Achievements: We made it on time to everything this week Challenges: I got a cold or sinus infection this weekend so that put a damper on things. Plans for the week? DD1 has preschool twice, they both have swim lessons and little gym as well. We will probably do the zoo one day as well. How are YOU doing? As soon as this cold goes away I should be good! Q's/Vent? QOTW- in the spirit of fall being here, what is your favorite season? It's probably fall now, I love the cooler weather and all of the activities and festival's we can do with the girls now.

Challenges: Naptime. Why is nap time a struggle?
Plans for the week? Keeping everything low key this week. Dh works M,T,Th,F which is unusual
How are YOU doing? I'm tired.
Q's/Vent?
QOTW- in the spirit of fall being here, what is your favorite season? Winter. It's so pretty with falling snow, plus plant life is minimal, so no allergies.

Achievements: Survived one day of work, went to the family wedding with both kids and they looked so cute as ring bearers.
Challenges: H is spending lots of his non-working hours working on his degree. I'm having a hard time with it. He thinks its important for his career, a few promotions down the road, plus he wants to have it for personal reasons and he thinks he'd have trouble finding another job if he got laid off. I get all of that, but it's hard for me to remember when I've got the kids by myself all weekend since it isn't critical to our life at this moment. I'm just feeling like his last priority, even though he's doing it to help take care of me and the boys.
Also, I'm really missing staying home full time. This job is hard and I'm really not sure it's worth the pay.
Plans for the week? H is out of town. Kids had dentist appointments today. Work T and Th. Workout MWF. Work training Monday evening.
How are YOU doing? See challenges.
Q's/Vent? Anybody want to come clean my house? Vacuuming and dusting are the only things I'm getting to. My bathrooms need some love.
QOTW- in the spirit of fall being here, what is your favorite season? I live in Houston, so we really only have Summer and Not Summer. I'd probably pick summer if I had to choose. Swimming, easy clothes, simple food. I definitely enjoy parts of all of them and I'd like to experience them in a place that really has four seasons. I don't think I'd do well with snow/cold for long though.

Achievements: we are surviving this crazy heat wave that came through. I am just about over it.
Challenges: see above.
Plans for the week? just working my little job while DS is at school. Tomorrow we have a soccer game. They're having a photographer come out & do pics beforehand which will be cool. I think that's all. There might be practice on Thursday, coach hasn't confirmed yet. I'm kind of looking forward to this season being over tbh. Just a couple weeks left.
How are YOU doing? Doing okay, kind of bummed I didn't get this other job at the school district I applied for. I'm 98% sure it's because I'm a sub & they're in dire need of subs.
Q's/Vent?
QOTW- in the spirit of fall being here, what is your favorite season? I love the fall but with seasonally appropriate temps.

I'm new here (been kind of lurking) I'm a SAHM to my 9 almost 10 month old little boy L whom I call Lobster, as lobster rolls is what I craved during pregnancy (I like Lobster ok but not to the extent I did during pregnancy... like 2-3 rolls a week) I'm the wife of a merchant marine engineer (not military) who works out of Egypt currently. So I'm home alone with a baby every other month abouts.
Achievements: Finally got a glider (for $25) to start transitioning him from co-sleeping to sleeping in his own crib in his own room. We'll be starting with naps tomorrow (he's asleep in his car seat currently so today is out)
Challenges: DH is back to work as of yesterday which means 31 days before he's home again. It'll just be me and baby and starting to plan 1st birthday party.
Plans for the week? Pay Bills on Friday (woo hoo), start working on naps in lobster's own crib, clean house and order Invites to 1st birthday party.
How are YOU doing? I think I have a cold coming on (of course when I'm alone)
Q's/Vent? Does anyone worry about this choice? Sometimes I worry that Lobster is behind because he's home with me and not in daycare. He does swim class, and I put him in child watch when I take an exercise class for about an hour. I try to get to the library for story time, and other kid events but I don't have many IRL friends as we just moved to this area within the last few years. Are these worries/questions normal?
QOTW- in the spirit of fall being here, what is your favorite season? Fall is my favorite season! I love pumpkin spice hot chocolate, fall leaves, and my anniversary, halloween, and Thanksgiving are all in the fall!

Cheshie6 My H travels for work a lot, so I know how tough that is, though he only does a long trip (more than a week) once a year or so. It is a law that you and the baby can only get sick while he is gone. I think your worries are normal, but I don't think it's really anything to worry about. The classes he is in are good. Have you looked for a local MOMS group? That has been my lifeline for the last four years. In our area, most people start Pre-K/mother's day out a few days a week at 3. Take your baby out in public, see other kids as much as you can, hire a babysitter every now and then, and you're good.

Cheshie6 I think your worries are normal! At least I have similar ones as well. My oldest is 3.5 and I've always wondered if I "taught" her enough to be ready for preschool and everything. My biggest thing is being around other kids constantly to work on sharing, playing nice, etc. But like you, we did kid activities when we could and I think things have turned out fine. Have you looked into MOMs club or MOPS? I know they are national organizations with local chapters.

I haven’t looked into Mops because Liam isn’t in preschool. I haven’t heard of mom’s club. But I looked it up and sent an inquiry but living where I live (middle of nowhere) I’m not optimistic!

MOPS is for birth to kindergarten!! Look into it. Our chapter has mentor moms who will hold fussy babies if they don’t want to be in childcare amazing!
