What did you use to make teething bearable for your LO?
The baby is teething and is just really uncomfortable. I give him Tylenol at night, but don't want to use it all day. We used the oragel natural teething tablets with LO, but I know recently everyone says don't use them....

Frozen washcloths to suck on, cold fruit in one of those mesh things, etc

I just let him comfort nurse for half an hour and now he is passed out in my lap. So I guess that helps. Unfortunately he hasn't started solids yet, so I'll start with the washcloth.

He had his entire sock shoved in his mouth. That freaked me out.

How old is baby? At 6 months, Motrin works better than Tylenol for teething pain.

How old is baby? At 6 months, Motrin works better than Tylenol for teething pain. This is what various people/professionals say, but Motrin never touched H's teething-related fussiness and crying. #anecdote

OOOH! I have a teething question. P has two teeth that I can literally see poking through. This afternoon a 102 fever. Is that just a myth? Isn't it usually low grade?

Our pedi says anything over 100 is not teeth. Yea. So she was back at 101 in the MOTN when the meds wore off. My mom said shes pretty lethargic but not feverish right now (though meds would just be coming off from the 5am dose). So when does one call the doc about random fevers? Ear check?

I'd suspect ears, every time Nugget spikes a fever and is cranky, it's an ear infection. She never pulls at her ears (although she always freaks out when the Dr tries to look in her ears and I have to hold her down).

Thing is, she's been sleeping more/longer in the last 24 hours- I thought ears usually meant terrible sleep. Though I suppose I should get her in this afternoon so I don't have to take the day tomorrow or something.

stringy go with your gut. But if she is ok with meds, not dehydrated or extra fussy or has no other symptoms, I would wait it out. That's just me. My kid got a ton of random fever-only viruses that lasted a few days. But his ears were never an issue at all. If it lasted more than 3-4 days, was high, or she is lethargic/dehydrated I'd go on then. Or you can always call. I do that a lot and avoid many visits that way.

The doc was kinda against me too when I said she slept fine and ate fine but didn't have much energy and no history of ear infections. Then he looked and was like welp here's some amoxicillin.

stringy, glad you got her checked out and some medicine. I think we are in the same boat. The baby has a fever now and has slept most of the day and grumpy when awake. I'm guessing ear infection too, so off to the doctor in the morning.
