I’ve got still pregnant memes for days... 24 hours and counting of mild contractions and cramping. It’s slowed down a bit this morning. My body needs to kick into real contractions or chill out so I can go on with my life until my Monday induction. DD was testing boundaries yesterday. Woke up at 1:30 am, slept in our bed, was up at 5am when H gets ready for work, I put on the tv, snoozed a bit and then woke at 7 to a naked toddler in my bed. I guess she was hot? 🤷🏼♀️ Coffee is hot, Paw Patrol is on tv and MIL had an errand to run, so despite the lack of sleep it’s a half decent morning. I just have to figure out what’s for dinner.

Baby and I were up from 2:30 to 5:30 this morning but DH let us sleep til 8:30. Poor DS1 was a maniac for him but those 3 hours of sleep were wonderful!
It poured all night, so it's day 2 of being stuck in the house. Ugh. I need nice weather!

Morning. DS is sleeping and DD is playing, so I'm enjoying some quiet time before DS stirs to eat, which should be soon.
I have some photos to go through and laundry to fold. Exciting stuff here.
There's a Halloween storyline at the library this evening. I'm planning on taking DD and leaving DS with H so DD and I can have some solo time.

We’ve got a follow up with DD2s pedi this morning but are overall doing well still. We actually got lots of sleep last night (by “lots” I mean multiple 3-4 hr stretches) so I feel rather rested this morning despite the last crazy couple of days. I’ve got to go grocery shopping later and that’s about it for us here today.

burritosateverymeal was up for a couple hours motn too. So tired. Currently pumping after 1st am feed. Meh I hate pumping 😡 Esp when I'm getting just drops 😩 Well now big bro has developed a nasty cough so will likely be taking him to the pedi. Waiting for clinic to open to call and see what they recommend but I think we need to go in to get a culture to rule our strep or w/e Sucks!!! 😡😢

danvers so so glad and relieved for you to hear your lil girl is doing better. Such a scare. I started crying yesterday when I was thinking of you and baby..... my fuzzy brain tells me that our bubs share the same bday right? Also I'm like worried over here about big bro and his sickness and praying no one else gets it. It's been so hard trying to stay away from him and not be able to give him lots of kisses and hugs and snuggles and I've washed my hands raw the last 4 days too now. Sickness just sucks. I hope everyone else can avoid it.

Hey ladies, I hope all the pregnants are doing well. Hang in there guys (which I know is literally unhelpful).
I think I have a yeast infection - which honestly pisses me off. I'm going to call the doc today and see what they suggest for 10 days PP. Sigh.
Other then that, baby is awesome. She is sleeping so I managed to get a shower in and am now enjoying some tea while H and my mom plan out our day.

Still pregnant. I overheard my mom's phone call with my aunt complaining about how I'm still pregnant and that i won't take castor oil, and how i should just go into labor and delivery and cry about how I'm overdue and have been having all these contractions, and my only help in the world is leaving in a week (not accurate. I will have DH and my ILs). Also that if my mom had gloves, she would check my cervix and sweep my membranes (so so not going to happen. I have surgical gloves from the deep cleaning we did prior to moving in. I will die before telling her that). I'm just really irritated with the world in general, and her specifically. I would prefer that she try to enjoy this time with DS rather than just sitting and talking about how she thought there would be a baby by now.

Still not sleeping at all, but DS2 is a little less angry during the days at least. Ds1 is sick, and so incredibly clingy to me that it's hard to do anything at all without him sitting on top of me. I did get laundry and next weeks meal plan dinner this morning though, so that's good!

duskymonkey I hope it's not strep! Just when I think my cough is done I'll get an annoying fit. trinitrotoluene how irritating! Like it's your fault you haven't had the baby yet. Sheesh. Can't you just will him out now, gosh?? 😑

After painful nursing sessions overnight I've decided to pump and bottle feed today to allow my nips to heal. Hopefully it's better tonight because I don't want to do all that motn.
I was in this weird state of sleep where I heard L get up and thought I got up and tended to him, but I was just dreaming it. It was disappointing to wake up and realize I hadn't actually already changed and nursed him.

duskymonkey I hop it's not strep! And pumping is no fun. I'll give you that for sure! @tnt that chatter would be so irroitatibg to anyone. Sorry she's n it able to enjoy time with your family as is. Pregnancy brings out the very worst in people sometimes. At least on my experience

We had the worst night of sleep since DS came home last night. Up every two hours to feed which is unlike him. Growth spurt maybe? We are also trying out the pack and play for night time sleeping to get ready for the crib. Trying to determine if the shit sleep is from a growth spurt, the PNP, or neither. I hate the guessing game of the infant stage. I'm such a type A personality and I want to know a definite answer to all things, not guessing at them. Which is impossible with a newborn. Oh well. Well see what tonight holds I suppose.

