It's the weekend before Halloween! And O17ers have spooky plans?

I plan to sleep as much as my spawn will allow. The little one still wants to nurse all night long apparently. He is lucky he is adorable.

My only saving grace right now is that my spawnling doesn't want to feed all night (I'm so sorry tnt).
Yesterday was the hardest day we've had and I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Hormones are getting the better of me and I'm just really down about how bad yesterday was. I need today to be better.
Happy weekend everyone! I hope to see everyone's Halloween costumes next week, should we do a thread?

We had an awful night last night. DS fought sleep from 8pm until 12:30am. During that time, we got him to sleep twice but he woke up screaming when we laid him down. I finally got him to give it up at 12:30. Then he was right back up at 2:00. After an hour long feed, he passed out, only to wake up when I laid him down. My patience was/is wearing so thin from a lack of sleep. Thankfully H got him back down and he just woke from a 3 hr stretch.
Im sorry to TNT and cythe for the bad day/night. I hope it gets better for all of us today.

I got 3 hour stretches last night but I still feel exhausted. BFing has also been kicking my ass but I think we've finally turned a corner...maybe.
No plans today. Probably take DS1 to the park and hopefully find where my clothes are boxed up because it's 45 degrees and I only have tank tops and yoga capris to wear.

Exciting day today for us. Our building is putting on a bunch of Halloween festivities, and we're looking forward to joining them! We don't get to celebrate many American holidays out here, so it's nice that our building goes all out for Halloween. DS is all set with his doctor outfit, DH is Dracula, I am a black cat, and DS2 is a pumpkin.
Costume parade, trick or treating, and then Halloween themed pot luck social to finish up. It's going to be lots of fun.
We also watched Harry Potter (Sorcerers Stone) and have bee listening to spooky music to get DS primed for the fun.
I will be back later to add pics of the pumpkin cheesecake balls I made for the potluck. I am serving them with chocolate teddy grahams for dipping/scooping. I can't have any because I am dairy free now, due to DS2, but hopefully everyone else will like them!

After an awesome night of sleep on Thursday, last night was a shit show. Up every hour for one reason or another: gas, hungry, massive spit up, a blow out, who knows what else.... Inlaws wanted to come down and I said absolutely not. We’re tired, the house is a mess, LO cluster feeds in the evening, and LO just spent three days in the hospital. We’re not entertaining people right now.
DD1 and I might run some errands today for some 1:1 time. I’m continually impressed with how she’s done with everything and want to make sure she gets some time too, especially after rough nights like last night.

{{hugs}} to everyone going through rough spots (us included lol).
Newborn days are tough all around. I'm looking forward to toddlerhood.
DS2 has actually given us 2 decent nights. I've been nursing around 10 when we go to bed and he's given me a 5 hour stretch both nights til 3ish. But after that it varies.
I just keep remembering that this too shall pass and every single step is just that...a phase and will get better.

Baby girl and I had a pretty good night. I think it was because DH and DS slept out in the camper. We are dealing with some serious sleep regression issues with DS. So the 1 month old is doing pretty good at night but the almost 4 year old wakes up several times a night hollering and we have to sit with him and rub his back to get him to go back to sleep. Ugh.
I just realized we have no Halloween candy so that's on the agenda this weekend. We get a metric assload of trick or treaters.

Baby girl still does not have a name, we have been so tired and busy over the past 36 hours that we haven’t had time to figure it out. She is nursing like crazy and we were up most of the night, but I was able to get a quick nap this morning before my midwife care for the Home visit. She’s looking a little jaundiced so we will be waiting to hear back later today about her blood work.
I’m still recovering from the quick labor, it took a lot of me physically. I’m glad I didn’t slack on the squats in prenatal yoga. I did tear and have a episiotomy. I’ve got a bunch of stitches but am afraid to look.
Any tips for down there care would be appreciated! I’ve been taking my Tylenol and ibuprofen, I’ve got a sitz bath, and trying to stay off my feet as much as possible.

