I spent last night at MIL's since a bunch of the family was there and DH was working. Then I fell in the shower so that was scary.(I was being stupid and trying to reach something in the closet and get shower had no hint of grip) anyway baby boy was kicking all day and I talked to the on-call midwife who said if I had no bleeding/leakage or contractions I was fine so š now. Had a fun day with family. Sunday DH gave me a bath robe and I š because he didn't know I wanted one and picked one out that is totally me!(And he claims he not a good "gift giver") It's so soft and long and even has a hood. we will get our recliner for the nursery later which will also be my gift. I think he was surprised and liked the smart watch I got him! And that I came home and woke him up to have sex before gong back to MIL's for Christmas dinner!š I am laying in the tub because I'm too lazy to shower and DH took his two oldest nephews to the gym with him. Discovered my belly is now big enough to use as a phone rest lol.

Hi!
Well - H and I drew letters and had to get a gift that started with that letter. I got him tickets to our local junior hockey team for New Yearās Day and a few other small things. He had R for me and got a set of Ruby earrings/necklace. Thought was nice but they were so not something I would wear. I felt horrible for not liking them but I am no good at hiding my emotions... he caught on right away. This isnāt the first time heās gotten me jewelry that is nms. So he felt bad and I felt bad for being picky and.... ya. It was an emotional day.
H had to work today so we celebrated earlier with my dad and family. Then he went home and G and I drove to my grandmothers. We had our big Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner - lots of carbs and cream. Yum!

Sorry for the falling scare alwayscheese! I also fell this weekend- it was our first snow and I was playing with DD and the dog on our deck. Luckily it was a graceful/gentle fall and LO was wiggle around like crazy the rest of the day!

Merry (belated) Christmas ladies! It was a crazy, whirlwind weekend! The best news is that after working on our truck for 18 hours straight (with $500+ in truck parts MH had overnighted), my DH got it up and running. God bless him. He was so tired when he was done, but he finished just in time for our nieces baptism Saturday (literally finished an hour before after being up all night). The rest of the weekend was fun chaos of family get togethers and lots of good food. It went by so fast!! I got some fun gift cards (look out Target and Hobby Lobby!), along with a new purse, curling wand, a gift certificate for a (kid-free) mani-pedi, and some baking utensils that I needed. No complaints from me. I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning with my whole right arm and hand partially numb, tingly, burning, and throbbing. Ugh. I've been up ever since. It took an hour of stretching and switching positions to get the pain to subside, but it's still tingly. I had this with DD2 as well, except not until I was 30+ weeks.

What a busy weekend! Iām fighting some sort of cold again so thatās super blah. I had such a good time with both of our families, but we had some really late nights and Iām feeling it now. Weāre at the ILs and extended family is coming today, but thankfully it should be pretty chill. We got our baby monitor and an echo, and I got a solly baby wrap, some mixing bowls, and some new leggings. My mom, being the saint that she is, made delicious high protein and low carb dinners while we were there, so I only had to worry about keeping myself away from the cookies. Which wasnāt easy. Hereās my view on the way to my grandparents yesterday. š

Merry Christmas everyone! We had a great Christmas Eve and day. I hosted my family for Christmas Eve and everything went well, my food turned out great and I ate so much Christmas baking.
Christmas day was perfect, MH, DS and I did our stockings and presents together at our house, then went to my parents' and exchanged gifts with them and my siblings. I got a cuckoo clock, a nutribullet, some kitchen things I wanted (garlic press, lemon squeezer, etc.), three new books, pyjamas, a purse, some gift certificates and a few smaller things. My grandma knitted me a beautiful sweater for the new baby! DS wasn't crazy about the gifts we got him but he loves the tickle me Elmo and play toolbox my parents got him! I got MH a pottery mug with a thing to make pour-over coffee at work, a Swiss army knife, a ton of chocolate, a sweater, some books, and two shirts that he's taking back lol.
My brother and his girlfriend got engaged yesterday! I'm happy for them but their relationship has some very obvious issues so I also feel a bit conflicted about it. His girlfriend is... not a very nice person, IMO. I know I shouldn't feel this way, though.
I'm looking forward to eating more cookies and having a relaxing day today.

It's almost 8 here and DD is still sleeping. We had a pretty low key day yesterday. Just stayed home and DD played with her new toys. I think my most surprising "gift" was DH letting me get a new kitten for Christmas.

My H got up with the toddler so I'm still in bed torn between wanting to see her play with her new toys and bed.
I'm exhausted and we still have 3 Christmas celebrations to go! Luckily the one today isn't until later.
I got... Not a ton because I mostly asked for $$ for baby things. My H did get me cute dinosaur earrings and this vintage pyrex dish I've wanted foreeeever. So that's cool. And my brother got me a teething necklace.

Good morning, all! This weekend has been busy, busy, busy. Also, I slept like garbage last night, so I'm the biggest grump this morning. Sorry, MrRama!
Christmas was awesome. My SIL came with us to my parents' house and the amazing people they are, they managed to get her some gifts (including a stocking!) on such short notice. She was extremely surprised and touched. We ate breakfast over there and then went home while they went to watch the new Star Wars movie. Got H and SIL some nice gifts, but I accidentally found mine from H early, so I just watched them open gifts. Honestly, despite how much they kept commenting how badly they felt about not having anything for me to open, I didn't mind. I get way more enjoyment out of the company and thrill of watching others' reactions to gifts I give them than getting my own stuff. So it was pretty win-win on my end. Then we went back to my parents' for dinner, had a giant feast, and played a game of Monikers. I actually peed myself laughing so hard.
It was a great day, I'm just sad I'm at work now. Can't we all just have a whole week off between Christmas and New Year's? I'm dyyyying.

