DD was a major grunter. DS grunts when he's gearing up to wake, but otherwise just snores. Lol

Thanks again for all the T&Ps. We are finally home! DD2 has a rough night last night of crying and not eating so they kept us a little longer than planned today to monitor her intake. They wanted her to wake for two feeds on her own so it wasn’t till after lunch we were good to go. Her days and nights are all confused but we’ll work on sorting them out later. Thanks again for thinking of my baby everyone - you all are the best!

August Blooms he’s regressed on sleep. A terror to get to sleep and has been waking between 3:30-4 in the morning. Sometimes he goes back to sleep, sometimes not. He was never a great sleeper but I miss being able to put him down without a fuss and him waking happy at a decent time. And it is hard to know if this is the two year regression, teeth or he senses something changing.

I swear this kid knows what’s coming, she’s been clingy and freaking out any time I leave the room. At around 26 months DD was having like 4-6 teeth come in and for about 2 weeks it was brutal. Wake ups in the middle of the night, early wake ups, all that fun stuff. I’m not sure how much it would cost you but a consult with a sleep consultant might be worth it, even if it’s to hear that your doing everything you can.

+1 to babies are just sleepy. I never took anything stronger than ibuprofen after DS and he still had to be woken up every 2 hours, and kept awake by stripping him down and using a wipe during feedings. He would literally sleep through anything else including diaper changes.

Nights have been rough, but I was able to get 2 naps in today and I feel like a new woman! Still having the usual pp soreness and nasty hemis, I’m thinking champagne with dinner tonight will help

It's been so long since DS1 I forgot how much they sleep in the beginning, and DS1 was picky about where he slept too.

Induction is set for Thursday. I’m at 3cm and he’s still pretty high. My OB would’ve induced me tomorrow but they didn’t have any available beds... I guess they’re pretty busy there right now

I got some pretty good stretches of sleep last night. But then I wake up really full and he's doing his popping on and off latching. Sigh. I hope I can get some good help today. It's frustrating to feel like I know what I'm doing when I leave, but then fumble everything at home. Basically I need them to move in with me. Or another set of hands. Lil fella does the same when I'm really full. It's hard for them to get a good latch when out boobs are full and engorged. Could you try hand express or use a hand pump just before feeding to get the boobs less full? I've done that a couple of times. It's hard when it happens motn, of course. But it does help when they're a little softer so I can really get the sandwich business going on.

I have an appt with the pediatric dentist Thursday afternoon. The LC said my technique looks good. And even after a few position changes I was still getting creases. Of course he seems to be hitting that first growth spurt today, so even though I'm trying to just pump rightie he's cluster feeding.

Taitai Face mask thread in GD... I can’t remember who else is into them or I would tag, I’ve been lurking for rec’s. Hospital called and induction is set for Monday, unless they don’t have beds. I’ve been having mild to medium contractions for the last 12 hours but nothing too serious. I’m heading to bed just in case this turns into something but at this point I’m not convinced it will. I’m exhausted from DD today, she was pushing all the boundaries and I was not at my best for dealing with her. I can’t wait for my bed.

DH had parent teacher conferences after practice tonight. 9pm and I'm trapped under the baby. Tonight was my first solo evening with bedtime and everything and it went well! Miracle of miracles. DS1 played well by himself while the baby cluster fed. They both fell asleep while I sang to DS1 during his bedtime routine. I can't put DS2 down but I'm calling it a win. So far.

Up and hanging out with a wide awake baby who most definitely has nights and days flipped again due to our hospital stay. Obviously I’m happy she’s on the mend and this is a minor setback all things considered, but I was so looking forward to sleeping in my own bed soon! H and I are taking shifts so I get to tap out at midnight and he’s on duty if she’s still awake. Currently catching up on Walking Dead premiere...

We are being offered a sleep consult through our speech therapy program so it is completely free! We paid for one when he was four months old as well and worth every penny. I may have cried a little when the speech therapist put a request in for a sleep consult today.

I’m struggling. Baby isn’t even here yet and DS is on a whole other level. It’s mainly his sleep and mood that is going to shit. I may have cried when his speech therapist suggested sending over a sleep consult as part of his therapy. How old is DS? He’s almost 26 months.

Taitai, I know you've talked about it a few times but talk to me more about the dockatot. We have been trying to put DS in the PNP bassinet in an effort to slowly transition to the crib (from the RNP). He has yet to get really good sleep in the PNP sleeping totally flat. We are using the Love to dream swaddle and I also tried a positioner around his waist to keep him from moving too much but he still seems restless and won't sleep more than 2 hours. I found out I can use the BBB 20% off coupon on the DAT so I'm thisclose to buying it in my sleep deprived state. Do you think this would help with that transition to sleeping totally flat for DS? Does anyone else have any transition tips for a restless sleeper that slept decent in the RNP but struggles laying flat by themselves?

Does anyone else have any transition tips for a restless sleeper that slept decent in the RNP but struggles laying flat by themselves? For DS1, we had the graco travel lite bassinet, and he would not sleep in it due to his silent reflux. So, we did the RNP for sleeping until DS1 was about 6 months. Our pedi had no issue with using the RNP for sleeping, and DS has a perfectly round head. We used the mamaroo infant insert with the RNP while DS was little, and when he outgrew that, we put a towel under the RNP cover and over the plastic part by the head, so it was softer where his noggin rested. At 6 months, we put books under the legs on one side of the crib to slightly elevate one side and tried crib sleeping. DS1 would roll on to his tummy and sleep fine in the crib. For DS2, I didn't even bother with a bassinet and just went straight to using the DAT in the bed between DH and I at night. DS2 is rocked or nursed to sleep and it is so easy to just lay him in the DAT. He stays asleep and doesn't wake up when we lay him down. It's awesome. The DAT is not totally flat, there is a bit of an incline built into it, and it kind of cradles DS2, so he probably feels very secure in it. We swaddle him with A&A swaddle blankets or woombies, and then stick him in the DAT. For naps, I know the USA site says not to, but we put the DAT in the crib and then watch DS2 closely with the video monitor while he sleeps. I don't see how it is any less safe to have a video monitor trained on the DAT in a crib than to be asleep next to the DAT in our own bed. So I kind of don't go by the rules on that one. Also, the sides of the DAT come up just like a RNP....so I don't see how the DAT is less safe than sleeping in an RNP. And since pediatricians tend to be ok with sleep in the RNP, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing with the DAT. I love it and absolutely think it's worth the $$.

DD is 28 months and there was a week or two in September where we had a regression. Hopefully he gets over the hump quickly if that's what it is. Happy to hear you get a free sleep consult!
