So I had a baby yesterday. I was supposed to be admitted for induction on 10/26 in the morning but L&D was crazy busy and there wasn’t any beds available. We ended up getting a room at 10pm on the 26th and they started me on pitocin. I sent H home to sleep since I knew we were in for a long day the next day and hospital sleeping isn’t restful for anyone. By about 2am my contractions were uncomfortable and making it hard to sleep so I asked for the epidural. Once that was in I was able to get some good stretches of sleep. My OB came at 8:15am and broke my water (there was a ton of amniotic fluid) and they upped the pitocin a bit to help get things moving quicker. I got checked at 11 and I was 6cm. About 45min later I started feeling some pressure and I asked to be checked again and I was up to 8cm (almost 9) and 100% effaced. They turned my pitocin down to see if he would engage further on his own (he didn’t) another hour later and he wasn’t as far down as they wanted so they upped the pitocin again and he was able to engage. Caelum James was born at 2:29pm with only 10min of pushing. He’s doing great and we should be going home in a couple hours!   |

rebeccabunch it was awesome since I pushed for 2.5hrs with DD Thanks everyone! We’re home now and DD is doing great with him so far. This is amazing to hear bc I pushed w 3 hours w DS2! Cannot believe the difference in your pushing time. So good to hear this is possible! |

I think it went easier because we waited until he was +2 to start pushing and with DD I started pushing as soon as I got 10cm. |
