regretting not bringing up the hemi situation with my ob yesterday...so does this cream actually help them get smaller? or just help with uncomfortableness? i've been taking a bath pretty much every night and that doesn't seem to be doing anything to reduce them. i am also scared of what is going to happen with them with another delivery.
anyone else's hands so dry and cracking/bleeding from washing so much because of frequent bathroom trips?

polson this is the only time in my life when dry skin has been a serious issue. My entire body feels red and sensitive but my hands and face are the worst. All cetaphil, all the time over here.

Since you see your OB more you can ask for it then. Also, internal application is best.. in the mean time, you can get prep H ointment and use that. It's pregnancy safe, and it does help.
and to be clear, I didn't get them from birth, they appear a week or two AFTER birth. Or reappear, I should say.

Both. Hemi's are 'fixed' or 'relieved' by shrinking. The ointment (the cream isn't as good) helps with shrinking them. It's best used with the internal applicator. Tucks pads can help too, so wipe with tucks, dry, do the prep h or the prescription cream.

My hands are ridiculously dry too. It never fails... as soon as I put on lotion, I either have to pee or a kid sneezes/drools on my hands and I have to wash them again.

Team dry hands. I never thought of the frequent washing, just thought it was cold weather related.

This isn't exactly a symptom, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this problem. Last Saturday I really hurt my tailbone and the pain is severe and practically debilitating. It is so much worse than either of the two times I've hurt my tailbone in the past, and both of those times took months to heal. I'm afraid it's going to cause problems with giving birth and I have an appointment to see my doctor to talk about it. Has anyone else ever hurt their tailbone during pregnancy and did it interfere with your ability to give birth later?
Hopefully I'm just being paranoid...

I don't have personal experience, but the only complication I can think of is it being more painful. The tailbone is so sensitive and bruises so easily, it doesn't surprise me that you're having a hard time right now. I smashed my tailbone for the second time last Christmas (falling down stairs) and finally stopped sitting on an orthopedic pillow somewhere shortly around 6ish months later (same timeline as the first time I fell on my tailbone). It's not really necessary for any of the birthing process, so on that front, I wouldn't worry about it. I hope you feel better quickly, though.

mintyblueair i'm pretty sure i bruised mine pretty badly during birth last time around, so not quite the same but i found that a heating pad and one of those donut cushions really helped relieve the pain. sorry you are dealing with that!

Thanks Rama and polson. I guess what I'm most afraid of is the potentially increased pain during birth, but hopefully four months is enough time for it to heal. I picked up a donut pillow and it's making sitting down a bit more bearable!

Oh god the constipation. I never had much of a problem with it when I was pregnant with DD. This one it's like production has stopped. Then last night at like, 1 am the flood gates opened and I've gone 4 or 5 times today.
WHY BODY? Why?

If it’s still hurting come birth time I’d try labouring on hands and knees versus on your back or sitting. Anything to alleviate pressure. My MIL broke her tailbone giving birth to my BIL, so it’s of course possible but you want to avoid aggravating it or doing more damage. I hope it heals quickly.

I spoke with my doctor today and that's basically what she said--if it still hurts by the time I'm due we'll figure out positions that lessen the pressure on it as much as possible. I've heard of people breaking their tailbone in labour, it sounds horrific! I do not want to be one of those people 😰

Anyone have a salty taste in their mouth? All foods taste salty to me and then foods that normal have some salt to them already (like french fries or bacon) taste overly salty right now. Anyone else?

Everything has tasted sweet to me since I got pregnant. It's just starting to go away now that I'm not dying of morning sickness anymore. But I feel like my taste in general can't be trusted right now. I keep thinking stuff tastes weird that other people think are fine.

Last night I had pins and needles in my crotch and butt. It felt exactly the way it does when your foot falls asleep but 1937 times worse. It's never happened before and was totally bizarre.

Oh man. I just cringed for you snowmoon. That's the worst feeling when it happens in your hands - I can't even imagine it in my lady bits.

snowmoon, if it makes you feel better I totally had that happen earlier this week at DS's Christmas pageant. Stupid church pew for an hour. Super alarming to have numb lady bits

Sometimes the baby scrapes/kicks SO hard at the top:front of my uterus and it almost hurts and is really shocking - jump out of my chair, assumed my coworker poked/smacked me, hard. It’s happened 3 times and is horrible. Normal/not normal? Kick counts are normal and this isn’t after caffeine/sugar.

Leaf 🌱 I dont' think I'd ever be concerned about movements that are too big. Some babies are just more pushy haha.
