It's 2am here and I just got hosed with pee during a diaper change. Then, right as LO is all swaddled and almost nursed to sleep - big poo in diaper. 😑

We had a pretty nice Halloween last night. DS had a great time trick or treating at the mall, and ate about 5 dumdum suckers in the time we were there. After that we went to a friend's house for a little get together and ended up staying way too late. DS and DD are both recovering yet today, so we've just been relaxing and watched the Smurf movie on Netflix. DS just went down for nap, and I'm trapped under a sleeping baby that I hope to transition to RnP soon. Time to eat check DS's candy! ; )

My mom is back at her house safe and sound. DH is off work for the next week, and I'm so thankful to have our house back. Other moms of 2+, how are you managing not lifting your toddler? DS wants me to pick him up and carry him regularly, and sometimes I'm making compromises i don't want to make, like bribing him to come upstairs for nap because I'm not supposed to pick him up. Not carrying my 3 year old the past month has been so hard. He loves to be snuggled and toted around. Lots of snuggles on the couch or bed and I resorted to using a tiny step stool to get him into the car without lifting him. Just this week, I can pick him up. Last week, I would be able to grab him from high heights (kitchen stool or standing on the bed) for brief carries and hugs. I didnt realize how often I toted my little guy around!

Oh and I also started "racing" him ("I'm gonna win!") Around the house to get him from point A to point B. He likes to win.

Went to Walmart this morning and bought some Halloween sized fruit snacks and packs of cookies on sale for 50% off and DD’s next year’s costume (Elsa) for 75% off, win! She wants DS to be Olaf but there were no snowman costumes. The snowsuit we have that will fit him next Halloween is light grey so I can probably make it into an Olaf costume pretty easily

Oh! And after trying 5+ times in stores and at least 25 phone calls I FINALLY got a Nintendo SNES classic for DH at Walmart! The only one they had. Stupid thing being released in limited quantities has made finding it a nightmare. But I succeeded and DH is going to be so happy when he gets home, wife of the year award over here 😛

H goes back to work tomorrow and I have my first check up with my OB. I hope she says I can start driving again. I’m still a little sore from the CS but damn I’m feeling antsy and want to go for a run or something. I’m hoping walking the mall will work as a replacement.

Why doesn't this kid nap?! We do awesome at night but daytime is a vicious cycle of I'm tired, 30 minute nap, too tired. Over and over. Oh man, this was my DD1. Crap napper extraordinaire. I remember excitedly telling a friend who'd had her 2nd baby a week prior to me that DD1 had been asleep a decent stretch, she asked how long and I said 50 minutes and there was just an "......oh." I logged a lot of hours bouncing her to sleep on a yoga ball and pacing around my house while bouncing/rocking her in the colic hold. White noise helped. Sending you hugs and coffee.

Why does ds2 ALWAYS decide he is going to die of starvation the moment I'm in the other room pumping??? I was JUST trying to feed him for the last hour.............

L was sending mixed signals on whether he wanted to nurse or not. I got him to latch on for a few minutes... then he spit it all up. Sigh. 😑

I was using my phones light to check to see if E was asleep and my cable was caught on something causing me to drop it on her head. Mom of the damn year over here. Pretty sure I'm going to be waking up regularly to make sure I didn't cause permanent damage all night (which I know I didn't but I did smuck the side of her little head)

cythe Don't worry, I did the same thing MOTN a couple weeks ago. I was using the light to help her latch, and dropped it flat on her face...she was not amused.

I think dropping phones and food on little ones is completely normal. When DS1 was new, I looked down one day and there was a brown spot on his head. I freaked. Then realized it was chocolate. 😅
