rachydc, I agree with ssm. You aren’t outside the window to try to get him back on the boob if you are feeling it but no pressure.

Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers everyone. He was having mini strokes. They got him to the hospital and within minutes of starting the clot-busting meds, he was talking up a storm. H has even talked to him on the phone. All of your t&ps mean more than you know. ❤️

We swaddled DD2 last night and she went 3 hours in between feedings. It did take forever to get her back to sleep after her 2nd feeding, I had to wake DH up to help because I was falling asleep. DD1 was up most of the night, no idea why. DH looked at the monitor at 11:30 and she was still wide awake. She wanted him to sleep on her floor She finally went to sleep but I don't know for how long. It's a rainy, dreary day here- perfect for a nap. Let's hope the baby agrees- she is still sleeping right now.

Thanks August Blooms I have to call back at 7:30 pst to see if they’ve been able to get a bed ready for me. thatgirlrachel I’m glad that they were able to get your fil to the hospital quick and I hope there are no lasting effects from the mini strokes I’ve been up since 4:45 (I had to call L&D at 5am) and I’ve showered and done some laundry. Last night I was super emotional after we dropped DD off at my mom’s house. Part of it was knowing the next time I saw her she wouldn’t be an only child anymore and part of it was induction nervousness. I’m doing okay this morning, just ready to get things going. I hope that he comes today so both kiddos will be born on a Thursday the 26th...

thatgirlrachel Glad to hear he's recovering! Prayers his health continues to improve. Well, H and I caught DS's cold. I was up twice with him MOTN because of his coughing, and about every hour and a half with DD for feedings. So far DD seems fine, fx this skips her. We're supposed to get snow tonight into tomorrow. Not sure how I feel about that yet. Rough Thursday over here.

Last night LO did not want anything to do with sleeping after 2am so we’ve both been sleeping on and off this morning. Ugh. We get goood stretches prior to 2am and then all bets are off. I feel like all I do is feed LO and sleep somedays. The house feels like a mess so at some point I need to at least tackle a room or something to make it/me feel semi-normal around here.

thatgirlrachel happy to read your update! ssm I'm giving a big +1 to everything you said about pumping. It's so hard! It's why I decided before this one was born that I wasn't going to mess with it, because it was the biggest stressor in our feeding saga with DD1. I would nurse (sometimes for an hour), supplement, then pump -- and I got nothing double pumping so I had to do each breast individually to coax out 1oz or so -- and then it would almost be time to repeat the cycle. So fucking miserable, and I kept it up for months because PPA. Anyway that wasn't even the original point, sorry for the rant/tangent.

So apparently everyone in my area is going into labor today. They had a plan for me, but more people actually in labor showed up. They hope to have something by noon, but it’s not looking likely. So the new plan is that I’d call at 9pm for a 10pm show at the hospital. I really didn’t want him born on my due date because I have 2 cousins that it’s their birthday.

Sitting in the van with a pumpkin spice latte killing time for a few minutes before heading into the midwife’s office for our 2 week check up! DD went to the ILs this morning and they are taking her to the library for a storytime program (she used to go to their house Thursday’s when I was working so she is so so excited). Ran a couple errands with just DS this morning, so much quicker than with 2!

My mom leaves tomorrow and I'm feeling ALL SORTS OF WAYS ABOUT IT. I'm excited to get into our own routine with my little family but I'm going to be a hot mess of feels and hormones tomorrow.
Fortunately for me, my mom only thinks* she's leaving tomorrow morning. Little does she know I'm not driving her to the airport SHES STAYING FOREVER. (sadly, this is sarcasm... sigh)

Being at the hospital all day, I had to figure out how I would not get engorged. So here I sit in the car in the parking deck, pumping. I went nearly 6 hours without pumping so I'm surprised I wasn't more miserable but it wasn't too bad.

By 2mo, I quit even trying to pump. I completely understand the struggle. It was a huge part of my ppd.

((hugs)) cythe, it's so hard when family leaves. I agree that the silver lining is figuring out your own rhythm (and not having your dishwasher loaded the wrong way all the freaking time even though they totally mean well and you are grateful for the help...ahem), but it's okay to feel all the feels. We're here for you!

seventythree & ssm, I also commiserate with the misery of pumping. DD never got a good latch so I EPed and couldn't make it past 1 month. Between the awful schedule it required and losing my supply, I was so over it. I remember the biggest wave of relief when I made the decision to switch to formula. For a few reasons, I'm hoping to BF longer this time but I promised myself I wouldn't put any pressure on myself. So long story short, I'm just commiserating.

Heading to the hospital to meet the midwife, been having contractions all afternoon. 🤞 That it’s baby time, because these contractions are for real.
ETA I’ll make a thread if we get admitted.

H drove me to target and buybuybaby today. It was so nice to get out! I picked up a K'tan because it looked easy enough to figure out.

curmudgeon I'm glad you got out!! I told DH that I am going to the grocery store alone tomorrow. We need fruit which he does not pick out well and this mom needs a little alone time.

I am just so damn tired. I'm debating on getting L up to feed him so I can go to bed.
Apparently MIL is coming to town tomorrow and DH offered her to stay here. 🤤 I'm hoping since we don't have a guest room she'll just stay at his aunt's house instead. Of course she'll probably try to stay with DS1 in his room (he'll no).
