Just got off the phone with him. They can't get her relaxed with multiple meds and her breathing got so labored that they had to put her on oxygen. It's not looking good and I'm heartbroken that he's there alone to have to say what should be done.

sophiegrace I'm so sorry honey. If I were you, I'd stay home with M. If you think you'll regret it though, go.

I'm so sorry sophiegrace. These animals are part of the family and it's so sad when they're old and in bad shape. Big hugs. Like tgrimes said, I'd probably stay home, just b/c I try to avoid being out on the roads late at night with the kids by myself (in the event something happens). But I'm a policeman's granddaughter so I tend to be paranoid/a worrier.

H is back home. He said she went peacefully.
Thanks for letting me come here and talk about it while we were in limbo. It was her time, she's been sick for awhile and we always promised that we wouldn't let her suffer. But that really doesn't help make it feel any better at the moment.

sophiegrace I'm glad she went peacefully. It's always a shitty feeling, no matter what the circumstances.

To switch gears entirely, for some reason lately I have been thinking about and looking forward to TTC again. GDI. Someone slap some sense into me please and thank you. We're like a *minimum* of a year out from that. *cough* I found myself fantasizing about a second too. Wtf

Oh sophiegrace. I'm so sorry to hear that. It is so hard to lose a pet, even if they are in pain and we know (intuitively) that it's time. Peace to you and your H as well.

hangry - to answer your question like 24 hours late - my H stays home with them all summer. He gets home at noon today and i am literally counting down the minutes. He's also going down to part time next year (in part because of our constant childcare issues) and both of us are super excited about that. Will be a good change for our family.
