I really like my K’tan so far. I’m uncoordinated so I needed something simple that wouldn’t drag the ground while I try to wrap it around myself.
And the cheap sports bras from Walmart to turn into hands free pumping bras. I cut slits for the flanges and they work just fine holding them in place.

Bumping this, any new suggestions??? I’m thinking of getting the Love to Dream Swaddle and the Kindred Bravely bras since I have discovered I basically have 1 nursing bra that I like. I highly recommend both of these products. If your baby prefers hands up while sleeping, I think the swaddle will work great. We have had good experience with it and for only $30, I was willing to take the gamble. I also love my KB bras. I have the t shirt bra (I forget the exact name) and the French terry sleeping bra. KB has a money back guarantee if you're not happy or if it doesn't fit, even after wearing the bra. All of their reviews were good which is was pushed me into buying one. And if you plan to BF long term, it's a great, inexpensive investment I'm sure you'll thank yourself for.

I'm too lazy to look and I'm sure someone has rec'd the Dock a Tot already but I'm going to recommend it again. It took me about 4 weeks to realize DS likes to be in something that cradles him pretty snugly. In the open crib or the PNP bassinet, he wouldn't last more than an hour. Even with the Love to Dream swaddle, he wouldn't last. He would squirm and still be able to move his body and he'd wake himself up. Now I can lay him in the DAT and he doesn't move. The other night I had to check for breathing bc he literally didn't move when I put him down for the night. He's a squirmy baby in general so even when he moves during the night, he can't move much bc of how the DAT cradles him and he goes right back to sleep. I'm not saying the product will work for everyone - but when he took a 3 hours nap in it the first time I laid him in it, it was immediately worth the $150 I paid.

Also the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams soother. We got one for DD as a sound machine and she still plays with it in her crib every single morning (she's 23 months). We use the same one for DS now but on the white noise setting. There are 4 options including music white noise and with/without the lights/aquarium on.

Question about swaddles - at the moment, DD sleeps hands up all day erry day, so I haven't been swaddling her. I half swaddle her lower half, mostly so she doesn't get cold at night. Right now, she's passed out with no swaddle/blanket at all.
If we are doing well at night (daytime is hit or miss) do you think it's worthwhile to try and full swaddle her now? I'm thinking of the love to dream swaddle if anything, the Swaddleme ones I have are pretty meh for us. I just don't know if it's worth messing with things since what we have seems to be working okay.

cythe - I wouldn't mess with what's working for you guys. If you get DD used to being full swaddled, you'll have to wean off of that once she can roll over anyway. So you've got one less thing to wean from if she's cool with just a lower-half swaddle.

Oh, I've been meaning to drop a recommendation in here - not so much for baby, but for new moms. I highly recommend the Fridababy peri bottle. I got mine in a gift pack with some nail clippers, the Windi (gas relief) and the nose sucker. I haven't really used the others yet, but the peri bottle is wonderful. I prefer it much more than the one from the hospital (but yay free stuff from the hospital!) Edit* and yes, I do realize this is a little late as we are all post partum now. Better late than never! I loved the Fridet (peri bottle) - so much easier than the hospital brand. It's good on hemis postpartum, too. Then it'll later be good for potty training I used the Windi this week, and it worked like a charm - we bought a couple packs to have on hand. He goes from freaking out with gas pain to happiness in a minute.