My kid struggled her way through Christmas festivities. Found out last night it's because she was getting sick. Again. UGH. So we are laying low today. Im bummed I can't spend time with my sister, who is only in town one more day. But I don't want to give anyone the germs. I'm sure to get it next. I've never not gotten a cold from my kid. Other than that we had a good holiday.

Hi folks! I'm so rarely here but now that I inch into the third tri, seems appropriate to pop in. (Reintro: DS #2 due 3/28!) Happy holidays!
We had a low-key Christmas at home yesterday and flying across the country tonight for belated family holidays. MH got me the duvet cover I'd asked for, happy with that even though it wasn't a surprise. I got MH a nice sweater and stuffed his stocking with snacks and liquor. (We're boring.) I loved seeing DS (20 months) really get into opening gifts for the first time. He got a fire truck, more mega blocks, a little set of animals, soccer ball, and a little backpack and baby headphones for the trip.
Wish us luck - 5 hour flight with a super active toddler ahead, then a 3 hour drive tomorrow. š® At least I'm distracted from any anxiety I'd have about traveling pregnant. I'll need to remember to move my legs, drink lots of water, and feed myself once in awhile I guess.

-23f with the windchill here. -3f air temp. I am dying. My furnace is running constantly, but the house stays at 63. Dh is going to clean the filter tonight and see if that helps. I am completely overwhelmed with stuff. I went through the toy closet and tossed a ton of toys into my donation pile, next up is the 0-18mo clothing. Mostly it just needs to go, but maybe a few things are appropriate for ds. Also need to put away Christmas decor. We have three birthdays and an anniversary here in the next 16 days.

Merry belated Christmas to all who celebrate. We had a really lovely Christmas this year--possibly the best in years! DH's sister got married this year, and her wife's family all came to my MILs on Christmas Eve for brunch. It was a treat to have a larger group of people around, and some help with the cooking for once (lol). We were invited to friends' on Christmas Eve for a 7 fishes feast and there were so many people and kids and good food! New favorite thing: spending time with friends for holidays instead of family, lol.
Yesterday we just snuggled in the three of us and spent a quiet day with presents, food, playing toys, watching snow fall. Soooo nice.
Favorite gifts I gave were DS's footie Patriots pajamas (he freaked when he saw them, lol) and DH's Sphero Mini robot because I knew he would have fun tinkering with it and it wasn't something he asked for. This coming weekend I get to give my brother that keg of ranch dressing, so that will be a hoot lol.
Favorite gift I got was a Lo & Sons OMG bag that I've been coveting for years and a pair of Sam Edelman booties. DH is the best.

calendula lol yes I want to hear about the reaction to the keg of ranch Rama whatsit I totally like getting stuff, but DNW to be the center of attention and trying to be graceful if I'm not overly excited about my gifts. DH usually discusses what to get me and we don't do a lot of other gift exchanges so it's usually not a thing; but also why I love wish lists and why I get way more excited about the giving. For our secret Santa I gave my 5yo nephew a mini multi-tool(that I took the knives out of), along with a Lego set that he wanted, and he was so impressed I was very happy I went to the effort. My night was crap last night. I unwisely kept waiting for DH to come home from the gym and to come to bed and then once he came I started coughing and coughed till I puked š©. Then a couple hours later the pager went off and DH went to a fire. Etc etc. So I guess I got practise for the short interrupted nights I'll have with baby. š Also how everyone that's not feeling good gets better! Some people here at MIL's have colds and I'm worried I'll get it too.

We had a great Christmas. It was still super busy but not as crazy as it usually is. My mom got me a pregnancy pillow and I slept so good last night. I also got a few prenatal massage gift certificates and I think I may use one soon. My right leg has been hurting nonstop since Christmas Eve. Mh has massaged it a little for me but it's so annoying and won't go away.

I had my OB check up today and I'm measuring at 29 weeks when I'll be 27 tomorrow. I'm hoping it's just from bloat from the Christmas food but I measured ahead with DD1 too. She was only 6 lbs at birth so I'm hoping this baby won't be big either.

Christmas for us was good. We had our annual Christmas Eve get together with a couple of my aunts, my uncle, and cousins. We do a gift exchange which is fun. We had a taco bar which made me happy. With my GD my blood sugar usually stays good with tacos. I treated myself to a cupcake that night and had, which likely contributed to my high fasting number the next morning.
On Christmas Day we were at my parents house. My brotherās family who lives in MD opened presents with us via Skype.
DS got too many toys and I just spent the last hour organizing toys and books, and putting some of the older toys in storage. He got a bike from my parents so I am ready for warmer weather so he can use it. My favorite present the new refrigerator, which arrived last Friday.
DS has been fighting a cold for a week. He has been sleeping on the couch since 4:00. On Friday he slept from 2:00 pm until 8:00 Saturday morning. DH now has it. I really hope I donāt catch it.

Hi everyone and a belated Merry Christmas to anyone who celebrated! We're in the midst of our very busy visit with lots of family across the country. DS had a hard time with the flight but has been a total rockstar with the car time. We did 2.5 hours in the car each the past two days, and have to do it again tomorrow. Then a 6 hour car stint to see more extended fam on Friday. That's the one I'm most nervous about...
I'm a little sad because tomorrow we leave my side of the family to do DH's. I love and cherish spending time with my parents and brother, and they're just so easy and low-maintenance. It's a little higher stress with DH's side, but hopefully it will be a nice visit.
Hope you're all enjoying the holidays and I'm looking forward to catching up with you all more once things settle after our trip!
