It’s been a long day here. Baby Danvers had a high fever this morning around 2am so off to the local ER we went. They monitored her for awhile, ran some blood work, and basically couldn’t find a reason for the fever. We were discharged with instructions to give a “cool baths and some Tylenol”.
None of this say right with my mom gut and around 1:30pm I called the hospital again. I actually got ahold of her pedi who told us to take her to the children’s hospital about 1.5 hrs away immediately. We did and when we arrived her fever was even higher. After some new rounds of blood work, including a lumbar puncture,the preliminary results are leaning towards viral meningitis.
We’re here at least 24-48 hrs. DD1 is thankfully with my parents. Baby Danvers actually perked up enough to nurse for 15 minutes recently and her color has improved greatly since we got here. Thoughts, prayers, good juju or whatever you all got are appreciated...

danvers I’m praying for you. I’m cant believe this happened and I’m so sorry anyone has to deal with this. She is exactly where she should be at the Childrens Hospital thanks to you advocating for her and believing in your gut. They are equipped for this. Please keep us updated. 🙏❤️🙏

Oh no, how scary! I hope she is doing ok. DD was in the hospital at 6 days old for a fever (well, technically an anti-fever/low temp) and she got the whole lumbar puncture work up, blood work, IV fluids, antibiotics, antivirals, etc. so I know the drill there, sadly. Hopefully it's not meningitis but if it is it's good that they're catching it early and can treat it.
