Let's go ahead and get this started. What's up on this Monday?

We tried the baby in his own crib/room for the first time last night. I know I'll regret jinxing it but the night has been ideal so far. Down at 9:30, then two wake ups MOTN - the same schedule he was on in our room. Now I'm just ready to start getting longer stretches but we'll see.
So now it's time for my Dockatot review. I love it!! That is what we put in the crib to help transition DS. Before, we couldn't get him to sleep in the pack and play or his crib - only the swing and the RNP. I firmly believe it's because they cradle him and help to make him feel like he's not in such a big space. Enter DAT. We started using it for naps in the crib and the first nap was over 3 hours! Now between naps and tonight's sleep, he is consistently doing 3-3.5 hour stretches in the DAT in his own room. When I was pregnant and saw the DAT, I scoffed at people paying $170 for a glorified dog bed. But as a parent I should have known to never say never. It works great for us and just 3 days into owning it, it's totally worth the money.
PS- While I was shopping for the DAT, I realized you can use the BBB 20% off coupon that you receive when you first enter your email address as a new email, but not one of the regular 20% off coupons. Those exclude DAT.

thatgirlrachel hopefully you’ll keep getting longer stretches of sleep soon with the DAT! A 3.5 hr stretch sounds glorious right about now!

DD2 gave me some long-ish (for us) stretches last night until about 3:30 - then she was just too gassy and spit up a lot to be comfortable. Part of that is my fault because I’m so tired at 3:00am I don’t want to spend all the time burping her and getting her back down to sleep. Ugh. I forgot how much laundry there is initially with a spitty baby. DD2 is nursing currently and then we’re both going back down for a nap. Otherwise just a few errands and trying to keep the house in some sort of (clean) shape today.

DD slept well last night, back to our regular night it seems. This morning seems to be a struggle for both of us, she's been awake since 6:30 and is clearly tired, just can't quite get back down. I'm hopeful this is it because I can use a nap.
H left this morning at 5:30 so I guess we are both on the struggle bus today.
No real plans, I guess I'm just shooting for survival.

DS is a week old, my milk came in a few days ago and I think we finally have this feeding thing down! It’s like the skies have cleared. Now if only he’d sleep just a littttttle bit more.
DH went back to work today, so it’s me and baby’s first day alone. My goals for the day are to rest (still feeling a bit of recovery soreness in my hips) tackle cleaning/putting clothes away in our bedroom and an outing to buy buy baby bc one of my pump shields decided to stop working.
There’s a Trader Joe’s next to BBB, I think I may stop there and buy a bottle of my absolute favorite wine ($7!) it’s been too long!

I realized when L stated crying at 6 that I had heard him poop at some point around 5, but never got up to change him. His booty seemed fine, so hopefully he won't hold it against me.
Going to see the hospital LC today as a follow up from the tie revision. I hope we can figure out a good position/hold for leftie because it's getting ridiculous.

Only 1 hour stretches of sleep last night then I woke up this morning to a pee-soaked arm thanks to a leak in DS1's diaper. Going to need a nap today if I can manage one... zzz. Also, just wanted to tell cythe that I'm in the same boat as rachydc where I don't subscribe to the wonder weeks theory. Yes, baby will have fussier times when they are going through developments but the idea that you can put them on a defined calendar for all children is silly to me. Babies fuss and then they don't.

Morning. I've got a sleeping baby on my chest with no plans to move in the near future. We had a crazy storm last night, and it's super windy out, so we're going to hunker down at home today. I have some organizing in the dining room and living room to do, so that will keep me busy when I'm not dealing with infant and toddler shenanigans.

You put into words what I couldn't. I feel he same way about the WW app. For me, personally, it's asking for more anxiety to try to coordinate my baby's behaviors with a given "schedule". I'm not at all knocking anyone who uses it. It's just not for me.

Planning an at-home day today since we have a busy week every other day. Need to put away baskets of folded laundry and then run more laundry. I need to get laundry on track since we’re transitioning to cloth this week

I just spent 15-20 minutes straightening up our bedroom.

My kids were both cooperative st the same time this morning! DS took a 3 hour nap and DD was happy playing independently so I actually got laundry and dishes all done, the whole main floor tidied and dusted, set up my new Fitbit blaze and opened up the stuff in the fab fit fun box I got for my birthday!!!! I feel like I accomplished more this morning than all of last week combined 😬. DH is off today and went to Costco and the grocery store. He is currently putting DD down for nap while I nurse DS and then hoping to fold laundry and keep cleaning. My goal today is for us to get the rest of the house cleaned, fingers crossed the kids continue to cooperate! Still need to dust upstairs, sweep, mop, vacuum and clean 2 more bathrooms...

I put baby in the RnP wide awake so I could pop downstairs and get some water and the ball, so we can rock upstairs. Came back to this. What is this sorcery? And most importantly, what do I do now?

cythe It's always when you least expect it, lol. Embrace it, and take a nap or do something that requires two hands now that they are both available to you. Enjoy! Also, RNP twins!

Just chilling on the couch, trapped under a sleeping baby while I eat my salad. DS has been napping for a little over an hour, and will probably be awake soon. DD was napping peacefully in her RnP, until she spit up and started gagging horribly (slightly terrifying). She's still a little stuffy from the cold, so I'm blaming that. The rest of us are feeling better, still coughing, but I think we're through the worst of it.

Add spit up on clothes and pee accidents while changing. Also I spend a better part of the feeding hour just burping the fella. Motn are the worst

I'm jealous of all of you that live close to a TJs and ones that carry alcohol. In the 4 states I've lived in with TJs not 1 could legally sell alcohol. I do love their giant bag of cheddar puffs though which we are all out off. Need to figure out when and how to get there to stock up on stuff in the next month.

Name has finally been decided for baby girl!!!! Otherwise things are going well, breastfeeding is good, sleep is newborn sleep and days and nights are flipped but no complaints overall. Had my midwife home visit this morning, I’m healing well, DD2 is back to gaining and the midwife felt her colour was good enough that she didn’t need to do a follow up blood draw for jaundice.
+1 to having a productive day. Today is the first day I’ve felt physically back to almost 100% so I’ve been tidying and finished up part of DD1’s costume.

I forgot how hungry and thirsty I get from breastfeeding. I ate a double dinner last night, including a bit of H’s red wine... it’s been months and it was so delicious. We did a winery trip before we got pregnant so there are all these amazing wines in my basement just waiting to be consumed.
