cornpop I had the same thing with my pregnancy with DD2 and now this one too. Like I would just be standing and blow drying my hair and start to feel out of breath. With both pregnancies, my OB has assured me it's normal, but has never given me a reason as to why it happens. Definitely talk to your doctor about it though, especially of it gets worse.

anyone else feel like pregnancy throws off their judgement? is that a thing - maybe part of pregnancy brain? i feel like i can’t trust myself with decisions or i just end up in analysis paralysis over the dumbest things. this has made shopping for christmas and in general 10x harder than it needs to be.

I could see this. I feel like I'm slacking on so many fronts that I ended up buying way too much for Christmas because I felt like it would make it up? And I'm definitely making decisions more emotionally.

I finally confessed to DH the other night that his name choice has grown on me. I’m actually thinking of the baby with that name now. I've started doing this with one of our "meh, not terrible" names. It's grown on me a lot more than I expected.

polson, there are definitely decisions I made when I was pregnant with my first (like painting one wall of her room BRIGHT ORANGE) that I still look back on and think "WTAF was I thinking?" ...We've since repainted the orange wall BTW.

My H is the WORST time manager. I made him a list of all the christmas gifts he needs to buy for his family and where to get them from. I even separated it by location making it super easy for him to just knock them off. I could knock through the list in 2-3 hours MAX, even including driving.
At noon I sent him a recipe and asked him to just do the marinade part before I get home. He called me freaking out that there was no way he'd be home in time to do it. He had already been shopping for like an hour or so at that point!
I was hoping he would get some painting done in the nursery today, I guess that's not happening.
if it's not done by this weekend, I think I'm just going to do it myself.

Lol I've been considering painting one wall in DS's new room orange. But finding the right shade is so hard. Maybe I'll get external input on this before making a decision haha.

cornpop dh and time management. Omg. No. If I want it done in a timely fashion I practically give step by step instructions. He’s not an idiot, but he cannot focus. On that note, has anyone see the cartoon/meme goin around about how once you start managing you losing the ability to actually *do* the stuff? That’s what creates the mental load and 3rd shift feeling many women deal with? How do you handle that? Personally as my kids are getting bigger I see this being more and more of a problem. I spend so much one coordinating homework, swim lessons, chores, etc that I don’t get my chores done. I’m hoping that changes when I’m not pregnant and exhausted, but it’s kind of alarming.

This why we have a team of project managers at work. A WHOLE TEAM OF THEM. They don’t produce anything, just manage others. Moms do that but the stakes are higher bc we’re basically keeping everyone alive.

I swear the pink line showed up and my brain disappeared

Well I'm back after a fun weekend in California. Sister is married, they're the sweetest couple. Got to see a lot of family but not enough time with any of them. We stayed with friends that are neighbors to my family and part way through our stay two of their children came down with the flu. I've had my flu shot so not really worried, but I feel like I can't go visit my week old nephews till I know I'm not gonna get sick. I'm using Inkscape to design something for someone and it's glitching and making me batty. I have my one hour glucose tolerance test tomorrow so fx I pass.

I have a midwife appt and should really get some sleep, but I really need to get this finished also.

Ugh second night in a row I'm up in the middle of the night with horrible heartburn. Last night I was up almost three hours and looks like tonight is going to be the same or longer. I have Tums which helps a bit but if this keeps up I may need to add Zantac. I rarely had heartburn with DD1 so this is new uncomfortable territory for me.

I'm sorry mattsgirl2004 I hope she goes back to sleep so you can get some rest. Thanks. It's after 3 a.m and no sign of her going back to sleep. She's not crying or anything, just wide awake like it's the middle of the day. 😩 This is miserable. I'm so, so tired. ETA: Sorry for the heartburn and no sleep at cp3. Hope you get some relief soon.

I finally fell asleep at 4am and Mh's alarm started going off at 4 30 which of course he wasn't waking up for. It's 6am now and I'm not ready to get out of bed.

cp3, have you tried apple cider vinegar for the heartburn? I used it in my first pregnancy and it helped a lot. You put a little ACV in water then drink it. The acid supposedly neutralizes the acid in your stomach.

trying to work myself out of the blahs today. it’s snowing here and pretty outside so that helps. i’m on my 3rd load of laundry and i got some cleaning done already this morning. this means i can do nothing the rest of the day, right? i do need to get to grocery store and then we’re off to my grandma’s for the rest of the day. dd has been a monster lately and i can’t be stuck inside with her all day by myself again.
