fierymama, look at the tread on your current running shoes - is it thinner on the on the insides of your feet or outside near heels? i tend to walk on the outsides of my heels so the tread there is much lower than anywhere else. You can also go to a running store to try on shoes with help of a sales associate - who can have you walk and they will judge you i mean tell you how you walk...

Please don't let these be huge. It looks like a normal arch and mostly down the middle tread wear?!? Those are my current shoes, but I can't see much wear on my newest ones.

Okay runners, what is your favorite shoe? I'm not really starting to run yet. I want to try and get my cardio in on the elliptical for another month or so to get myself tolerating around 5 MPH consistently for at least 30 minutes before trying to run. I just don't think my current shoes will be good for running. I know I need to go get fitted for a good pair of shoes, but hate the cost of buying and always feel like I need to buy when I get fitted well. Get fitted. My favorite shoe (Mizuno Wave Inspire– $60 - $90) is great for me, but I have a heavy heel strike, am an overpronator with basically non-existent arches and a wide toe box, and I run pretty much exclusively on paved roads (vs trails) so what I need in a shoe– motion control, arch support, cushioning, a chunkier heel– may be very different than what you need in a shoe. It's really worth it to have them analyze your gait and foot shape (and measure you, if you haven't done that in a while), even just so that you can get an idea of the types of shoes to look for (motion control, stability, neutral, etc). I probably would buy from wherever you are fitted, but you don't have to. In any case, once you know your shoe, then you can just order the next replacement pair when you see them come up at a good price.

Ugh. Just got an alert from P’s dc that there have been 2 confirmed cases of scarlet fever in her class. I really hope she doesn’t get it.

Back when I wasn't a lazy bum, and I got fitting and I was very surprised to find out that I needed a wide toe box.

It has been a while since I AW her curls. I started using my shampoo in her hair and the difference is amazing!

I've been up since 3:30. Thanks pregsomnia. No baby overnight, so I guess I'm hauling my tail to work.
