Is anyone still doing quiet time for their Feb13 child? DS actually does really well with it, but he's currently doing it in my bedroom (on the other side of the house from where DD1 naps), but I'd like to eventually use that room for DD2's naps (when she stops napping on me). Her room is right next to DS/DD1's room and I don't want the two girls to wake each other/prevent the other from napping, but I'm loathe to give up DS' quiet time. What does your LO do for quiet time, or do they have one at all?

DD1 (Jan ‘13) actually was still napping for a short nap till about September. Now we do quiet time in her room. We rotate books, tablet, and coloring. DD1 and DD2’s rooms are next to each other and they don’t wake each other up. Sometimes DD1 will still nap.

I & A still nap for 60-90 minutes. They need it most days and usually fall asleep easily, but they also stay up relatively late at night as a result. On occasional days when they do skip nap I usually put on a TV show for them to watch quietly so they get some down time. If it was on a more regular basis I would probably offer books, puzzles, coloring, etc.. as quieter things to do.

MAC has never been a fan of naps/quiet time. I somehow convinced him to nap yesterday and it was amazing. He’s at school 5 days a week and obviously they don’t nap there. He occasionally lays on the couch and will watch a show while the baby naps, but that’s not always consistent.
I would keep him in your room and have the girls together. Kids seem to sleep through anything (except food, they always wake up when I have snacks). It likely wouldn’t be a problem, especially if you can get to the crying child quick. Plus turn on a sound machine and it would be no problem at all, hopefully.

Whenever DDs 1+2 (6.5 And Feb 13 kid) are home in the afternoon, they have quiet time. They can play together as long as they don't fight, and they get in big trouble if they wake up dd3 (almost 2). It's about an hour and they're pretty goos about it. I've made it clear that it's also my quiet time, so when I shut their doors they always say "have a nice quiet time, Mama!"

I tried to have DD do quiet time in her room after she dropped her nap and it didn't work very well for a variety of reasons. Before she got her kindle for her 4th birthday, I would put a movie on and just have her chill on the couch so she would at least rest and give me a break. Now, usually I try to do something with her one-on-one after DS goes down for his nap, and then she gets to use her kindle in the afternoon while he sleeps. It basically is quiet time, but in the living room instead of her room. I don't love that she's staring at a screen everyday, but.... I try not to beat myself up over it. That's not how I originally intended it to be, but she was not very cooperative with it and also not good at entertaining herself without near-constant interaction from me, which I get burned out by.
