We went out to lunch and then the pumpkin patch. It was nice to get out of the house and DS1 was acting like his usual sweet self. We then all took good naps.
He's back to asking for several different snacks and jumping on the couch right next to me, though. Sigh.

DD2 is at my moms for a few days. My moms on fall break and offered to give her some 1:1 time so H (who is also on fall break) and I could catch up on sleep and whatnot. She was super excited to go and I’m usually all about sending her but postpartum hormones are giving me all the feels currently.
My BFF from back home just texted me tonight that she is 16 weeks along with their third! I mean, I realize I JUST had a baby but hormones and feels have got me wanting all the babies right now and I can’t wait to get in more newborn snuggles this spring since mine won’t exactly be little by then anymore.

Of course lil fella had to take an epic poop mid eating 😅😂 this seems to be our routine. Nurse on one side and huge poop before switching sides. Every time.

Big bro still has a fever of 102+. I can't remember when you shuld medicate? I did medicate last night and motn again cos didn't want fever to go up to 103. Anyways it sucks. We have visitors from out of town this afternoon and I Plan on making tea sandwiches and a cake 😅 As soon as Lil fella here is done with nursing. I’d medicate at 102. He’s probably miserable. Meanwhile, your tea sandwiches and cake sound wonderful. How do you find the time?!?

Someone tell me why my baby won't go down for me? Every single night when I try to put him down for his first "sleep" of the night, he fights until neither of us can take it anymore. I can get him to sleep in the MOTN no problem, but he will NOT go down for me for the first time of the night.

This kid will not fucking sleep. It's almost 1 am and she has been screaming off and on since 9 pm.
At least 3 dirty diapers later, she is asleep on my lap and EVERY attempt to move her to the PnP (bassinette) results in her waking 5 minutes later. She's currently passed out on my lap, I'm out of ideas.
I think my cat just came over in an act of solidarity. Or maybe he's hungry. I don't know anymore.

Hugs cythe. L doesn't seem that crazy about the pnp either. Interestingly he slept pretty well in the crib last night. I didn't really get the difference, but whatevs kid. Anyway I've had to rock him after swaddling tonight. Then I slooooowly lay him down.

Also remember if you need to put her down and walk away, that's ok. Sometimes I'll just go to the bathroom with the fan on to drown out the noise for a few minutes.

cythe She might not like sleeping on a totally flat surface like a pnp. DS never slept in his bassinet/pnp, because laying down flat irritated his silent reflux. We ended up having him sleep on the rock and play (using an infant insert when he was really little) until 6 months. DS only started being able to sleep in his crib or a pnp when he could roll himself over and sleep on his stomach.

Mercifully, she slept from 1-5 am which is why I can see the humor in this.
Current status : Feeding the baby while googling "how to remove baby poop from the carpet"

It’s my due date today. Yesterday I was super bitchy to my H who was not being helpful, my MIL got defensive about it. Why can’t I be a crazy pregnant lady without the whole family being involved?
DD went to bed late and of course is waking up early, she has swim lessons this morning other than that no plans. The weather is supposed to be amazing.
Sorry about all the babies not sleeping... DD was not a good sleeper as a baby, I’m not looking forward to that again.

DS must be preparing me for newborn sleep because he has been such a crap sleep for the last week or so. I’m so over it.
I think I’m going to send MH and DS to Barnes and noble so I can run a few errands in peace. Then we need to prep meals and bags for the week and induction on Wednesday. Hard to believe we are just days away from meeting baby

W both boys we did swing sleeping in the beginning. DS1 transitioned early to the crib at 3 weeks and DS2 a little later at 10 weeks. Do what you have to in the beginning for everyone to get some sleep!

This is probably going to get me banned from the board but I slept from 10-7:45! an absurd amount of time (Cythe was here). I woke up briefly when H got up w DS2 but I went back to sleep miracle!
We may pumpkin patch it today but I’m on the fence bc I’ve been on my feet a lot this weekend and my back really hurts + it’s about 40 mins away and could rain. I think I’m trying to talk myself out of it.
Not like you all have time to watch TV but has anyone started to watch Mindhunter on Netflix?

Yes, yes. Totally agree with putting your baby in whatever (safe option) they will sleep in. DS1 would only sleep in something with motion for the first 3 months. Vibrations, swinging, anything. So he slept in his swing overnight. Bouncer for naps. The new baby has been sleeping in the RnP overnight because his room is across the house + doesnt cry when hungry + no monitor. This way I can hear his little grunts and smacks.

Woke up 3 different times with contractions strong enough to get my hopes up, but fell back asleep every time. My mom keeps talking about how she thought there would be a baby to help with by now. Me too! Sorry my body sucks

Lazy rainy day stuck inside. But that's ok because it's 65!! Rain all you want as long as it's not 80+ degrees. Windows are open (covered porch, no rain inside), H and DS are playing legos, I'm catching up on laundry. Not a bad way to spend the day. I'm about to pop some cookies in the oven.

Still no baby... I’ve had a few intense contractions at night, but they never last. For some reason I couldn’t go back to sleep after one of my late night bathroom breaks so I’ve been up since 4/5... I hoped to be having a baby today so no plans, DD came at 39+4 (labor started at 39+3) so maybe something will happen tomorrow. I’ll probably make it to my appt Tuesday and hope that my OB will still induce me.

Had a busy day, swimming, made muffins, a visit from my sister and her BF, park, new shoes for DD and now heading home for dinner. One benefit of having MIL around is not having to make dinner every night. Reflux had been brutal today for no apparent reason.

We went to brunch at a new place that opened a few weeks ago with my parents. That mimosa really hit the spot. DS1 was so good and ate everything, and even wanted more. Then we got home and all took about a 3 hour nap. We woke DS1 up at 5:30... his bedtime is 7-7:30. Guess who's still up?
Meanwhile the more I read about tongue ties the more I think that's what's going on with L. He's consistently popping on and off every two minutes and when he is on longer the suck isn't very strong. I'm thinking about seeing the hospital LC again and see what they say. Then again, there's a pediatric dentist that I see recommended all the time and I may just go straight to him.
