Due to all the antibiotics LO was on on the hospital, we are dealing with some very loose and frequent stools. I’ve tried to make sure to change her frequently, make sure she’s completely clean/dry, provide some diaper free time... and yet it still seems to be persisting a bit. We currently use Desitin Maximum Strength because that’s what I used with DD1. But what kind do you all use or swear by? I’ve got Amazon Prime and am willing to order if need be!

We used Boudreaux's Maximum Butt Paste with DS1 layered on top of Lotrimin Ultra when he got really bad diaper rash. But I think he was older, like around 1? I'm not sure if the Lotrimin is ok for a newborn.

I've never dealt with a bad rash with my boys so I can't speak to getting rid of a rash, but for prevention I use Aquaphor on the bum with every diaper change, even if it is just a wet diaper. It seems to work since we never get rashes.

+1 for aquaphor just remember to use a liner if you use cloth diapers because it is petroleum based.

Aquaphor at every change, bc I have boys on their ball sack too when it’s looking red.
We also use butt paste but the green tube, the natural one
Anything with smells seemed to make things worse.
As we were figuring out DS2s MSPI we dealt with rash bit otherwise we never did and always used a combo of these two.

Aquaphor (the baby one) was always the best treatment for DD and I've found it works great for DS too.

I'm not sure what to choose because we use a few. Basically wherever is cheaper or on sale. We use Butt paste and both desitin varieties.

We haven't had to deal with any bad rashes, but we've been using Destin Maximum Strength since that's what they gave us in the hospital.

Triple paste. It's not cheap but it will Clear up the worst diaper rash. Also poops every single diaper change. FYI we only had 1 episode of rash coming back from hospital and TP Cleared it up and don't have any at the moment. Also we don't use wipes. We use a damp viva paper towel to clean with. We did use the wipes from the hospital which were water wipes. I was curious and decided to try it since it wAs provided but def the damp paper towels Won't irritate their skin.

Just water and paper towels? I’m intrigued as I didn’t even think about the fact that her wipes may not be helping. We use Pampers Sensitive but even then... hmmm..... Thank you for the suggestion!

Future reference: if you're dealing with antibiotics, using probiotics will help prevent the rashes. They make a powder for babies that you can put on your nipples when nursing or mix in a bottle. I used it when I was on antibiotics, too, so babies wouldn't be affected.

[bra] Yup just water and PT. Viva holds up the best. I use the choose a sheet cut each sheet in half than fold on 2. I keep a stack of them on hand at all times and wet about a dozen or so at a time and put Them in the wipes Warmer box but I don't plug it in lol! Someone gave it to us so 🤷🏻♀️ It really works and we hardly ever get diaper rash ever. In the 2 yrs of diapers with DS I think we only went through like 3 tubes of triple paste. Only time he has red butt was traveling and us using wipes.

We use burts bees baby bee diaper cream - I would always put some on DS1 after he had a poop diaper, and he never, ever had diaper rash. So, I'm doing the same thing for DS2...the stuff works really well!
If we run out of burts bees, we also use acquaphor (the baby one). Love that stuff too. I actually use it for lip balm/lip sleeping mask at night and it always makes my lips so soft.
Hope the rash clears up soon!

It definitely helps DS but I like the idea of Viva PT versus Kleenex. Anything that is more gentle Han wipes should help.
