We went to ENT yesterday for a checkup. Monty had an ear infection. He also still has fluid in his ears. So he needs tubes. I'm really disappointed. I thought we were going to annoys them for a while and he's Breen doing so well. Between tylenol and afrin he actually slept last night though!
In other news, Madison got hurt yesterday at daycare so I need to leave for the vet. In 15 mins. I will update when we are done.

sarahwithanh, poor Madison! I hope she's ok. L and I have Water discovery class today. L slept 7 hours straight last night... it's like he knew I needed sleep! He woke at 5 for a feeding and slept again till 8:15! (Who is this baby?) sorry to post and run! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'm finding myself to be losing motivation here more than usual. My supplier is pissing me off and not getting me info they keep telling me they'll send. And I just don't have the energy to push the issue.
I'm also getting really anxious about C's surgery on Thursday. I need to go buy a bunch of stuff to get ready. We're not supposed to feed him solids (including formula) after midnight and nothing at all 4 hours prior to surgery. He still eats every 3 hours so I hate the thought of him being starving then having to go in for surgery. And as silly as it sounds, I'm sad that there's going to be a part of him changing so drastically. Between trying to change his flat head and him getting circumcised, it seems like it won't be him.

Glad some of us are getting sleep lol. H and I didn't. I know we had a few wake ups, but I can't for the life of me remember the times. He's super fussy and I have a headache, so I'm assuming they were frequent. On a side note, I have no idea how I even manage to have a headache with the dose of Naproxen I'm taking!! H is having trouble pooping. He's finally eating some solids (it's a challenge, but he is eating some) but still won't really drink from a bottle or sippy (I thought he was taking to the straw cup, but it must have been a 1 time fluke). I can only seem to get about a half ounce of water in him throughout the entire day (and I'm not confident he is even drinking that much because he spits a lot out). So his poops are quite solid (which seems to be hurting him to push out) and he only does a little bit at a time which means he is pooping all day long (which is causing him to get a sore bum).

goldenlove I was nervous about the fasting with O too prior to his surgery. I woke up 30 mins before the time limit and fed him so he would have to go the least amount of time without food. It turned out to be a non issue though! He was more interested in looking around in the hospital. He didn't cry the whole morning. I was shocked how well it went. FX everything goes smoothly for y'all too.

Thanks cookswithwine. I'll definitely be waking him up before midnight for a bottle and giving him Pedialyte while I can. Hopefully he handles it ok! I know these things are worse for the parents so I keep thinking about that.

goldenlove I'll echo what cookswithwine said. I woke B up at the latest possible time to eat and it was fine. He was so smiley and happy the entire time we were waiting it made me feel more at ease. And looking back on it now (16 months later!) I forget he even had it because it's such a distant memory. He will be the same old C I promise you. And I bet hours after surgery he will be acting totally normal. They really are so resilient. What time is the surgery?

Last was the first night in months and he was medicated. He's been getting up every hour or 2 for the last week and at least 3 times a night since our last hospital admission.

Have you tried glycerine suppositories or rectal stim?

Yes that was normal protocol for us also. They do take mercy on you and the fact you have a baby so the appointment should be first thing. I believe ours was like 7:30 am.

They usually try and schedule babies first thing in the morning, from what I understand, so hopefully he'll be first on the docket and y'all can get out of there. That is the way it was with both procedures B has had, anyway. I am sure he will do just fine. It's definitely tougher on mom and dad. eta: I see this has been addressed

goldenlove surgery is always stressful. Hell anesthesthia is always stressful. Monty has been under 6 times. His tubes will be the 7th time. I mean seriously it is such a minor thing comparatively, but i feel just as nervous. His 5th surgery. I'm still freaking out. I should be a pro. Don't even get me started on the anxiety I have when I think of his cleft palate repair. The not eating doesn't seem to be that big of a deal until like 6 hrs or more in. Good luck. How long will the surgery take?

Morning! sarahwithanh Sorry about your pup, hope she is ok. My parents left for their vacation place this morning so we have the house to ourselves. It's very quiet--which is kind of nice, C actually got a nap! I will miss my parents but not their dog. Rainy here today so not sure what we'll be up to, esp. if B's swim lesson gets canceled.

Sorry update on Madison. Definitely showing signs of pain. She had to be muzzled. They could t figure out exactly where or what was going on. So we have anti-inflammatory and pain meds and will keep an eye on her.

I'm going to try to get extra fruit in him today and maybe even some prunes (if he will agree lol). But if not I will check into those.

I just take a qtip and roll the tip in Vaseline. Then wiggle the tip around in his butt. I dont go in any further than the cotton. It helps him almost every time. Same thing can be accomplished with a windi or taking a temp.

Me: ok, I'm going to go get dressed. B, stay in the den and play nicely with C.
B: Play hide-and-seek?
Me: No, play *nicely*.
B: Ok, C, this is how you hide...

There's no good way to segue into lunch talk from poop but I'm just going to go for it... I have to go heat my lunch but the microwave is by my coworkers and I don't feel like talking to them right now. I've been anti-social AF lately. And jubilantsquirrel WFL?

Hi everyone :-) flamingo That sounds like a nice break! Enjoy!! sarahwithanh I'm sorry to hear about Madison. Rough week for pets by ClassyMrsA cat, Sophie's oldest, and Madison. And super bummer about the tubes 😩 I feel like this is so common these days and I have no idea why. goldenlove Poor C, but I'm with you, silver lining that you get to spend so many days snuggling him. danib Is it cruel that to get prune in them I used to make them laugh and when they opened up I got it in far enough that they couldn't spit it out lol. Now they love it though so it's a bit easier. Edit tag Edit tag again

I have some leftover shredded chicken so I threw it over some brown rice and added tomatoes and black beans. It was bland AF so I threw some taco sauce and sririacha on it. It's much better. But I'm still hungry. And now I just want tacos.
