Also, i would be SUUUUUPER pissed if i was their first born and had to walk around with the name Spurgeon my whole life while my siblings get Ivy and Fern. Not cool mom, not cool. And Henry! It seems so out of place with the other name choices.

Aw, Fern. It makes me think of Charlotte’s Web.

Her kids names don’t make sense as sibling names and Fern is ridiculous. This child is going to be an adult one day and her name will be Fern 🙄 IMO Henry and Ivy got the best of the names although Ivy is not personally my style.

At least it is a real name with no intentional misspellings and it is also kind of adorable. I know a little girl Fern and it suits her so well.

It is a legit name that was more popular pre-20th century so I don't really side eye it much. Spurgeon is universally terrible, I think. A name that is meant to have a middle name you can use instead, lol.

I'm glad Jessa finally used her head for once in her life and delivered in a hospital given the complications she had with 2 of her 3 previous births.
Fern is cute. I wonder if Jessa is a big Charlotte's Web fan given Fern and big brother Henry (Fussy).
Perhaps poor Spurgie can go by his middle name (Elliot) when he grows up. Although probably not, in this family.

Blind Items Revealed #1 June 22, 2021 This former reality star who has a habit of molesting children and watching them being molested is arguing for a no jail time deal. The only way he is getting a no jail time deal is if he rolls over all the car dealers in his area using stolen parts which would also mean throwing a bus over dad who is paying for everything. Josh Duggar Wut. Stolen car parts does-not-in-no-uncertain-fucking-terms=images of children. WUT. I MEAN WUT.

So I think it’s fine, but NMS and old fashioned. The crime is putting it with Ivy. Come on! I’m glad you’re not doing a letter theme like your parents but a plant theme?

And I just read where it took them 5 days to name their first two kids.
F-I-V-E DAYS?? To come up with Spurgeon?

It doesn’t vibe at all with the other names though. I’m happy the subsequent three kids were spared but definitely feel bad for Spurgeon.

Fern is not unusual in my area, more common than Ivy for sure.
I wonder if not having to film the birth allowed Jessa to have a hospital birth. No need to risk her life for ratings drama or live up to some ridiculous ideal of birth.

I remember seeing a clip of Jinger talking to her sisters about her epidural following her first baby, and Jessa looked legitimately shocked, and said something like “maybe I should get an epidural next time!”. It was as if she didn’t even have an understanding of what an epidural was or could do until Jinger described it, and no one had ever educated her on it. Which wouldn’t be surprising in that crowd. 😒

macic, I feel strongly that there are more of his victims within the family and his immediate fundie community. I also think there is a strong possiblity that Josh was a victim of sex abuse. The founder of the IBLP movement, Bill Goddard, stepped down due to allegations of sex abuse.

I believe that it is likely that Josh had access to children that he abused BUT I am also not sure if I believe he did to his own kids at this point. CPS would have been involved all this time and they are pretty good at their job. Given how many children he has, it is unlikely that all of them would be able to successfully lie to the investigators about if their dad was abusing them. I mean, it is certainly possible of course. I don't want to give this guy an ounce of credit but I also wonder if he specifically avoided his own kids to make it easier to hide from authorities.

I can believe Josh didn't touch his own kids but would other kids. Same. While I don't work directly in the CPS realm, it intersects with my work not infrequently. It is not uncommon for people to abuse other children and not their own.

Many abusers abuse other children while not laying a hand on their own.

While I am certainly glad for his children's sake and those of other abusers, it makes me sick to think that in their twisted logic, other children not their own are free game to abuse.

I'm trying to figure out why he thinks this is a good idea. I hope his opponent tears him apart.