Also, a random question semi-related to my above post. Is it normal for breastfed babies to have at least a little poop in every single diaper? Sometimes it's full on poop and sometimes it's more like skid marks. He's had a diaper rash pretty much since he became an outside baby due to it and I'm wondering if the pooping in every diaper/diaper rash is contributing to his restless sleeping. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

thatgirlrachel I don't know for sure but I think it's normal (based on my pediatrician's lack of concern). My six weeker is ebf and always has at least some poop in her diaper during each change. She had a red little behind by the time we left the hospital so we've stocked up on Desitin. 😖

Hey guys! Hope everyone is surviving these first few weeks. Know you're all in my thoughts even though I haven't been here for a while.
DS is doing great! We had some latching issues that I saw an LC for so my only time to catch up here (while nursing) has been hindered by my need to focus on a proper latch / not have bleeding nipples!
We've been trying to leave the house at least once a day but it's getting colder now! I may have to bust out my winter jacket and use the babywearing insert to keep us both toasty.

She had a red little behind by the time we left the hospital so we've stocked up on Desitin. 😖 We are alternating using aquaphor and desitin. Our ped also recommended not using wipes during diaper changes as they can irritate it worse but instead to use Kleenex and A non-soap cleanser called cetaphil. That and diaper cream helps DS from getting any worse but with all the poop it won't go away completely. I'm glad to know I'm not alone anyway.

This is me... at my appointment yesterday he was still high and I was 3cm. Thankfully my OB suggested inducing me and it’s set for tomorrow. Dropped my car off to get repaired (someone swiped the back bumper in a parking lot a few weeks ago) and doing some laundry. I’ll be dropping DD off at my mom’s later so she can spend the night and all the time I’m in the hospital.

trinitrotoluene (Hugs) Have your midwives talked about an induction yet? Umm is your mom a medical professional, because a big hell no to anyone going near my cervix but my Midwife’s and/or a doctor.

They haven't. My 41 week appointment is tomorrow and I'm going to ask them. I just need to have some kind of end date, then i think i can mentally cope. My mom is an NICU nurse, so yes on being a medical professional, no on being someone i want checking my cervix.

I’ve been Googling too much lately and apparently membrane sweeps by non medical professionals is a thing 😬 I hope they set an end date for your sanity ASAP.

Yeah...i think i would actually rather be pregnant forever than have a non medical professional anywhere near there. My mom does at least have experience with deliveries.

Dd is actually sick, I hope I don’t catch her fever. My midwife called this morning to check on me and asked if I wanted another membrane sweep. She has a ton of babies overdue and is looking to kick start some of the more promising ladies in the hopes she does not have 5 inductions next week. Kinda selfish but I’m on board with this plan... I’m ready to meet this kid. Just had my appointment, membranes are bulging so my water could break on its own. 🤞fourth times a charm.

thatgirlrachel I was wondering the same thing about DD too. I don't remember DS always having poop/skid marks, but then again, I feel like I've forgotten and am relearning a bunch of things lately. I've also got a sick kiddo, but I think it's just a cold. DS's nose started running yesterday, and he was coughing and woke up a bunch during the night. Thankfully H was on top of it with him MOTN, and took the day off of work to be with us today. I've pretty much already accepted the fact the rest of us will catch it, but I'm really hoping DD stays clear.

Okay, I shouldn't have mentioned anything about her sleeping. Today has been miserable. She has been wide awake since 11 am with the exception of a 45 minute nap while we walked to Dunkin Donuts. After a fierce 2 hour battle to get her back down, she is stirring after another 45 minutes.
Ho boy.