DH and I foolishly stayed up too late watching Netflix which in turn screwed up DS’s schedule since we co sleep. Instead of sleeping 10-2 and then waking again at 4/4:30 and 7/7:30 he was all over the place. We are idiots. And now we’re running behind for our morning plans because it’s 8:30 and I just started to feed him.

No plans this weekend! I was considering going to the trick or treat event at the local strip mall today but lost track of time this morning, so we're staying home instead. I think we'll do trick or treating on Halloween in my parents' neighborhood though.
This morning has been a whole lot of bouncing on the yoga ball with DS2 in a ring sling. DS1 was being needy so he was also on my lap on the ball for a good portion of the morning. Thankful that DS2 seems to like being worn so far though!

I also loved the cold packs they gave me to put in my underwear, or you could make homemade padsicles. Forewarning that the Tylenol can cause extreme constipation - I was not warned of that the first time. And try to find a donut to sit on if they didn't provide one. All of the above, and a lot of time, helped me heal well.

I am totally loving wearing DS and he likes it too which is perfect. Currently sitting in the viewing area at the pool with coffee while DS naps in the wrap, watching DH and DD swim, best 😍

August Blooms I made my own padsicles with DD and even though I only had a small tear/2 tiny stitches they were amazing. It’s a good thing I didn’t tear this time around since I forgot to make them. I believe it was aloe and witch hazel and possibly tea tree oil? But that was 3 years ago so I don’t remember for sure. There are lots of recipes online. I do remember wrapping in tin foil and freezing and they felt amazing

Thanks guys! I didn’t tear with DD so this is new. I just asked H to get me a bag of ice since the swelling is going up. Padcicles sound nice, I think that’s going to be next on his to do list since I’ve been advised to rest and avoid the stairs as much as possible and I’m taking full advantage of it. I’m loving the newborn snuggles.

If you can find alcohol free witch hazel, I highly recommend that as well.

We went to the bigger pumpkin patch with a hay ride, petting zoo, playground, etc. DS1 liked the hay ride, but wasn't into feeding the cows.
We met up with my bil and nephew. He gave L a small pack of Oreos and said that, "as he gets older he'll get to hear all about grandpa". My grandfather, who passed away in January, would bring a pack of Oreos to the hospital when a new great grand was born. ❤😭
This evening the city is hosting a trunk or treat, so we'll probably try to go to that.

August Blooms +500 to padcicles. Also remember to keep up on the colace - you definitely want everything, ahem, soft.

So big bro ended up with croup. He's on the mend now but was home all week and such a whiny mess so it was rough. I'm exhausted since it's literally been only lil fella and Me, myself and I. Im also starting a cough now meh 😡 Just as we were getting in the groove with lil fella it's all back to sq one. Sickness can suck it! The worst!

August Blooms. +1 to the suggestion of using a donut seat - good for more than just hemorrhoids! Also, do NOT slide anywhere - off chairs, off beds or anything. As best you can, try to pick-and-lift yourself off of any surface you’re sitting on. And pads with wings, because you don’t want stitches getting caught in anything...

LO’s days and nights are completely reversed again due to our hospital stay and I’m too exhausted during the day to try and do much about it. And I’m solo-ing as H’s coaching season started and he’s at work all day. So I completely get it and it sucks and I’m sorry! hope your family gets over the sickness hump soon.

cougarette Yes the stool softener is a must. I may have taken an extra one or two just to make sure. duskymonkey Thanks! When the stubborn girl finally decided it was time she came very quickly on Thursday. I hope you feel better soon! danvers I just had a nails on chalkboard reaction to reading about stitches getting caught....Do not want. Baby girls bilirubin levels came back elevated... no surprise there... but not high enough for treatment. Luckily my milk came in almost exactly 48 hours after delivery so hopefully that will help increase the dirty diapers and move things along.
