I've been all over the Motherhood sales this time. I've been trying to go with swing-y or non-ruched stuff I can wear for a while post-pregnancy too.

Macys by me no longer have a mat section. Target had one rack of clothes. ON mat section is usually a mess. I've bought some stuff online from Gap and Zulilly to add to what I had from last time. This is my experience too. Like, everything is a hot mess and very picked over. Sure, I could order online but who knows what you're going to get - fit wise. Related: I'm too tall for maxi dresses and I'm so sad. It looks like yoga pants and shorter dresses for me. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Maxi dresses are not cooler for the summer. I get really hot and then I could feel the sweat dripping down my legs. All I want are really light weight loose fitting capri pants. But I need to try them on, which I cannot do because no one has a decent mat section anymore.

Is this where I get to vent my hatred of full belly panel shorts/pants? So itchy/uncomfortable and most bottoms have them for some reason!

I've also found some maxi skirts on Amazon that were long enough (and cheap!)

I was lucky when I was pregnant with DD and I got a pair of jeans from Gap that had the demi panel but it's way too hot here to wear jeans in the summer so they'll be nice for after sequel is here.

I don't love the full panel, but with the demi panel I always feel like my pants are falling down.

All my current maternity bottoms are full panel, I don't mind it but this is my first pregnancy in the summer and I can see how it will get hot and sweaty.

Add me to the tall girls club (also 6'). I have found a couple maxi dresses in the past that were kind of long enough, but I prefer LLR maxi skirts. They're amazingly long, and I double them as dresses (w/ a belt) sometimes. But yeah, sun dresses are my usual go to in the summer.

I'm going to try use my LuLaRoe wardrobe throughout with some Gap and ON tanks to go with the skirts.
My one issue is the chub rub of wearing only dresses and skirts. I might cut up some leggings to wear under, but only if I can get them to stay on below the bump - I can't stand anything on my stomach right now.

My one issue is the chub rub of wearing only dresses and skirts. In general, this is a main reason I hate wearing dresses/skirts. Thunder thighs ftw

I did my first round of maternity clothes shopping over the weekend at MM. Current thoughts: - Last pregnancy during the winter I was all about the full panel, but kinda thinking it might be super hot and itchy in the summer? Idk, I just bought two pairs of shorts with full panel and they're so comfy right now so I'm not going to think about it. Definitely can't do demi panel because agree with blackmamba they feel like they're going to fall down. - I bought one of those form fitting shorter summer dresses too and it looks ridic at the moment because there's a big poof of fabric between my boobs and my bump that's not being filled out. Saleslady said it would fit better once my bump grew. Idk if I believe her. - I have one pair of jeans left from last time. Debating if I can make it work with just this one pair until late October or if that's dumb and I should spring for a new pair now and actually get some use out of them.

I prefer the form fitted dresses, you'll definitely fill it out soon. I wore full panel in the summer last time and it was fine! I like them because they contain the belly oil I put on my stomach. I have two pairs of maternity jeans but I only wear one pair regularly. I think you can get by with one.

rebeccabunch too bad we can't exchange maternity wardrobes! DS was a February baby so we're basically on each other's opposite timelines. chitownsully Good to hear! You're making me more confident in my summer choices and attempt at one pair or jeans.

Speaking of loose fitting capri pants, I want gaucho pants to come back in style so badly...remember when they were everywhere in like 2005/2006? The nice thin cotton jersey ones. Loved them.

You're making me more confident in my summer choices and attempt at one pair or jeans. Yesterday I was like I should give all my cute shorts and dresses to riverraine bc I think we are the same size. Too bad we live too far! Plus I'm hoping I have a somewhat bump to wear them by the end. I usually have something significant by 16weeks. Carried real basketball with my boys. Hope to get far enough to find out how I carry this time!

I wish I had some - I can't find them anywhere. I would wear them ever freaking day if I could. ETA - maybe it's an Asia thing? They don't sell them anywhere out here - lots of maxi skirts and skinny jeans/pants for maternity wear.

Anyone have recommendations on shorts to wear under skirts / dresses (obviously that would work with a pregnant belly)?

I was browsing the mat section of Old Navy online and some of the stuff was getting horrible reviews. Like these shorts that looked super cute and fitted online arrive and they're giant and long and baggy. Some of the reviews included pics and they legit made me laugh, they were so bad. That + your review makes me think I should stay away from ON.

Anyone have recommendations on shorts to wear under skirts / dresses (obviously that would work with a pregnant belly)? I like the Jockey slip shorts. They have different lengths, colors, and material options (cooling, wicking, etc.). www.jockey.com/catalog?department=women&category=underwear&style=slipshort#/page=1I'm wearing my pre-pregnancy ones now and I just let the top part sit under my belly. Still comfortable and they don't feel like they are falling down or moving around, but still light and comfortable for summer.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've also been ok with ON, but I haven't purchased shorts, just dresses and tops and 1 pair of pants. I've noticed that I need to order a size down with them or else things are too big and they bunch in strange places.
