Since I'm up anyway. What's going on today?

Why do things look and feel good, and are easy, when getting help, but then hard to do at home?

We worked on the laid-back position with the LC and it was great. Even though it did take a while for him To latch on and get started, it didn't hurt. Same thing when we first got home. But tonight it's been painful and feels like he's pulling down to the side. Gah! BUT he did transfer about 2oz in that feeding while we were there!

Anyway, there's a support group that meets on Friday, so I'll go to that and see what that LC has to say.

I think my 3 day total is a whopping 4 hours of sleep and I'm exhausted. Tiny wants to eat constantly. I have no idea how I'll survive every day life once DH heads back to work.

OMG and after that painful session I'm still hard as a rock. After trying to lay him down, he's on the other side (which is feeling better at least) and just had a massive poopy diaper.

Did I mention that DH is sick? So he's worthless this week. He may as well be at work and taken next week off.

cougarette, I'm sorry for the troubles tonight (this morning?).

I'm currently up trying to get DS back to sleep after a feed. He usually goes right back to sleep with no trouble so I'm not sure what's up tonight. He's also been trying to have a shallow latch the past day or two which has resulted in very sore nipples. I hope we work through that quickly bc I forgot how bad those suck 😩

Oh the nips are so sore! DS has his 4 day appointment this morning so I'm going to ask about tongue/lip tie. There is nothing scarier than to look down after a feed and see blood on your baby's face. Thank God it was mine.

Other than that we are just working on getting him comfortable sleeping in his bassinet. I got a 2.5 hour stretch tonight in there! FX for the rest of the night. He slept in our arms at the hospital so just trying to break that habit early. 😊

I attended BF support groups when DD was a baby (and may this time too). They were really helpful! FX you both find your groove soon!

Well I’m glad to see I’m not the only one up today. DD2 has been up all hours nursing and then wide awake. I’m really tired but so thankful we decided to send DD1 to daycare while I’m home on leave so I can nap today. Not sure what I’d do if this wasn’t the case - bless any of you mommas who keep all your littles home with you!!!!

So yep, my big Wednesday plans are nap(s).

...just waiting on H to get an outfit on. I think our whole family is taking bets on hair color. H is super blonde. I'm brunette. DS is super blonde, and says DS2 is going to have yellow hair like him. So suspenseful.

Add me to the sore nipples club. I have some APNO from DS that I've been using, which is helping a lot. No bleeding yet. I know we'll get through this, but that initial latch right now...esp on poor lefty...ouch!!!

Cluster feeding all night long... zzz. H came down with a sore throat yesterday that started teetering toward man cold territory - really hope he's feeling better today for all our sakes lol.

DS was up to 3oz, but last night he was only drinking 2oz, so was up every 1.5 hours. Zzzzzz

I'm snuggling with him now. Waiting for H to wake up. Hoping it's soon because we need bottles washed and I'm sure DS is going wake in about an hour wanting to eat again.

cougarette Breastfeeding is hard, it’s like the baby is on its best behavior when others are watching. Hopefully the other LC can give you some tips.

mommabakes Not sure if you are FF or BF but can you get someone to feed baby so you can get a few hours?

Sorry about all the sore nips! I hope you all can get some relief and some naps in today.

Yoga tonight but other than that no plans. I’m going to try to check some tasks off my bonus to do list, maybe bake some muffins. IL’s were being weird yesterday so we will see how they are today.

DH ended up still staying home yesterday but is going back to work today. DD has ballet snd we always do the library first (same building) so I have my first solo outing with both kiddos today!

It's my due date! I wish baby knew that, so he could get out already. I have an appointment with my midwife and fully intend to beg her for some kind of induction date. Just having a guaranteed end date in mind will be so nice mentally and will help end this awful guessing game.

My mom is here, which is nice, but I'm so sick of the looks of concern and pity from both her and DH every time i record a contraction or DS plops onto my lap hard. Yes neither is fun, but both have been my life for a while now. This is not new. Please stop spending half the time staring at me.

Baby girl only woke up to eat twice last night and was so easy to feed. I know that shit won't last but also she clusterfed all day yesterday so I feel like I earned some sleep. She is up to over 7 pounds now from her birth weight of 6 pounds!

All those with sore nipples are making me so nervous to BF again. DS had an awful latch (our lactation nurse nicknamed him the shark to give an idea how bad it was) and it’s one of my biggest fears.

Still pregnant and at work pretending to do stuff. No one is obviously giving me much to do so I’m just trying to look busy.

LO and I took 2 naps this morning as last night was a long night of nursing and wake ups. Now I’m eating lunch while LO has some yummy time . She doesn’t hate doing it like DD1 did but she’s also just content to lay there and look around quietly without much head lifting. 😑

Excited for the babies coming soon - don’t even need to wait for our usual weekend O17 boom this time!

I'm sorry to bring it up again today but I'm so sorry mkrupar

Well, our first night home was good. No mega screaming meltdowns - from her or me - so I'm calling it a win.

We had our 4 day of life appt with the pedi. He showed me how to burp her correctly which I really appreciated. I even took a video so I could reference it later. No love pats for this one!

Feeding about every 2 hours, which I was informed is good for now but once my milk comes in is not bueno. He told me how to recognize real hunger cues from just babies babying. Unrelated - milk... hurry up. I'm producing great colostrum but it feels ineffective at this point. However we are up 2 oz from yesterday (7lb5oz at birth, dropped to 7 even and now 7.2 today).

Nipples are okay. I got some balm for them at my baby shower but it seems it has chunks in it that doesn't melt on contact so idk about that.

Just as an anecdote, DD was a terrible latcher. Im talking bleeding nipples and made me end up EPing it was so bad. This baby is much better and most of the time has a great and easy latch. I hope your experience is similar!
