In 2017 I had the focus word SHINE- this was the first time I have done one and it really worked for me.
This year I think that I am going to use FEARLESS. I have some big decisions coming up- and I hope that I can be fearless when making them.
Do you have a focus word picked for next year?

Mine was Fearless this year! I actually chose it before my BFP, and it just fit so perfectly.
I think 2018 will be HOME.

I have gone through this "course" the last three years to find my word. It sends one day at a time, but if anyone wants all five at once, I'd be glad to forward them. www.susannahconway.com/word/

I have been thinking calm would be my word but the more I read the list you posted I think I am leaning towards Breathe. 2017 was a very difficult year for us and I feel this year I just need to breathe.

Oh I’m glad I found this thread! Last year my word was Thrive. I found it really helpful. This year I’m thinking of something about just surrending to the moment, but I haven’t found the right word yet.

Last year was bloom, and I think I want Thrive this year. The only thing is it connects in my mind to the MLM and that's not what I mean haha.

I did the intention word for the first time last year, I used Bloom and it really really worked for me.
I am using Connect this year. I love all of your ideas so far!

It’s not on that list but Adventure will be my word this year!
I want to make sure my insecurities don’t hold DS and I back from doing fun stuff. I’m going to try to do 2 things a month that are outside the home! I already have the first 2 in planned January. Plus a few cheap/free concerts this spring! I’m thinking like the science museum, the children’s museum, a hike when the weather is warmer (and he can walk), free art museum days just to get an idea. I feel like the only “trips” he goes on are to the grocery store, the Doctor, or to drop off or pick up DH from the airport.
And not just going on adventures but being adventurous in every day life. Sorry that’s more than you asked for!

I like this. I am considering clarity. Meaning I am hoping to make some decisions and be more intentional/precise. Not sure if I’m explaining that well; open to other suggestions if anyone has them.

My word for last year was drive. I’m working towards the goal of getting into PA school. Last year I didn’t have my pre reqs completed in time for the deadline but I busted my ass to get all A’s in 5 classes while being a SAHM. I am taking 3 classes this spring and I want to find a word similar to drive but with even more intention. Maybe determined?

I want to use something along the lines of control but feel like it’s too harsh if a word. Amy suggestions?

I've never done this. But we're facing a lot of challenges and changes in 2018 and I think I need something. I think it will be Mindfulness. I'm switching to a work from home position, building a house, planning another pregnancy and trying to also lose weight and get in shape and make good food choices. Need to work on our budget and our mindless spending. It's so easy to get lost in buying things for the new house and I need to just take a step back.
Thank you for the inspiration.

I did the little course posted above and decided to stop striving so much. I need to breathe and take time rather than try to fit more more more in! Lol my word was going to be adventure or thrive but I was resisting this and I think it’s probably a better goal for me.

I don't remember if I posted already but my word is FOCUS.
We need to focus on finances, relationships, and home life overall.

I’m so glad I found this! I’ve been trying to figure out a word for the year so I’m excited to try the course. I did the first day exercise and all I came up with was “control”.. as in my ideal day everything is completely under my control.... hopefully I get more inspiration over the next couple days..

I bet you will! I was really surprised with the word I ended with after my first course, but it fit perfectly.
