Well guys I made it. We traveled 11 hours on Thursday and 9.5 hours today with an 18 month old and almost 4 week old. So looking forward to my bed in T-minus 30. For BF, R usually takes between 8-15 minutes and on one side only. Pretty consistent with my 3 kids. She had some issues gaining at first but started doing better. She eats at least 2-3 during the day and 3-4 at night. With the exception of the left couple of days when we were all in the same room and didn't want to wake the toddler. R gave me a 5-6 hour stretch at night then resumed every 2-3 after the initial one. I still can believe how brave you are! I barely want to drive 20 mins today!!

sarahandben108 ldubhawksfan H was definitely a rockstar on this one. We tag teamed everything including driving! This will most likely be a one time only trip even though it went pretty good given. My grandparents are 89 and 87 so we wanted them to meet R and really know HK (they hadn't seen her since she was born). Merry Christmas!!!! ☃️🍭🎅🤶

Downfall of DC, sick toddler which means suck baby. Second cold including a cough this time for both DD and now the newborn. So this morning DH brought dd in bed and we were all up by 4:30.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful day!!! N, who had to be woken every 3 hours for feeding yesterday has been demanding room service every two hours like clockwork, and has been super active. (My parents went home today, maybe he misses grandma snuggles too much? ) Hoping he’ll nod off here soon, I need to pump again at some point...

Merry Christmas! Ugh that sucks. We were all sick literally when J was born. That one came from my work though and thankfully he didn’t get it and no one else got as sick as me.

Holy hell this baby is ssssoooo loud. I think it’s time for us to switch to the RnP for sleep b/c he settles a little better in that than his bassinet. I’m so tired. I had the same issue with E. A bit of a newborn honeymoon before the more difficult baby stuff kicks in.

Merry Christmas everyone!
We stayed at my moms house last night, and of course it was M's worst night sleeping yet. She woke up every 2 hours and was super grunty/snuffly when falling back asleep and kept us awake. I was already tired from trying to pack up for the overnight trip and then even more tires today. My mom's house is full of people and loud, and my patience is wearing thin. Can't wait to be back home soon and relax with my H and take a long soak.

E pretty much slept through Christmas. He became pretty fussy about 3 and has been passed out for the last 2.5 hours. Usually around this time we are approaching the witching hour. He basically clusterfeeds for about 3 hours. I'm hoping he's a little more easy on me tonight. DNW a fussy baby attached to my chest all night after today's excitement.

I know they say that you should let there be noise around your sleeping baby, but nothing is worst than just getting them to sleep and having loud people nearby and waking them up. You never notice how loud people can be until you need them to be quiet. N is already notorious for waking E up just as soon as I get him asleep.

Like he clearly has no idea how loud he is. Slamming drawers and opening packages. Ugggghhhh....shut up.

Grunting, rooting even tho he just ate, and then eventually crying. Rinse and repeat. Fun times.

R just fights sleep All. The. TIME. She's awake after feedings which is nice, and then after a hour she gets sooo fussy and won't settle down. Which results in her getting overtired and screams. Or I have to sit and replace her paci ever 2 minutes for over a hour. Right now she's sleeping on my lap but I need to transfer to tend to the toddler since daycare is closed today.....

So E has continued to have green poop and I finally was able to get him seen by our pedi. Apparently, green, poop is normal. It's just excess bile that comes out in the poop. She did test for MSPI which was negative. He's 8 lbs 6 oz already.
I was also worried about him having an upper lip tie because he never pushes out his top lip when feeding. Our pedi said it was tight but not severe. So we won't do anything about it right now. After our appointment I headed over for another LC appointment. She gave us a few new things to try to get E to latch better and did a weighted feed. He ate about 2 oz and this was when he was pretty traumatized by the doctor's appointment and just wanted to sleep.
Overall, I feel so much better. I never doubted he's been growing and thriving. But he may look a lot like his older brother but he is definitely a different newborn.

You never notice how loud people can be until you need them to be quiet. N is already notorious for waking E up just as soon as I get him asleep. So D will sleep through anything during the day. It's absurd. And because she had her days and nights seemingly confused when we brought her home, we assumed she'd sleep through anything at night though it's always super quiet. Christmas Eve Eve we were doing 7 Fishes prep from 9-midnight and she was losing her shit and we couldn't figure out why, until she quieted down immediately and seemed at ease once we dimmed the lights and turned off our music. Crazy baby. Apparently once it's nighttime now, she needs quiet to be calm?!

We have a lot of family so I've been bad about checking in, so I can be more present with family. I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful holiday!
We have been struggling with the toddler and it's either really great or REALLY awful. It's hard to know what's toddler and what's new sibling. But it's rough. I wish I had a magic wand to get us through the tantrums.

Ughhhhhghgjghhh.
Left this morning to make the 5 hour drive to my in-laws'. An hour in, the Indiana turnpike shuts down completely due to ice and a semi pile-up. Sat at a standstill for 2 hours and just now finally creeping along again. I had to pee in a coffee cup and clean up with one of M's diapers! She has been a champ. I need a drink.

DD1 caught a terrible cold. She’s had a horrible cough and fever since she got up yesterday. Early this morning when baby woke up for a feeding so did she! Her fever spiked and she felt terrible. It was not a wonderful mom moment. I hate when she’s sick...it sucks even more when I have my hands full with a hungry baby and can’t do anything to comfort her. Is it April yet?!

Feeling kind of productive today. Toddler is at ILs since dh had to work. I am doing my laundry, gave baby a bath, got announcements done, sorted through toys to tuck away and now I’m watching my bowl game! And DS was awake for almost 2 hrs earlier, so that is good.
I’m almost tempted to take down the tree ornaments so dh can haul it out to the curb, but I feel like a grinch doing that! Lol

Yikes typo31! That sounds awful. My sister is in town and finally got to meet B today. My nephew (5) was really excited and wanted to hold him. He kept getting excited when B moved. We also ordered new iPhones and they came in the mail today. H has been checking the door like crazy and is now setting up his.

Going into hour 2 of trying to get DS to go to sleep. For the second night in a row.
How do you get your babies to sleep and then do shorter MOTN wake ups? It’s like he doesn’t know how to eat efficiently.

It’s like he doesn’t know how to eat efficiently. Up here too. I have no advice about the sleep and shorter wake ups. E still pretty much has his days and nights still backwards. Some nights he falls asleep faster than others. If he needs to poop he could be up a couple of hours until he goes. I'm lucky because that's the time when DH steps in and takes over so I can sleep. Eventually it does get better. It's just exhausting until you get there.
