I'm delayed in catching up as usual. Happy New Year! We are doing well. D's 40 Day Blessing (we are Greek Orthodox) is this morning, so we'll be getting ready for Church and going there shortly. Hopefully all goes smoothly with the toddler; I've been really bad about Church attendance since my husband is not into it, and L hasn't been in a year.
Sleep continues to improve in a non-linear fashion and I have to keep reminding myself that her bad nights now are nights I would have killed for when she was waking every 60-90 to eat.
Nursing is going really well, which is so nice after all the difficulties I had with L. D eats super quickly because of my letdown, and is still choking from time to time, but she's gaining great, little to no pain, and once she's able to keep up with the flow and I don't get covered in milk 30% of the time, we'll really be in business.
L is still being difficult behaviorally and it's hard to know what's new sibling and what's 2.5. I notice when she gets more attention she's better though, so we are trying to make sure to give her a lot when we can.

What's your LO sleeping in at night? DS is sleeping in the rock n play for naps and was sleeping in it at night until this "will only sleep while being held" business. We've tried the dock a tot in the bassinet and I got 2 hrs out of him but he's just so loud. When I hold him he doesn't make a peep. During the day in the rock n play he's silent and sleeps for 3 hrs. Night time rolls around and the second I set him down its all grunts and Billy goat noises.

We are using the rock n play day and night. I'd prefer the bassinet because it seems safer but he hates it. Sometimes after his first motn feeding, I can get him in the bassinet because he's too tired to notice. We get the goat noises too. He's still sleeping 3-4 hours round the clock so far.

veganontuesdays, we were using a PNP but he seems to sleep much better in the RNP so we have switched over to that at night as well.

Sleeping in a bassinet at night. I try to put him in the pnp for naps during the day instead of the rnp just because of the recent concern of flat spot and I’m trying to be really conscious of rotating his head. Plus the pnp is a safer height with the overly in-his-face sister factor. He grunts a lot lately at night which wakes me but I think it’s due to gas and still his congestion.

We use the dock a tot but have the same challenge with the grunting (especially after she goes back down after eating). I play white noise through the Bose speaker right by my head to block it out best I can.

Bassinet until about 4/5 then I switch him to the RnP. I can’t believe the noises that come out of my kid. I use earplugs so I can only hear the serious ones.

Bassinest for safety. White noise to help block out the grunts and cries. I re-read parts of Bringing Up Bebe when I was nursing last week and it reminded me about "the pause", i.e. not immediately responding to every noise/cry but observing baby for a moment/minute and seeing if they settle or not. Harder with a toddler you don't want woken up but it seems to have helped too, though of course, I'm still waking.
The white noise track we use is called "Baby Got Colic" in iTunes. It sounds crazy but it's been good with both kids.

typo31 and veganontuesdays - a pediatrician in another parenting group I'm in has shared a link about the dock a tot a few times recently - I'm going to try to find it and edit here with the link. Obviously everyone can make their own mind up about safety, but I'd feel better knowing that I shared it so you could review it and have the information. As a lawyer, some of the issues raised re their marketing claims vs their safety instructions and their misleading use of a government standard make me pretty irritated/concerned. www.babybargains.com/dockatot-review-not-recommended/

Bassinet day and night right now. Here in the next couple of weeks she will move to her crib at night. We have white noise she can hear through the monitor for her sister but we have one already queued up for her room. We use a Rohm. Small portable and also runs on batteries if the power goes out in the middle of the night

I've shared it with H. We had planned to move her into the RnP in the next week or so as she's getting bigger/wiggly, but may make the change sooner. My pediatrician OK'd it at our first visit, so maybe I'll send this to her before our next one, to get her take.

There's a link within that one about the rock and play too that I'd recommend checking out. My pediatrician was anti-RnP for unsupervised night sleep, but everyone has a different take based on their own experience/circumstances/needs. I know I tend to be very conservative about sleep and don't expect everyone to make the same decisions - but information about risks/benefits is always good to have.

We don’t have a white noise machine in our room so I tend to lay in bed shushing when he’s grunting. 😂 maybe I should grab the one we have for his room.
