I have been dealing with cracks on both sides since the very beginning. I pumped last night and had a big chunk of a clog come out on the left. I was surprised but then I feel like I shouldn't be. I seem prone to clogs as I already went through this on the right side. I had been noticing that I wasn't feeling like I was getting totally empty on the left and duh... Now I know why. All that to say that I am commiserating with you over here. I hope you can get things figured out quickly.

nuggetrn, did you feel the clog come out of the pump or did you see it in the bottle?

nuggetrn, did you feel the clog come out of the pump or did you see it in the bottle? I did not feel it come out. Thankfully that part isn't painful. The stringiness is squishy not hard. I think the big chunk was just kind of sitting in the flange part when I took it off and then I had some more stringy pieces still attached that I pulled off of my nipple. I never got any chunks out on my right side it was more just stringy stuff every time I pumped. It is interesting, stuff on my left was more white while what came out on my right was more yellow.
