It's only just begun! And I don't think I will be getting much sleep. Baby is wide awake.

I just dreamt that I was in the hospital because it was discovered that I had a second baby that wasn't delivered at the time J was that I needed to deliver. It was a very happy dream, where I was alone at the hospital but friendly with my nurse as she explained what was going on. In my dream I was relaying all the news to DH and my family via Messenger. I was also very excited about the prospect of suddenly being team green with the surprise baby.
Awake me is like omg I could not handle twins right now, why was sleep me so excited for a 3rd baby so soon?? Lol. We haven't even decided if we want a 3rd but I guess sleep me wants one haha.

DS has his 2 week appointment today. It was discovered at birth that he has a sacral dimple so we had an u/s on his spine done this week to rule out any issues. We got the thumbs up from the pedi that all looked good but I'm looking forward to hearing more details at the appointment today.
Anyone else's kid not like their arms swaddled? DS PTFO without his swaddle on at bedtime but grunted and struggled as soon as I put it on. So we did his first stretch with arms out. We have the love to dream swaddle but it's dirty right now... Hoping his next stretch is longer as I'm trying arms out again! FX

Well DS gave me 3.5 hours on the first stretch. When I woke up a had an update text from SIL about FIL that wasn't exactly what we wanted to hear. I'm not waking H bc he needs the rest. But if anyone has any t&ps left for FIL, we'll sure take them.

She loves to sleep hands up by her ears and will not hesitate to inform you that she's displeased with being full swaddled. I haven't used my Velcro swaddles for this reason, I'll try again when she's bigger.

Hello 4 am, how are you? I wish I had someone awake to go get me a glass of water. Thankfully I have snacks beside my rocking chair ♡

Also -
DDs favorite time to poop is right after I take off her diaper. After a few times of dodging projectile poop, I'm getting really good at it.
This morning at 4 am I caught it all in an old diaper that wasn't even on her anymore. #nailedit

chitownsully both my boys have wanted to be swaddled arms out. DS2 is a month old today. I'm pretty sure three other babies share this milestone but I can't remember who. Yesterday I had the windows open and today the high is only in the 40s and I can hear the wind howling. Yuck. Oh, and my baby is losing his dark brown hair at one month old just like DS1. I hope it comes back dark like DH's; DS1's came back light brown.

Baby gave me an almost 3.5 hr stretch but then decided that was enough. I had to come out to the living room because watching my husband sleep while I am trying to calm a pterodactyl sounding baby was making me angry. Mom needs sleep baby!

Ds1 and dh have been sharing a room. We put in bunk beds and ds1 sleeps on top, dh on the bottom bunk. Somehow for some reason, ds1 climbed down and came and got in bed with me last night. No idea why or how neither of the adults in the house heard any of this. I just woke up to him either talking to climbing in the bed. I don't care. I was just shocked I didn't hear him; dh didn't hear him; and he came to my bed instead of dh. I'm not complaining though. I have REALLY missed cuddles with him. I'm so busy and he's getting a bit all boy no cuddles. He just wants to play, not cuddle.

I'm stuck under a baby who only wants the boob. He has been cluster feeding, peeing, and pooping since 11:30. It's 3. Mommy wants sleep.

I also had cluster feeding all night. I'm still dealing with the hands all in the way, so that didn't help with trying to get him latched properly.
My head had also been hurting all night. It's feeling like a light migraine. Ugh, nothing is touching it.

Morning. DS gave us two, three hour stretches last night. He was wide awake most of yesterday afternoon, so I expected him to be a mess at bed time, but he went down surprisingly well.
Right now he's napping and DD is playing. We're going to meet H for lunch, then do some grocery shopping. I plan to wear DS and put DD in the cart. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

Baby didn't go to bed til 4am. 4am! Ugh. I am so thankful that DS1 has preschool today. I need a nap.
We have an arms out swaddler too and use the Halo sleep sacks. Kid just wants to eat his fist.

DS also hates being swaddled, he sleeps with his arms up always! Today is flu shot day for me and DD (DH will go after work today or Monday). For some reason flu shots here aren’t available until October 23 and this is the first day we’ve had time!

DD doesn't love her arms swaddled but we have been trying it the last few nights. Last night, though, she was not having it. Our Love to Dream swaddle gets delivered today, I'm curious to try it.
Baby has been becoming more alert and fussy. I definitely have an oversupply, so our cycle goes something like this: Drink too much and gag, refuse to burp, end up spitting up huge amounts of milk and getting the hiccups EVERY TIME, become wide awake because of said hiccups, want to eat again once hiccups are gone. Had an oversupply with DD1 as well, I know my body just needs time to regulate but its so frustrating for the both of us.

She is a better burper than DD1 but we still get the spit up and whatnot too. Ugh. Lovetit for commiseration.

Last night was our best night of sleep yet! DD2 went right back to sleep after each feed! I’m not naïve enough to think this is the new normal but DD1 comes back from my parents today and I actually feel well rested so hopefully we can have a little Mom and DD1 time while LO naps this afternoon/evening. I’m so grateful my parents took DD1 during our hospital ordeal but I’m anxious to have her back - the house is very quiet without her!

I can thank everyone for the t&ps. FIL managed to have a great night last night and is up talking this morning. Doctor says we are not out of the woods but it's looking good right this minute and that's enough for me.
Now for randoms. Did I ever mention that I pulled the trigger on a Dockatot? It should arrive tomorrow and I'm irrationally excited to try it out. That probably means it will be a bust, right?
Baby got up at 6am and didn't go right back to sleep like usual. He acted like he was up for the day so I hopped in the shower while H was home. When I got out, H had gotten him back to sleep where he proceeded to sleep from 7-10am. So I got an extra few hours of sleep this morning and feel like a new person!

Every attempt to transfer this baby to a sleeper of some sort has resulted in her eyes popping open within 15 seconds. I'm getting so frustrated.

cythe We are having the same problem here in the mornings. Sleeps fine in my arms but if I try to set him down anywhere, he wakes right up. I need to try babywearing to see if that works as a middle ground, or if that wakes him up too.

I guess we are cluster feeding today. So I've accepted my fate and responsibility by taking off my shirt completely. This is my life now.

Hi. Haven't read. Feeding the screaming baby while helplessly watching the monitor as the nap-fighting toddler climbs out of her crib for the millionth time. So...this is fun.

You have all my sympathies. I finally threw myself a temper tantrum and cried. H somehow managed to get the baby down and I cried because something finally worked. I hope things calmed down.
