Because it's 2am on Thursday and today is already better than yesterday for me. Baby let me get a 3.5 hour stretch so far, after such an awful might Wednesday.
What is everyone else up to on this Thursday? Getting some long stretches too, I hope!

Oh and I have also made the correlation between DS's grunting and has/pooping (which I think someone else may have mentioned). But with every grunt comes gas and/or a poop. So while I'm not sure exactly what I can/should do for him yet, I feel so much better knowing there's a reason behind his grunting.

I feel like I got a long stretch, but doing the math, nope. Less than 2.5. Now I feel tired since I did the math 😂

2.5 hour stretch 😕 I'm hoping H will drive me to target or Starbucks or somewhere today. It's been a week and I need to get out.

Re: grunting Ds2 is quite the grunty baby. It has lessened some. But he still makes tons of noise in everyday life. Now that it is lessening some, I find myself trying to fall asleep listening for his noises. Sometimes, when he is sleeping well and not grunting, I find myself begging him to make some noise so I know he's okay. The crazy things we think as nb pp moms 😂😳 other times I'm begging him to just go to sleep and be a little less noisy...I want to sleep 🙈

Up over here too. My milk finally came in and I’ve been able to give baby a bottle vs drops of milk. Somehow I’m EPing again. Baby had/has a very lazy latch and by the time a LC finally came To help me, I was already in tears and over trying to feed from the breast. Its just not for me. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable. Anyway, I also forgot how stressful and annoying EP is :/ BUT this was the first time in days I slept longer than an hour or two in a row, so I’ll do whatever keeps making that happen!!

Knock on wood DS usually gives me a decent 3.5-4 hour stretch (4 tonight) for the first stretch. We are up nursing now and it’s usually every 2-2,5 hours from now until morning.

Jealous of all you lucky people getting longer night stretches! We've only ever gone 2 hours between feeds at night which gives me under 2 hours of sleep between. I have gotten some 3 hour stretches in the afternoons though, which sometimes lets me get a nap in. Hopefully we get some longer night stretches soon. We were up from 1-3am this morning because DS2 was having trouble passing gas. Then I got him down and 10 mins later DS1 woke up and needed soothing. Oof. ssm DS2 is usually a noisy sleeper but if he is particularly quiet I also find myself listening for grunts to make sure he's alright.

First stretch is good, and then lately it's been every 2 hours. I was kind of irritated about the every other hour thing, but we weighed DS2 and he has gained 1.4 lbs in the last 6 days!!! No joke. So...all that cluster feeding and night time wakings were for a good reason. My little chunk monster. thatgirlrachel I think that was me who mentioned the poo correlation with grunting. DS1 and LO are both big grunters and DS1 grew out of it once he could control his poo muscles better - sometime around 3 mos I think. Hoping DS2 gets quieter around then too. rachydc Sorry to hear feeding from the breast didn't turn out as you'd hoped, but I'm glad your milk came in and you can pump more. I know how tough pumping is though - I loathed it with DS1 when I went back to work and on business trips. Hugs. curmudgeon Starbucks sounds glorious. Hope you get some today!

Hello! I keep not knowing what to post and I'm not sure why. I'm basically living a variation of what most with outside babies are dealing with: my baby is fussy, my toddler is rebelling, my husband is simultaneously the best and worst, and I am at least 20% caffeine at this point.
My aunt left almost a week ago and I miss the help/company/family support, but am enjoying the freedom one feels after 2 weeks of house guests.

I’ve been up since 3:30. DD is sick, H got up with her since she wouldn’t go back to sleep. I dozed off and woke up around 4 with cramps and now can’t go back to sleep. At least H is staying home from work today, he’ll be off all next week too so I don’t think it took too much work on my part to convince him to help me out with the sick toddler.

OMG. L got up around 3:30 and I gave him a bottle. I finally just now got him down right before 5, but instead of getting in bed myself I'm here pumping. Bleh!
At this point I really hope he does have a tongue tie and we can get it clipped this week. I cannot keep doing this.

Oh and he has been super gassy since yesterday. I can hear his tummy gurgling. He had a pretty big poop yesterday afternoon, but it sounds like there's more to come. I just know it'll be at the dentist's office.

seventythree happy to see you! I've been thinking about you. I hope things are getting better. Just finished feeding DS. H is up and in the shower getting ready for work. I have my 6 week follow up appointment at 10am, so I don't think I'll be getting much more sleep. I have to drop DD off at my dad's around 8:30am and I'll have to get both kids up and out the door between 8 & 8:15. After my appointment we're going to hang out at my dad's, have dinner with him and the guys and carve the pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch last weekend.

Lazy day here today. It's a very important local holiday, so basically everything is closed and people are spending the day with their families or at the temple. We are trying to get DS1 excited for Halloween, so we had him try on his doctor scrubs outfit (which says Big Brother on them) and we gave him a play doctor kit. He loooooved the costume and kit - now he will be excited for the costume parade, trick or treating, and party at our building on Sat! I am also planning on making some pumpkin choc chip cheesecake balls for the Halloween potluck party. I found an easy recipe and really hope they turn out! Below is the goal....I'm making 2 tomorrow and will let you guys know if they actually end up resembling pumpkins. 😅

She ep with ds1. I was complaining that between nursing, pumping, feeding, I feel like I can't accomplish anything or go anywhere. I have a 3hr time block and 1 hr is accomplishing those tasks. And then I have less than 2 to get anything done before starting it all over again. I was saying I feel like it shouldn't be this complicated. She said, the whole pumping side is a different layer of complexity. And she's right. It really is. It is definitely more work. I will say, if you want nursing to work, don't completely give up. Just give yourself a little time. And baby some time. Ds2 needed to grow and get bigger and stronger. He couldn't nurse a week ago. And while my nipples aren't happy, he is making progress. We are getting somewhere. Babies grow and develop so quickly at this age. LO may be able to nurse in a week where they couldn't today. But, that is only if you want it to work. If you don't, then don't push yourself or add the extra pressure. Your happiness and rest is most important. I don't nurse overnight. It isn't worth the fight. I only work on nursing during the day. It is my compromise for our health and sanity. Lack of sleep is bad enough. I can't add in the stress of overnight fights to nurse. Hugs!!!

Baby girl only slept one hour after the last feeding. DS isn't sleeping well either. Stop the world I want to get off.

After several nights of waking every 20 minutes, DS2 actually have me a couple 2.5 hour stretches!!! I feel so well rested. Unfortunately ds1 is sick, so I know our day will be a bit rough. I need to do some housework, but don't know if I'll be able to.

H just got a call from his mom across the street that FIL wouldn't wake up this morning. Ambulance is on the way. We could use all of the thoughts and prayers right now.

Is it just me and moonandback141 left with inside babies? Sorry if I’m missing someone. ETA racegurl87 Good luck with your induction today! Heeey. Been up all night with awesome heartburn that's crawling up my throat in a fiery rage. Wow we are the final few aren't we?! And you are being induced Monday if nothing happens correct? I'm technically not due until the 29th and OB usually only considers induction a week past the due date, but I am hopeful about this baby coming on it's own anytime...anytime. Like preferably on or before Halloween ha. Do people plan to update the Excel chart with birth dates and stats or is that happening on another chart?
